the class 40 is just about the most appropriate loco for the line , the last british railways trains trains to use the line in the late 70s very early 80s were class 40 hauled coal trains heading to rawtenstall you used to hear them thrash past around 8 in the morning near burrs

Just a note for reference in your description, D200's TOPS running number was 40122 not 40001.

No Problem, I assumed the same and got quite confused when I saw the Method of operation for the event (I'm a signaller at the ELR) and saw that 40122 was to be put in the bay at Bury haha.
