    17:36 So let's talk about the elephant in the room in regards to her divorce. Number one, she sounds like she's a stud. For those who don't know, that means a black lesbian butch. Chances are, whomever she was divorcing was a woman who probably thinks that they deserve the grand majority of your salary. So, chances are, this woman quit her job. In fact, this actually makes more sense. Regardless of the other things going on in her life, she most likely did not want to pay alimony. So, she most likely quit her job so she could minimize her losses. And being that she's a woman herself, she's hoping that hopefully the judge will treat her like a woman and give her a break. So you've got two people who in a way are getting a break. But God forbid, if she is a black lesbian and the other woman adopted or had a kid while they were married, she is screwed, especially as a high earner. This actually makes more sense as we go along.

She could quit her job, be okay, and not have to worry about getting by because of her skill set. Believe me, she makes what most of the people here in the comments are making probably in two weeks that it takes you all a year to make. So again, the caliber of person that we have here, she's able to quit whatever job she wants because whenever she wants to get back into whatever she's dealing with, she'll be able to do so easily, as opposed to someone with no skills. Because that's something most people here do not understand, especially for those who are college educated and have no skills. You could be college educated, but that doesn't mean you have the skill set for the workforce. You were probably educated in something, but really that doesn't mean anything if you have no skills. This person has skills. They could go wherever they want, and those skills will be valued. As opposed to, I don't know, a customer service worker who is able to get a minimum wage job and has to worry if they lose their job, if they'll be able to keep moving on as normal. She doesn't have that concern.

    I really wish she had sought FMLA for Mental Health reasons. I’ve known several people who have had their doctors to write them out of work for an extended period of time. She could have done a couple of months out while she got the counseling and therapy she needed and still had her job and benefits when she returned. There are laws that protect anyone who goes out on FMLA from losing their jobs or retaliation. At the same time, I do understand her why of wanting to go into business with her Dad and make even more money.

      FLMA is law for employers with more than 50 employees (she doesn't mention how many) and have accrued 1260 hours in. I dont think she was eligible for FMLA but who knows what the real deal was about. I'm starting to think that she took the job only for the resources: networking, software, processes, procedures, etc. then left to utilize all the information she obtained and started her own business. I aint hatin' but all that mental stress stuff doesn't add up. She had an agenda.

    3:05 No, that's not what golden handcuffs are. That's something completely different. So when you have golden handcuffs, usually it means you're an employee who is working for a company for a certain amount of time. So generally, anywhere from two to three years. And you will be paid a set amount of money through that time. Now, during this time, there are usually clauses if you quit what would happen or if the employer decides to fire you, what would happen. So generally, a person who has golden handcuffs is usually let go, but the employer is still going to pay them for the remainder of the contract, meaning if they're paid, let's say, 30K every month, that will continue until the contract ends. And at that point, you're allowed to work for someone else. So let's say you're a broadcaster. You're given a $3 million contract, which will be paid for a two-year term. Your employer decides they no longer want you on air, but they're not going to release you from your contract. So at this point, what's going to happen is they're going to give you golden handcuffs. So you're not allowed to work for anyone else, including yourself. So there's literally a non-compete clause in there and an NDA, because technically you're still under contract, but you don't have to produce any work. So that's where the term golden handcuffs come from, because usually when you're fired, you're fired. That's it. But when you've got golden handcuffs on, you literally not only have a non-compete clause, but you're still getting paid to literally do nothing.

    • @sjevents14
      @sjevents14 10 месяцев назад +1

      To add, sometimes it’s not a NDA or non-compete for less complex positions. But something as simple as vesting schedules for company matches or RSUs. I was confused by his definition of golden handcuffs too 😅. Yours is definitely accurate

    • @HisShadowX
      @HisShadowX 9 месяцев назад +1

      @@sjevents14 I think it might be shocking to you then that you could actually be a McDonald's worker, and I'm not saying these workers have golden handcuffs, but literally McDonald's workers or various other fast food workers actually sign sometimes in certain areas non-compete clauses where they can't work within the same industry. If you don't believe me, simply Google.
      But even for non-complex positions or lower paying jobs near minimum wage, you would be surprised to see NDAs being given to staff. I remember there was a private equity that I actually worked for and was in management and staff, as a requirement of employment, would have to sign NDAs.
      Keep in mind, this same company illegally classified their newly hired employees Call Center workers as independent contractors so the employer did not have to pay taxes on those employees. Of course, when a certain person within management cough cough helped these lower level employees on how to file what's called an IRS form, SS-8, and walked them through an Illinois law called the Wage Payment and Collection Act, they quickly changed this policy.
      But of course, there were still NDAs for those employees and also newly hired employees.

This shit is scammy, and grifty imo, and I don't believe it. I have been in I.T. for 25 years ,and it pisses me off that it is no longer treated as an elite venue, but as some sort of 'finesse to the bag'. Why is it only our people approaching the job market this way? Why not just learn a skill and get paid? Also what is it that people think 100k is? like a magic number? i make twice that at my 9-5, but I have been working a quarter of a century. Also why are we so ignorant to the fact that most of these jobs only became available since 2020 and ALL THE LAYOFFs that are happening now are those same people getting kicked out of jobs they really were not eligible for.

    Her lesson is that if you already have complete financial security and it's fine to leave a stable high-paying job for anther stable high paying job for which you have more passion. Frankly it's so simple that it's boring. That's why she needs a provocative title like "I quit 225K/Year Tech Job (The Ugly Truth About Remote Work)" to get people to click it. The problem is that not everyone reads articles or watches videos to get the context. So some percentage of people might be discouraged from going into high-paying stable remote work passed on her provocative title, thinking it's a bad thing when her video really says nothing of the sort.
    I kept waiting for her to talk about overbearing bosses not respecting the boundaries of her personal life, some form of harassment or toxic employer behavior of some kind. What we got was "I was going through personal shit, I'm already rich, and that company wouldn't give me a 4-month vacation, so I took my vacation and did my other job that pays me just as well or better." She has the luxury to do that from already being established, but to how many people does this message actually apply vs. how many people will misinterpret it?

At the end of the video she built a business with a Contacts so even if she didn’t have a mental health episode who’s to say she wouldn’t just quit build her business anyways? It’s not for the same for those who truly are in a financial pinch to just get up and quit just because of my mental health.

    That’s not what golden handcuffs means. It’s when you increase your lifestyle as your income increases to where you are forced to keep the position to maintain your lifestyle.

    I was just about to say this is the difference with men and women. Most men will drown themselves with work (if you are moderately successful).
    Anton brings up a good point about dealing with death. If they are in a better place, we should be going harder here on earth to make our living loved ones lives easier.

    That’s real easy for you to say because you’ve never truly hit rock bottom mental health wise. Why do you think so many rich people off themselves with all the money in the world! Because contrary to what you believe right now, there’s nothing more valuable than a peace of mind over money!
    Humble yourself sir, and don’t down talk am out how other had to help themselves in order to still be here.

    I don't think sis only went through mental health therapy. It may be apparent that she went through physical therapy from her operations to turn into a man. Her job was a face-to-face process to meet and retain top clients. Maybe, it wasn't feasible to shock the government clients and the firms he/she worked for. So he/she started over fresh with new clients that wouldn't know or have a clue. It starts to make sense now. More power to him/her....

    She works for the government and they will own you too if you get a government contract and yes you will have no time to do nothing else but make sure you come through with their contract they don't care about whatever else you're doing and then they'll take your ideas
