Hey, how's the bike after all this time.Still in your possession? I am considering buying one however hindu adverts do not appeal to me and would prefer to hear more of an objective opinion out there - I am a mechanical engineer myself so to me things like durability and craftsmanship quality do count. I would appreciate your reply on this.
Thank you for watching and commenting. I am a pilot and aircraft mechanic so appreciate the fact that you're a mechanical engineer and that we may think alike on some issues. Yes, I am still riding My Royal Enfield with over 15,000mi/24,000km and loving every mile. I only had one problem, the speedometer went out. I stopped into Royal Enfield Tusla OK on a Friday. The warranty was approved Saturday to replace all the components, gage, wire, sending unit on the front wheel. Monday was their day off, Tuesday morning the parts came in and Me And My Royal Enfield were back on the road that afternoon. Currently I'm not getting the full 3.6 gallons range out of her like I use to. Seems to run out at 3.1 gallons now. I'm thinking the fuel strainer might be dirty. Maybe dirty gas along the boarder??? So when I get to Rocket Ranch, Boca Chica TX to check out SpaceX I'll put a new fuel pump on and see if that helps. The service manual says to replace the strainer. I made friends with Ryan Glynn @ Royal Enfield Ft Collins CO who owns an INT650. He looked at the fuel pump and doesn't think replacing the strainer would be easy and can't find a part number for just the strainer. You should be able to do all the servicing yourself. I had Royal Enfield Tucson do the 12,000mi service just to support a new dealer, but being a mechanic, and nothing is wrong, I wish I just did it myself. You know. I'm a full time traveler and can easily knock out 1,000km per day. The service manual calls out for chain lube and adjust every 1,000km, so that can be a pain and a mess. Just this week I decided to install Bandidos Pitstop Belt Drive kit. See my Maintenance Playlist. The other thing I wish Royal Enfield had is tubeless wheels, but not for the reason most people think. I Hate cleaning spokes! So there you have it. Best bike I've ever had. All I own strapped to my bike and I can run down the Texas highways at 85mph/136kph. I had to see once how far she would go so loaded down, on the level at sea level, she went to 105 when I called it quits. Please feel free to contact me any time. This reply come with one requirement. When you get your Royal Enfield I want to see your video ;-) Thanks again for watching.
Cool. Assume you ride? Being an A&P you would appreciate how well machine was designed. About 8,000 miles on it now she's running smooth. I love every ride. Side note, built a couple Questair Ventures.
@@MeAndMyRoyalEnfield I just got my license and am in the process of picking my first bike. As of now I've narrowed it down to a top 3 of RE INT650, MG V7iii Stone, and Honda Shadow Phantom. I've been strongly leaning towards the RE for awhile now and it's most likely the one I'm going to get. And nice those are awesome planes! I used to do engine swaps and structural work on twin Cessnas, primarily the 340's. I know we're in the same vein where a big part of my choice in motorcycle is how fun it is to work on - I love that the RE has modern tech in all the right places, but old school in that I don't need advanced software to reprogram IMUs or the like lol
@@johnjohnson5496 Man, you're right on. The INT650 is just a bike. No 3 riding modes, no heated grips, or an ignition system that has to read a fob even though the key is in. I was originally looking at the Honda CB500, then I knew I was getting the Triumph Bonneville T120. I got to ride the T120 & INT650 back to back at my dealer and hands down, no second thoughts, the INT650. It does have a fuel computer for fuel injection and ABS breaking, but other than that, just a plain simple bike. Little things like how to adjust the valve tappets are mechanically so simple on this bike. Please let me know what you buy and I would love to see your first RUclips be a #Shorts of you getting on it, starting and riding off into the sunset ;-)
@@MeAndMyRoyalEnfield Yea the CB500X was one of the contenders in my little motorcycle shopping gauntlet, and I was also looking at the Street Twin (just a little too pricey and I'm not a fan of throttle by wire), but like you said the Royal is a straight up motorcycle - I love the raw mechanical nature of it. And I'll see if I can make that happen, I'll time it so I can get the sunset in shot lmao xD
Plus with two 40 liter very full saddlebags, tent, sleeping bag, computer bag, my INT650 runs down the Texas highways 85-90mph no problem. One time with all that on, at sea level, just to see what she would do, I pinned it and she hit 105mph. That's because of the sixth gear. The gearbox was well designed with even torque through all gears.. She also loves doing doing the twisties ;-)

Would you happen to know where I could get a new clear face shield for that?
A dear friend gave me this years ago and I don't want to let it go, even more now that you and my brother have told me this is a bit of a collector's item. It does say SHOEI LAWSON all over it. My brother, Bones from Pro Circuit, was amazed that it is a Lawson and right now is giving me a history lesson about him. I love how some of these RUclips comments can lead to making RUclips friends 😃
My brother just showed me a RUclips, "Bike Hero - Eddie Lawson" and at 1:16 Eddie is talking with my brother.
Awesome video👍 awesome bike ❤️👍
Thank you for watching and the comment. I really appreciate it!
Hey I used to be an A&P myself!
Good !👍
Please note the Pinned Comment. I was wrong as a commenter pointed out. There is a Sump Strainer.
Thank you for watching and the comment.
Im also an aircraft mechanic
Cool, on what?
I'm in Harrison Arkansas. When & where would you like to meet up?
