I'll do the F and J home row mod for Shift.
I did the Esc tap, and Capslock hold with the Capslock key.
And the |\ I don't seem to use ever, so I made that the Fn lock.
I got thumbkeys, so my enter and backspace is there together with the spacebar.

Really great video. I would have loved to hear the history behind and what the abbreviations QMK and VIA stand for. Maybe a follow up video for that and how that come to be mainstream

So I can program this keyboard to make it fit German format style like QWERTZ ?

Yeah if the keys are in the right place go nuts.
You could dedicate a layer to a language of you wanted.

On MacOS, I'm using karabiner-elements to remap keys & give them superpowers. I also have this Nuphy, but the Nuphy website has a health warning against using their mapping software with Apple Silicon Macs, so I've not tried that yet: didn't know about the VIA website -- thanks! I suppose flashing the keyboard would make the config change portable to different computers, but that's not a feature I need at the moment. Karabiner-elements handles everything I need for MacOS. Now, if I used this keyboard on a Linux system, flashing might be useful (although I assume there's a software solution there, too).

Nice showcase of open source firmware. Keyboard is pretty portable so you can take it and use on company workstations to use personal layout all the time.
Gonna buy one of new keychron wireless boards with qmk/via to replace my dead k8 non-backlight. Having option to flash third party firmware is great way to extend amount of years keyboard will be usable.

I'd like that, to see your journey on optimizing keyboard, I'd also like to that for myself
Unsolicited Advice: Also make a blog post (so it's easier to follow at my own phase when I try to do it to my keyboard)
P.S. No cost required, you could just use Bear Blog and share that to your channel

The plan is to make some more vids and then find the time to add them here: koaning.io/posts/keyboards
