I grew up in a funeral home, went into the field, and now collect old hearses to use as daily cars. ❤
That’s so cool! I’ve talked about acquiring an old hearse to drive for years.
Check abandoned funeral homes for hearse. Abandoned utube explorer shows.
Sounds fun
That is totally awesome. My sister's kid just finished mortuary school. She loves it
That would be creepy, scary to grow up in a funeral home
Luther Vandross the greatest artist I ever saw live.. Rip Maestro.
I used to work at a funeral home and get to be up close and personal with caskets and bodies. Working at a funeral home is not for the faint of heart.
It wasn’t the Undertakers items you saw; it was his manager (and longtime dear friend) Paul Bearer, AKA William “Bill” Moody. Fun fact is in real life he was a funeral Director and owned his own Funeral Home in Mobile Alabama. He is greatly missed.
He was such a cool guy.
Wow that George Barris casket is unbelievable. He was a real legend.
I graduated in 1991 from the Commonwealth-Institute of Funeral Service in Houston,Texas which is attached to the Museum. I really enjoyed watching the building of the museum and all the additions of the memorabilia.
I worked at several funeral homes in Missouri. It was a wonderful place to work at. I felt proud to help families go through a hard time with their loved ones. Thank you for this video💗
I worked in a funeral home as well , I loved working with the families and friends , helping people get through one of the hardest weeks of their lives .. I lost my job when Covid hit and it broke my heart. I would love to go to this museum. Have a great day.
Well timed Scott, went to the funeral this week of a life long friend since age five, most beautiful service I have been to. Fly high Maureen, you are loved and missed by so many xx
That reminds me that I really really need to reconnect with my childhood friend. I haven't seen or spoken to her since 1996. The years have just flown.
My friend's father used to fly Cliff Robertson's spitfire MK923 for years - it is now in the Museum of Flight in Seattle, Washington!
I saw the real “Papa funeral” in Rome also in tv.. all the ritual it’s an historical thing, all the popes tombs are in vaticans catacombs , 🇮🇹 hi from Italy ✌🏼
I like how they featured a small dedication to Paul Bearer who was the hall of fame manager of The Undertaker and a licensed mortician
Real name William Moody.
Thank you Scott, so respectfully recorded. I wonder if you agree with me that with few exceptions, American museums are so wonderfully designed and accomplished compared to the British. I've been shocked at some of the places I've been to that I know have had millions spent building them.
What an interesting place to visit. Thanks for sharing this!
Something that always fascinated me was all the presidents who got married in cemeteries. That’s awesome too ❤
I always found cemeteries to be very peaceful.
@@retrochickt7947 it’s my favorite hangout tbh. People don’t realize the absolute beauty of everything for photo ops.
:)
@@retrochickt7947 so very true, I started a channel a few months ago and do random cemetery walks throughout Wisconsin where I live .. 🤗
@@MaryAnn_Nolan cemetery I've been walking in since age 10, enjoyed going with my mom and Grandma, started a channel on Cemeteries in Wisconsin, I didn't realize how so many people love them types of videos, but they do.. glad we all love a cemetery because of how peaceful it is . 🤗
@@Regina0964 subbing up now :)
Born and raised in Houston. Visited the funeral museum when I was a kid, really only remember the Lincoln replica thing. I guess I need to go back
I have lots of metal in my spine, I’ve had 3 surgeries. Crazy to see after the cremation. My most memorable job was working in a funeral home,I learned so much about the human body. I lost my job when Covid hit in 2020. I would love to go to this museum.
It really is something special to see & very interesting & educational. So MUCH history inside. A huge exhibit that is ever changing. I've been coming to see it for years. Thank you Scott for sharing your experience here!
Well crap, I need to get to Houston! I loved all the funeral programs. That is really cool that people send those in. And the sleigh hearse! SO cool! I love the history of the industry, it's so fascinating and is continuing to evolve.
This was indeed a gem of a video. So much history under one roof. Thanks for sharing Scott!
This was awesome, Scott!!! I'm a former medical examiner and Forensic Pathologist so I absolutely loved this ❣️❣️❣️😊
Thank you 😊
That museum must be huge!!
It absolutely is!
This was great. Never knew there was a museum for this. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Scott...my dad died in good company....the same day as Jim Henson & Sammy Davis Jr. May 16, 1990.
Really enjoyed this with some melancholy mixed in. Thanks for sharing ✌️❤️
I've said so many times I wised I had studied and became a mortician and had my own funeral home. Being around dead bodies has never bothered. I think if you can help a grieving person or family from the loss of a loved one in the final moments of seeing them, has it's rewards. You learn to actually grieve with them, and at the same time, it's just another day on the job.
I had a great uncle who was a mortician in Mobile, Alabama, and he told me then I should become a mortician also. That I would always have work to do as long as I wanted it because people are going to die sooner or later. And I remember asking him when I was a teenager. Why in the world did he like being around dead people all the time. And he answered, "Sport, to understand the living, you have to commun with the dead!"
In today's times we are living in, I think he was right.
If I ever get to America this is going to be on my list as well as Arlington National Cemetery
How pretty was that sleigh hearse! Some of those coffins were over the top. Almost too good to put in the ground. I really enjoyed this episode. Thanks so much Scott! x Love from Karen in Australia
Absolutely fascinating! Thank you for sharing! I will probably never have the opportunity to go, so this was very interesting.
I have some experience running a crematorium. Not for people, but pets. The process is exactly the same, however the crematory is smaller. I always found it a great honor to take care of people's beloved pets. It can be very hard on owners and their families. I had many requests for things to be placed in urns with pets or in the crematory. The hardest part of the job is the grinding process. It takes more time than you'd think. A cat requires several hours. A large dog 12 to 18. I have done everything from someone's parakeet to a pot belly pig.
This trip through the museum was very interesting.
Such a great video! Thank you for sharing!
This is the neatest museum I've ever seen and made for a sensational video. For some I've become a bit melancholy. Maybe because it's the holidays and I miss my folks. They've been gone for a while now: my dad 2006 and my mom 2009. 🙍🏻♀️ Life can quite often be, well, it's difficult sometimes. Happy Holidays! 🎄🎄🎄
I’m sorry that the holidays were hard for you, Karen. I understand how you feel ♥️
Great vlog 👍, just really interesting artifacts of history to see and read, haha, even spotted Jordan the lion and jah in a window reflection during the video. Fantastic Scott.
Hauntingly beautiful!😍
Wish they had a replica of Willie the Wimps Cadillac coffin. Good video Scott
Absolutely fascinating. Added to my bucket list. Great video Scott.
Really interesting and a very enjoyable and fascinating tour Scott! Many thanks!
Thank you Scott for this video I'm blown away. It's wonderful to see all these memorials of our history kept for all to see and remember.
I find it oddly conspicuous that with all the death hag stuff I see, that Jack klugman who played Quincy on the TV series about a coroner is never shown or mentioned in any way LOL is it is it just me?
I don't know, if I could physically do that. But watching it on you tube, was very interesting. I hope everyone is at peace.
This was very respectfully done. Thank you.
Merry Christmas.
I love your videos but,I noticed that you didn't show Elvis' memorial book on this video. I would have liked to of seen it if it is there. Thanks
You really killed it on this one...
Very impressive and well done! Thank you Scott - I live vicariously through you!! It is now on my list of museums to visit

Great video Scott. I really want to visit that place. It looks so interesting. I bet you drooled over some of those funeral booklets!
so very interesting! SO VERY KOOL!! thank you...scott
Fascinating and very interesting! Thanks!
Fantastic
I’m so glad that you have a new video out. I have enjoyed watching them all. By far these are always my favorite, along with the cemetery. You really should check out the museum by me. Not one RUclipsr has ever been there. And it’s amazing. Also I’m a descent of Abe Lincoln, have you ever been to Springfield, Illinois? One of my favorite places to go ❤😊❤
Beautiful. Respectful.
I was a grave digger for years I loved it God bless have a good day tomorrow
Thanks for this upload and hi from Australia
GREAT VIDEO!!
That double casket looked like the one where the dad killed wife and baby then himself. All buried together. I believe they were the Keller family in NY
Been there three times, pretty cool!!
Thank you 💙💙💙💙💙🙏🏼
Absolutely 💯
One of your best ever Scott, the full scope of death!! Thank you Sir!
I went here a few years ago. It was amazing. Especially the Pope exhibit.
A very nice video. Well done.
That was a great video, sad to see how many stars have passed away. It was very informative. Thanks for sharing.
Too bad the museum doesn't has a date on the dates the marble stone for Marilyn Monroe was in use and removed. Just curiosity. I wonder how long they last before replacement is needed and what happened to all of the other ones that were removed.
I love that place. 💚💚
Merry Christmas Scott.
Great video Scott! I’ll have to visit that museum someday. I saw a Doritos bag. I wonder what that was about?
Thanh You. Very good and informative, A dose of the inevitable conclusion.
I find this hole video very interesting. Thank you for doing it
Thanxx I enjoy your videos and content I'll be watching more 😎✌️
This is really awesome
My late husband funeral. I had on a Rollback trip to cemetery. I don't want a in hearse. He died in October 20, 2019. His was a Rollback driver and owner too.
This was a great video! I amgoing to watch it again.
That titanium back brace thing will be all that's left of me when I'm cremated.
Scott this was very nice it really was
Scott! If you’re ever in Houston again, I would love to meet you. I have yet to go to museum. I need to go soon! 😊
Very nice museum; exhibits tastefully presented. My only disappointment is it seems you just walked past Elvis's memorial - why did he not get the same attention as at least some of the lesser-famous stars did?
So glad you mentioned this as I noticed it to I wonder why Elvis wasn't mentioned he literally walked by😮
wow so cool look like jordan jah is there ty for video scott
