What the MT09sp has in spades is overall balance, low weight/instant power/great handling/easy to ride/always fun. Sold my busa and bandits a few yeas ago (owned them many years) because they are pretty heavy and they thrive on triple digit speeds...bad for the CDL plus the busa was just not useable in the city. Got a Honda cb500x in 2019, it's a great useable package- relatively light yet very commanding and stable on back-roads, very comfortable, good wind protection, easy going easy to ride, great fun factor, 65 to 71 mpg, 275 mi. + range, superb urban commuter. I missed having the arm stretching torque of my old bikes tho so I added a '22 sp to go with the humble Honda and it's the absolute best combination of bikes I've ever owned in my 44 years riding and 62 years old. I've got a tracer 700 I really wanted to try something with a bit more fun factor. I would love an r1m because it's always been my bucket list to have an r1 and 2030 ban is looming, but reading your comment makes me really think the mt09sp is better all rounder and will get more enjoyment from it. I just don't know what to do maybe I'll get the 09sp and ride it for couple years and then I'll decide to have a midlife crisis and get an additional bike, the r1m. I can't sell my tracer because I love having the boxes as well can just throw all my kit in boxes and walk around anywhere

Oh my goodness! I"m just so freaking happy for you, and I hope I can get that, or any MT09 bike. Right meow I only saved up to 6% of the msrp of the bike. My estimate date of getting that bike is Oct 10 2024. at that time I would be able to get that bike out of the dealership without any finance, paid in full. By that time I hope the 2024 model would still be the same, adn there wouldn't be any issue trying to get in stock. I don't mind going all the way to Orlando getting, and driving it all the way back home 500+ miles. I just wish I could get it faster, I hate the wait. I did have 4grand from my old bike, but I had to use that for medical bills, and if I had that money I could have shorten the wait. That's just theway mylife is unlucky. Well, I can't be so down. I just have no choice but to be patient.
Honestly I don't feel any real difference between the base and SP. Just that it is more uncomfortable as the ride is rock hard. I wouldn't bother. But if you like the color I suppose it's an option. Cruise control on a hooligan bike, for me that's not usable honestly. But if you plan on touring on it I guess it can be comfortable. Nice video. Enjoy your bike.

Congrats brother! I didn't realize that the suspension is noticably different on these two bikes. I got the SP primarily for the colors and cruise control.
I went from CB650R to Yamaha MT09 -SP, And i cant get enough of the bike. You can also cancel the Cruise Control by turning the throttle the opposite side, try it. You can also increase and decrease speed with those buttons like in a car :D Please upload a video regarding suspension adjustment to rider, i still dont know how, and i would like to see a guide for it!
I could have had a 2022 MT-09 SP... bought a base 2021 MT-09 instead. After tweaking the available suspension settings and tire air pressures, it handles noticeably better, rides a good bit stiffer. I weigh 175-180, around 200 fully geared up. Maybe someday when my rear shock get worn, I'll go the K-Tech route.
I really wanted an sp but couldn’t get one I just have a base. I will say that on my 2014 fz09 I did a lot of track days with the $500 k tech shock and it performed great. Not saying the SP isn’t worth it. Congrats though!
So jealous… So freaking jealous! Lol. I wonder if the SP comes with the comfort seat. I know when I had my 2016, I bought the comfort seat and it was the best modification I ever made. Hands-down night and day difference on the old buttocks. Night and day.!!!!!!!!!
I couldn't afford the SP. I have too many toys as is. I'm really happy with the base model for now. I may get an SP when or if they update to a bigger screen
I think the important point is the time on bike when you have a day off of office.. So I'm happy to get a SP for the start of next season with a small screen, to have the brain and eyes at the street and nature

I have a 2022SP, you need someone to help you measure sag/preload and set that up before doing compression/rebound. It was much better after getting correct rider sag. Penske shocks has a write up on their website

@@yamayari8351 I’ve seen you on the Facebook page (subbed on YT before even seeing you there) and hopefully they work out those kinks to mass produce it. You’re pretty much the only MT09 channel I watch because I used to live in FL and now In Atlanta. I have the ‘22 MT09 and have all sliders, SP paint matching wind deflector, and made an ABS bypass switch so I can do rolling burnouts and slide the back tire around. Hopefully looking to install that Hyperpro steering stabilizer, the DNA Stage 2 airbox upgrade, and flash. I’m gonna be posting a video soon of how to make the switch since nobody else has done it except for the Tracers. But your videos have pretty much every detail I needed even when I replaced my rear tire. Keep doing what you’re doing, hopefully I’ll catch you on the road out there someday brother.

Dude, stop justifying your purchases, it’s okay to simply want a different bike. If you can afford it, does it really matter why you bought a different bike? Own as many as you can support / manage and enjoy. Friends have asked me why I’ve sold and bought many different makes and models, the simple answer, because I can. Ride safe, enjoy your new ride.
The last MT10 I road was a 2017, it was ok. Probably the new 2021 would be better. But between the 2017 MT10 vs the 2022 mt09 sp, I would say the MT09. Just my opinion.

Patient is the key, but I understand the frustration of waiting. But good things come to those who wait. So just stay the corse. It will happen!

You can turn off cruise by twisting throttle in the other direction or by hitting either of the brakes.

On the cruise control. Rolling the throttle forward ward turns it off a little more smoothly then hitting the off button or the break’s & clutch.

It really is a beautiful bike. Love my 2021 base model with a tune and Akra but if I go for another bike I was thinking about the MT 10.
