I feel depressed after speaking on the phone as I really struggle just to say my name. I feel better as the day goes on as I'm glad the phonecall is over. Hope you're keeping well Minka.

True. I know the feeling. I can feel terribly alone afterwards, though I CAN talk about it with my wife. Luckily thanks to social media like this we can get up and move on. Keep up the good work, Minka. You're the best.

Hi Minka, I'm happy that I found your channel :), I stammer especially in situations when talking in language which is not my native language (which English is apparently not :) , maybe I'm more relaxed when speaking in my own native language which is Finnish. My father had a stammer and also my grand mother from my father's side. My stammer was worse in school, when have to read out loud sentences from a book and when just speaking with my friends at school, it was horrible, felt so stupid.
My favourite movie is "The King's speech", absolutely touching movie and especially the scene where the King "Bertie" is in the Westminster Abbey with his speech therapist, and they had an argue, and the King shouted "I have a voice!" that scene gives me goose bumps every time.

When we make a presentation we feel so exposed. Some people empathize and encourage us, but then there are those who just want to put us down. The people who encourage us are so helpful. The others just make fools of themselves by making fun of people who have prepared and prepared and prepared, but for some reason had difficulty presenting it as well as they would have liked. I am so happy you found David as your soul mate. You show so much courage as you do these videos. No one better put you down. Maybe for you that might be an option. Make your presentations the way you make your videos. Edit them as you please and play them for the group and take questions afterward.

I think that the parts take make me down the most after a really bad stuttering experience are the embarrassment and the feeling that it should be so simple to just talk, but that freedom is taken by your own throat or in cases neurons I suppose. It's just kind of a powerless feeling to not be able to do one of the things that should come so naturally I guess.

It's a device like a hearing aid that plays audio feedback. It can be helpful for people, but for a short period of time. If used regularly, the brain gets used to it and compensates for the delay, and it doesn't help anymore. I would also imagine it would by quite irritating to essentially be deaf in one ear but also hearing your delayed voice. It's also extremely expensive.
Theres an iOS app for it, I believe its $20. You could also use the speech jammer app for free to practice.
