Doctors prescribed statin drugs for me three times. Each time I had severe muscle pain, probably because I I exercise regularly. I feel grateful for the pain because I have been statin free and healthy for many years.
I had general muscle weakness especially noticeable when skiing, and that is easily perceived. But, can you perceive kidney or liver weakness? Statins are poison.
I was on statins for a while. I was in terrible pain and was tired all the time. Got rid of them. I didn't have high total cholesterol, it was less than 200, and my LDL was 101, which is 1 over the pharm's limit. After reading research and watching other doctors it appears that for secondary use, (no history of a heart attack), it is basically useless, I'll never take it again.
80 days into taking Atorvastatin, my BLOOD PLATELETS DROPPED FROM 160 TO 94 and I have myopathy. My cardio took me off the statin 7-1-2024 and going to run a battery of tests to see what damaged has been done. Will update
Sorry, I just saw this lecture from RUclips today. I am one of the unlucky ones who had muscle and joint pains from statins. I have done everything from switching to hydrophilic from lipophilic statin, from taking statin every other day to having statin holiday. None of these had worked. I am still miserable. I have been off statin for about 1 month now. I take ubiquinol and high dose Vit D. I try to exercise if I can. Is there anything else I can do? I am also a little confused about the recommendation that you gave with higher level of SAMS -CL score, the higher it is, you switch to lipophilic??? Don’t you switch to hydrophilic????
good for you Richard!! yes clearly the Majority of people do not suffer noticeable ill effects. Stinging nettle also lowers cholesterol. We have a system that 'locks up' solutions. if somethings unprofitable because it is plant derived, like artemisinin or whatever substance in nettle gets to market thats a miracle. often these lower risk products are just not worth a trial, so doctors can't prescribe them. brave new world.
I have been diagnosed with Statin-induced autoimmune myopathy for almost a year now. I stopped taking the statin but didn’t get better . I then have IVIG since last July 2021. While there are significant improvements for first 4 months and my CK level did go down, however, the progress has stopped after first four months and my CK level is now creeping up to more than my baseline when I was diagnosed. I am diabetic and have high blood pressure so steroid was not an option. I am beginning to feel hopeless . Is this even possible to be cure especially now the IVIG seems to stop working? Any idea or insight could be so helpful! Please doctor!
I'm so sorry to hear that. I can empathize your situation. Immunosuppressants are the treatment option next and once maintenance is properly achieved, patients can be gradually weaned off parts of the regimen as tolerated. Thank you.
@@leonaedwards7104 Yeah. Like gradually (over weeks) reducing carbohydrates down to 20g per day. May not help with the myopathy, but at least you don't have to worry about diabetes that much.
I've had high cholesterol for as long as I can remember but have refused to take statins. I am currently in perfect health, taking no medications at all. I've wanted to have the advanced lipid profile analysis test, which separates the good and bad LDL, but no dr will prescribe it.
Sir, my mom has been taking statins(rosuvas 10mg and fenofibrate 160mg) for ten years. She complains of calf cramps esp at night. Her cpk is 250(normal is 10-180) should we discontinue?

I stopped statins less than a month ago. How long until I no longer feel weak forearms and hands?

Great educational video. Thank you.
One of the most important things that sometime is lost is that my blood glucose dropped after I stopped using Lipitor.
Many statins are known to "increase risk for" diabetes over time. So that fits.
what is the dose of statin you used?

Have taken a statin for years with no side effects. I am skeptical of these critics/
You are fortunate friend!
Not every one who's on statins suffer from this. Thank you

your experience is unique. the adverse effects in millions are well documented
Sir Why did you say switch to lipophilic if score is above 5, arent they more muscle penetrating?
Sir I iwant to know that it is rare or common

You might want to look into a special diet.

Order it yourself!
@@annemurphy2046 i have a Medicare Part C plan, and it requires prior authorization. If I order it myself, I would need to pay for it out of pocket.
@@mikehughes6582 It’s cheap, like 73 bucks! And worth every penny.
@@annemurphy2046 I called the diagnostics center and they can't do it without a prescription from a doctor??? Wonder why?
@@mikehughes6582 Maybe find a keto-friendly doctor. They would most likely know about the advanced panels and also order one.

Cannot understand what you are saying … sorry
Thank you for the feedback. How can I help you ?
These should be banned period . Try the keto diet instead .No carbs , no sugars .
We cannot say that. They are quite useful drugs in many individuals.
