I never _ever_ had a problem with the Rocket Barrel levels, except maybe from checkpoints being set weirdly sometimes. 😅 But control-wise? Nope! 😋 Also you should not *hold* the A-button, you've got to tap it repeatedly in a certain rhythm. 😉
I have both games and I have to say I prefer the feel of returns. However it is almost indisputable that TF has better graphics but I find the bosses to be less impressive compared to returns. I think it would help if we got an animation after we defeat them before blasting them into space like in returns. Also I like the higher difficulty of returns and getting to 100 percent completion took days. Not to say TF is at all easy. But this is just my opinion.
DKCR Is just my favorite game. I'd love yo have a switch port, but O honestly think it's very unlykely, since there are already two versions of the game. Maybe in a few years tho, that would be awesome!
I personally love country returns as it was my first game alongside Wii Sports I ever got on the Wii and the Wii was my first console I really wish they would do a remake of returns for the switch.
@User 817 Yeah I get we're you are coming from. Freeze to me just seemed like they had too many ideas and ran out of time to implement any of them well. It was too ambitious in my opinion.
Returns to me is one of the most memorable games I have and the bosses are all different and memorable and each tiki has a different tone in there music. Tropical freeze is newer which gives it a big advantage over returns and having at leased one thing better means that the game itself is pretty good.which means returns did something right and freeze just branched of it, fixing any bugs or any unnecessary difficulties, like the controls.
I love returns, thats the one i grew up with, but freeze is just like objectively better in almost every way. Plus the final story island being a big homage to Returns but corrupted by the villains is just amazing
Even though Tropical Freeze has a better control scheme, I still firmly feel that Returns is a better game (after playing through both, along with DKC 1-3 on SNES).Returns' level designs and themes were much more memorable and also felt more organic. I also found it strange that, despite the island in Tropical Freeze being frozen, all but the final world is ice themed. I also found the final boss of Tropical Freeze very anti-climatic, I was actually asking myself if I was fighting the final boss.
I absolutely disagree. Tropical Freeze had more memorable level design and felt much more organic. The platforming is some of the best in the entire series and the game’s difficulty is just right without being obnoxiously hard. I get how you found the final boss of Tropical Freeze anticlimactic. It’s definitely a mixed bag, but I thought it was fine and actually really challenging overall.
@@quangamershyguyyz7166 Tropical Freeze has a noticable difference from Returns, and its directly related to the inclusion of a diverse character moveset. Im refering especifically to the plataforming difficulty. Compared to Returns, the plataforming feels more generic and accesible so all playable characters could get through. On top of the more "easy" plataforming, when using Dixie, the game difficulty lowers even more! This made Diddy and Cranky almost useless. Tropical Freeze also added super powers. That also made everything easier. In DK Returns, we only had DK and Diddy. The plataforming was way more severe and less generous, and required some sort of mastering. And in many obstacles, Diddy is mandatory for reaching puzzle pieces. Returns also offered more nostalgia. With the music and world themes. All that said, for me, DK Returns delivered an experience wich I enjoyed more than Tropical Freeze
@@quangamershyguyyz7166 Difiero. En el retuns, el juego parecía más nostálgico como volver a los dk clásicos. Los templos son mejores y la banda sonora es inigualable.
A badass blowhorn that SHOOTS GIANT DRAGONS MADE OF ICE - *AS PROJECTILES.* There's a reason this became my favorite game of all time within my second day of playing it.
How could he say the bosses in Tropical freeze weren't as memorable? There is a polar bear called Bashmaster eating a popsicle in the middle of a fruit factory whose theme is called "Punch Bowl". You also got yourself a fat pufferfish insecure about his own appearance, A baboon that can clone himself and summon the souls of his dead comrades, and a seal that can do circus tricks. I don't know man, but a lot of these fights seem insanely memorable to me.
I found Lord Frederick to be far harder than the already difficult tiki tong. I also preferred the tf bosses more overall. I found them to be more memorable with more interesting attacks. Either way many balloons were popped in the process of beating them all.
Agreed returns bosses were not that great and forgettable tiki tong being a generic final boss compared to the likes of federick and k rool who have much more interesting and more difficult/rewarding difficulty
The reason behind the tikis stealing the bananas is because they used it as fuel so they could sacrifise themselvels to give tiki tong hands and more powerfull
I'm pretty sure your supposed to tap the button relatively to elevate yourself on the rocket barrels, Holding the button would make it difficult to maintain a balance, that's probably why you've been finding it so difficult.
While I agree with you 101%, everyone is entitled to their own opinions I suppose. . . I myself actually was reminded about a couple of Returns bosses whilst watching this video though, which at least for me, kind of says a lot. Ha ha.
I enjoyed the Returns bosses but I still agree. I think I can only remember three or four of them. And of those bosses that I remember is the final boss. But I just got the switch version if Tropical Freeze on Friday and my brother and I finished it today so that game is probably a lot more fresh in my mind tho still lol. The only boss from Tropical Freeze that I didn't care for was the world four one. The world three one was okay.
Tropical Freeze IS better but they're both masterpieces, and TF does not have "a lack of meaningful bosses," that's taking it WAY too far lol. Also I actually really enjoy the Rocket Levels! Gear Getaway is my all time favorite DKC music track, period.
It's arguable I'd say, but I don't mind the argument existing in general. More importantly, you should really go back and play the originals. . . DKC 1 and 2 in particular, if you haven't planned on doing so already. Well worth the ride.
Nah. With the amount of tracks and the variety and the studio quality of Tropical Freeze's soundtrack, there's no way I'm being convinced that DKC2's soundtrack is still better. I don't even think that DKC2 destroys the others games. I come back to DKC1 and DKC3's soundtrack just as much as 2's.
Diddy's Kong Quest destroys every other DK game in almost every way, including Tropical Freeze. Tropical Freeze does use modern graphical techniques. But past that Diddy'd Kong Quest is by far the superior game. Tropical Freeze's music is not bad at all. I really enjoyed it and it fit in well with the game and harmonised with the on screen action. One of the better soundtracks and I could catch myself humming to outside the game. However Diddy's Kong Quest soundtrack as you correctly said is on a whole other level. It's a masterpiece. David Wise and Grant Kirkhope are composers on the level of genuis similar to others like Koji Kondo. The DKC2 soundtrack really is a masterpiece and very few games ever come close to it musically. One of the major parts of the DKC2 soundtrack is the sound effects mixed in with the music. You can listen to the soundtrack and totally get a feel of the area of the game that piece comes from. The insect and frogs noises really show that you're in a swamp. The sea hitting the boat and the wind really make that specific piece sound like you are on a ship. And so on and so on, for most of the tracks. That attention to detail to really immerse us in the atmosphere with that blend of music and sound effects, pure brilliance. As an aside, the SNES sound chip was not that good. Competing consoles had much better sound hardware chips in their consoles. However those making games for Nintendo had great composers to make great use of what the SNES had to offer. These composers were the difference. Also note well 2. Retro don't exist to make masterpieces, though Metroid Prime was a masterpeice. Retro are the hospital for dying Nintendo franchises. Nintendo outsource the ressurection of these dead franchises to Retro. Retro in both cases, Metroid and DK have succeeded. Sure Tropical Freeze overall is not the best game ever, it achieved it's goal of making a decent game that is selling well now. DKC1's soundtrack is more ambience than anything else. It works well and suits the game but it's nothing truly groundbreaking. They worked amazingly well in game to make you feel like you're part of that world and area. But outside the game they are not tracks you'd listen to over and over. DKC3 on the other hand feels more like a traditional soundtrack. Less like music and ambience/SFX blended together (DKC2) and pure ambient tunes designed purely for player aural immersion (DKC1). I'd say Yooka-Laylee is most like DKC3 musically. The DKC3 soundtrack is still good, but I do think adding in a few more sound effects to help solidify what area you're in (like how they did it in DKC2) would have helped a lot. *** I would easily pre-order/buy a modern remake of Diddy's Kong Quest. As long as the music was remade and not remixed. Redo the original sounds at a higher quality. That's it. Remixes of the tracks would totally destroy the feel Wise and Kirkhope had for the game. Sure, I've heard some brilliant DKC2 remixes over the years but yeah they are not the original vision for the game. Though if you're remaking DKC2, might as well remake all 3 games. That trilogy would sell. Simply because the Virtual Concole is dead in it's current form and the SNES Classic does not have all 3 games on it.
Nintendo doesn't seem to care enough about DKC to do that. They probably only ported Tropical Freeze so they could actually get a profit out of it like with Returns.
WTF I'm Reading?I found tropical freeze way harder than returns...the levels are longer and more challenging, the k levels are a bit harder and the bosses are way harder than the returns one...and the secret world(world 7) Is super hard!
@g-fourgaming8657 but on the 3ds verson dk and diddy has 3 hearts more items at crankys shop and has more levels on world 9 instead of one level and in mirror mode dk have to hearts instead of one heart so you won't die instantly every time you have a single hit.
I think that the level design, visuals, and extra characters in tropical freeze are vastly superior to Returns. But it's the everything else that makes Returns better for me personally. The music, story, motion controls, and voices (for Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong especially) were much better for me in Returns.
Tropical Freeze vs any of the SNES DKC Trilogy games. Sorry Tropical Freeze, but you don't win that battle. The SNES trilogy was totally amazing. Especially Diddy's Kong Quest. That game DKC2 was so good, it crazy. So much so that apart from the lack of raw modern graphics that Tropical Freeze has, DCK2 is superior in every other way. I bought Tropical Freeze on Switch, full price and I honestly think even today, Diddy's Kong Quest is better value for money. In 2018, I would be more willing to pay more to re-buy Diddy's Kong Quest than I would Tropical Freeze. Sorry Retro. Tropical Freeze is good but it's lacking all the magic that RARE put into the SNES trilogy.
the8thark I don't agree with that, while I love the original trilogy, Tropical freeze bosses, level design and music are just in a new level. I kinda get when people say Returns lacked the magic of the original trilogy (or 2 and 3 to be more especific), but I just don't see that in TF.
oscarzx n The final Tropical Freeze boss is a good example of a bad boss. The attacks you have to dodge in each phase are just harder versions of previous phases, no variety. Secondly there's no clear window to hit the boss. You have to get good at jumping on his back while avoiding his crown as he slides towards you. And finally the boss is not split up into clearly designed phases the player can get better and better at. As long as you get hearts when you need them you'll be ok. Really if you get lucky with the heart drops that can lessen the skill required to beat the boss quite a lot. It's simply a case of learning the pattern and getting lucky to avoid the crown when hitting him. The DKC 2 final boss (Airship here. Not the secret world) is a much better boss. It's cleatly designed into 3 obvious phases. Each phase is totally different, no repetition and within each phase you start with an easy wave of canon balls to dodge and they get harder and harder. Getting the DK barrel at the end of phase 1 and 2 is a clear indication that you have to have enough skill to pass each phase. There's no RNG health pickups to abuse. Also when you have the canonball and are ready to hit him, you have to throw it into his gun at the right time. At that moment the game has told you, you've avoided all the projectiles and you have earned the opportunity to hit the boss. The boss can't hit you while you're trying to hit it (like in the Tropical Freeze final boss). Though I will say the final post hit last shot from KRool in this fight is hard to jump over. It's really fasy and delayed just enough to mess you up. Level design, I'd say DKC2 is better again. DKC2 does the standard design of introducing a new mechanic with no danger to the player, to learn the mechanic then slowly adds on the dangers. Also the enemies actually fit in with the stages and make sense. In Tropical Freeze they don't. The bee hive level in Tropical Freeze really got to me. Why would bees be carrying sections of grass/turf for DK to cling to? Also where's the honey or bees wax? Aesthetically very out of place in Tropical Freeze. Also two minor points about Tropical Freeze. There's no larger overworld, connecting the island maps together. The secret world, it's like 3 stages. They felt ripped straight out of Rainbow Road Mario 64 or similar. That's probably down to each person's opinion, I didn't like the look of those 3 stages, but others might. Still only 3 stages and after that, hard mode is unlocked. That's it. No final final boss like in DKC2 and DKC3's secret world. The bonus stages in Tropical Freeze are repetative and do not fit in with the aesthetic of each level. You just collect bananas in a cave of sorts. Rinse and repeat. Doing the exact same bonus stage a few times over in different game levels, yeah didn't feel fun by the end. DKC2 (and DKC3 also I think) had unique bonus stages, each one was different and they all aesthetically fit in with the overall level they were situated in. A disappointment in Tropical Freeze. Unique and interesting bonus stages were possible on the SNES, but not in Tropical Freeze? That's yet another reason why the RARE-like magic is absent from Tropical Freeze. Rambi was used alright I guess in Tropical Freeze. Mind you no DKC game ever used the animals well, apart from the famous Bramble Scramble I guess. Still no other ridable animal buddies in Tropical Freeze? Not saying that's bad, but that's an interesting choice. I'd really like to know why Retro chose not to use them, and instrad have all those rocket riding stages instead. RARE were smart with DKC2. Most aesthetics types were featured in 3 stages at most. 3x bee hive stage in the game, 3x bramble stage in the game etc etc. Tropical Freeze overuses certain stage aesthetics. Especially in the K stages that all share the same base aesthetic. I think I'll end this now, I've rambled for far too long, haha. I stand by my words when I say Tropical Freeze lacks the that little magic that the old SNES trilogy had (most notably in DKC2).
Tropical Freeze is phenomenally better than Returns, it's pretty much one of the greatest (first-party) 2D platformers created! Definitely double-dipped day 1!
What happens if you try to play DK Country Returns on the Wii U? Can it be controlled using the gamepad or do you still have to use motion controls with a wii remote?
I hate that topical freeze gave two hearts to karts and rockets... The instant death in those areas of returns was both realistic and challenging... Returns wins that category in my mind
Country Returns was way better. The bosses where badass, and the Tiki's were better than the Kremlins, i liked the soundtrack, so many memorable moments of that game. I love the forest world, especially that level where you get chased by those many bugs. Tropical Freeze was good, and was an awesome game, but it wasn't really like Country Returns, i was just like "meh" but it was good. Country Returns had pretty badasses bosses, and probably a badass defeat for them. Donkey Kong punching that Thugly thing in the belly with that music was pretty badass. And that RobotChick was awesome. I enjoyed Country Returns more than Tropical Freeze. Original always beat the newer. I think i'm the only one who prefers Country returns.
6:57 "One of my main gripes with Donkey Kong Country Returns was its lack of underwater levels and segments." Well that's weird. Who would've thought somewhat would lament the lack of underwater gameplay in a platforming game? People hate underwater gameplay! It's one of the most infamous aspects of any game to complain about.
Hi Commonwealth Realm, I got a request for a funky kong birthday video and am currently looking for funky kong ingame footage to use as b-roll. would you mind if I use some of your funky kong clips? not more than maybe 10 sec, I will credit in the description
2010 - 2014 - 2018?? I will definitely not be dissappointed if at E3 it's announced that Retro has been working on a new DKC game and it gets released this holiday. DKC TF was pure plattforming joy!
I bought DKC Tropical Freeze & I like it so far. I realized they had a Funky Kong mode & decided to play that before going into regular mode with DK, Diddy, Dixie & Cranky lol
Well you have to consider the hardware those games were on. Obviously returns forces you to use motion controls, it's a Wii game, that was the whole point of the Wii remote, and for a kid that was actually pretty fun. Also, I kinda prefer how it felt on the Wii, not having HD graphics and having to use the "2" button of the Wii remote made it feel heavier, which is exactly how a gorilla is in real life, but maybe I'm just romanticizing. Water levels are controversial, honestly I don't go mad for them, generlly prefering classic platforming. The fact that in Returns you're unlocking new areas within the Kong island connects you more with game, it feels more like you're DK on a journey to take his island back, whereas in Tropical Freeze what you got is a bunch of smaler islands without much connection with each other or with the charachter. Plus, enemies felt more creative in Returns, inTropical Freeze they mainly stick to the viking theme which can get boring after a while, and the look is just better on Returns, much like Galaxy looks better than 3d world despite it running in HD. Finally, I don't know how much you can blame Returns for having just one sidekick, after all this was the first new DK, they basically had to completely reinvent the entire concept of the series, for Freeze they already had pretty solid bases to work on and simply needed to expand them, and were even given a second chance with the switch's port. All in all, Returns regave birth to an almost dead franchise, taking therefore more risks, and it deserves that credit
My personal opinion on motion controls in the two games: They don't have to be interesting or cool, because they are often simply pretty convenient. Also i think the rocket barrel levels are quite "easy" when you tap the a/b button repeatedly to maintain your altitude. The minecart levels are much more annoying to me. I did love DKCR and for now i'm "only" in 4-1 on Tropical Freeze but both games are great and i just love the fact that they brought back David Wise for the soundtrack (i only wished that i could buy the soundtrack somewhere >.
Just download it. Someone out there uploaded the files as they are in the game (so you're getting everything and at the same quality it is stored in the game), and it's not like Nintendo would do justice to it by releasing a comprehensive album.
While most gamers hate underwater levels, In Donkey kong, it is vastly different. They are not as boring. I mean take anyone who plays super Mario world and ask them what their favorite level is. NO ONE will say an underwater level. Now while i doubt anyone will say an underwater level in donkey kong, it would not be a huge surprise if they did.
Now I want to get Tropical Freeze on the Switch, so I can actually complete it! I had it on the Wii U, but it was so difficult that I never beat the first stage, so I could be in use of a Funky Mode!😂
Myamoto thinks he's such revolutionizer that he forced waggle controls onto returns. Also I think tropical freeze wins the music category simply because in returns they were remixes of the original games, which were composed also by David wise.
David wise did the soundtrack for tropical freeze. The soundtrack has been acclaimed for being one of the best if not the best soundtrack in the dkc series.
Lo puedes remasterizar en emulador de wii con un buen pc. Y si, el retuns es mejor, por muchos factores... Pero 2 de ellas? Que tiene mejores templos y mejor banda sonora.
I only played DKC Returns so far, but I wil buy Tropical Freeze for the Switch. That end boss was indeed no walk in the park. I think I started around 85 lifes and ended with less than twenty. I think I had to retry more than sixty times to beat the dude.
Tropical Freeze was a decent challenge but not overwhelming, but I could see how the more casual Nintendo players would struggle with the game. Funky mode was great for that, although I've personally never touched it.
I got it Friday when it came out. I like it I enjoy it but it's not keeping me In it .like Bayonetta. Zelda breath of the Wild. Or Dragon Quest builders I assume that once I get into it more it might keep me interested
Roast me if you want, but I think the rocket barrel challenges in both games are fine. If you find the right rhythm to stay at the same level. *though some of the falling stuff can feel like BS
DKCR is more of nostalgia. the controls are faster and more arcade games feel like rares games. DKCR also has a simpler level design and is more reminiscent of old games. DKCTF is more like a standalone part. Returns are like DKC4. TF is good but Returns wins.

I think it would help if we got an animation after we defeat them before blasting them into space like in returns. Also I like the higher difficulty of returns and getting to 100 percent completion took days. Not to say TF is at all easy. But this is just my opinion.
"Your guess is as good as mine"? You don't need to guess, you're clearly shown why the tikis are stealing the bananas in the final area...
ChesuMori - maybe he didn't want to spoil it for people like me who haven't played yet?
I'm pretty sure he either forgot or didn't understand what he was seeing...
What are the odds of returns coming to the switch with a visual upgrade and new controller options?
DKCR Is just my favorite game. I'd love yo have a switch port, but O honestly think it's very unlykely, since there are already two versions of the game.
Maybe in a few years tho, that would be awesome!
I'm pretty sure it came to a recent Chinese console without the motion controls... Might be worth looking into
You forgot that returns had a 3ds port.
My brother got it for Wii U for Christmas. Now it’s on switch. It’s fun, and a nice gift, but I feel like it is better suited on the Switch.
They’re nearly identical. Only difference is funky mode. No reason to but switch version if you have Wii U one
Spoilers:
The Final Boss of Tropical Freeze is a giant Viking Walrus with a badass blowhorn. Automatic win.
HeavyDonkeyKong no shit...like wtf: piece of shit vs viking sooo yes lol :/
A badass blowhorn that SHOOTS GIANT DRAGONS MADE OF ICE - *AS PROJECTILES.*
There's a reason this became my favorite game of all time within my second day of playing it.
Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze Bosses are so memorial. I like all the bosses and each one beat me countless times even on funkey mode.
@@thesnatcher3616 yeah Bashmaster is like the most memorable boss of the new games, it's just a perfect fight and even better than the final boss
rocket levels are the best. you guys are just too busy and too frustrated with them to actually learn them
Agree haha, I just love them
In the factory new tikis are made out of bananas.
Cranky is DK's grandfather, you even pointed that out in the DK timeline
JOSEPH!!!
Commonwealth Realm Sorry babe.
The reason behind the tikis stealing the bananas is because they used it as fuel so they could sacrifise themselvels to give tiki tong hands and more powerfull
I'm pretty sure your supposed to tap the button relatively to elevate yourself on the rocket barrels,
Holding the button would make it difficult to maintain a balance, that's probably why you've been finding it so difficult.
Country returns is one of my fav games of all time
I come back to it every year
Dude, I can hardly remember the bosses from _Returns_. The bosses from _Tropical Freeze_ are definitely more memorable than they are.
While I agree with you 101%, everyone is entitled to their own opinions I suppose. . . I myself actually was reminded about a couple of Returns bosses whilst watching this video though, which at least for me, kind of says a lot. Ha ha.
Creo _Returns_’ bosses simply being ordinary animals possessed by the Tiki Tak Tribe *really* didn’t help their case.
I fully agree. Tropical Freeze in the boss and enemy category in general triumphs > Returns.
Are u kidding me? Do you not remember the tiki themes? The banjo the panflute the accordion? We must not have played the same game
My favorite comparison video ever
I love how you introduce this videos "product provided....byyyyyy ninteeendo....ohhh yeah"
Tropical Freeze IS better but they're both masterpieces, and TF does not have "a lack of meaningful bosses," that's taking it WAY too far lol. Also I actually really enjoy the Rocket Levels! Gear Getaway is my all time favorite DKC music track, period.
I wish tropical freeze had just one island and not like 7 islands it's satisfying to see such a giant island
If there was a music category diddys Kong quest would destroy any other dk game
Never played that game before, but the music must be hella good if that's the case.
It's arguable I'd say, but I don't mind the argument existing in general.
More importantly, you should really go back and play the originals. . . DKC 1 and 2 in particular, if you haven't planned on doing so already. Well worth the ride.
Tropical Freeze is easily on the same level when it comes to music quality.
***
I would easily pre-order/buy a modern remake of Diddy's Kong Quest.
Tropical Frezze has a much better Music selection than Returns
These are the two greatest games ever.
Damn, I want Returns Port on Switch with HD graphic and normal controls. It's an awesome game. Almost as good as TF. But much harder :)
It could've been bundled with The Tropical Freeze switch port. Oh well.
I recently beat the last boss of Returns in one try... Tropical Freeze took slightly longer...
You forgot you can play returns on the 3ds
But the frame rate is bad on it.
Now onto the real Game Vs Game...
TROPICAL FREEZE VS 64 😂
I think Banjo Kazooie VS DK 64 would be a better fit, personally. Tropical Freeze could go against Rayman Legends or Mario Bros U
Tropical Freeze wins because is actually fun.
I kinda get when people say Returns lacked the magic of the original trilogy (or 2 and 3 to be more especific), but I just don't see that in TF.
oscarzx n
The final Tropical Freeze boss is a good example of a bad boss.
Wow i Love your Vids guys they're getting better and better
I grew up on country returns on the original wii and I have so many memories
Tropical Freeze is phenomenally better than Returns, it's pretty much one of the greatest (first-party) 2D platformers created!
Definitely double-dipped day 1!
You disgust me
Nah it’s not better than returns
@@ispikemike Yes, it is. Better music, better levels, and better level variety. DKCR was just New SMB Wii with DK's clothes
3:30 Lol I loved it as a kid, didn't even notice it now looking back xD
So you're saying tropical freeze is BETTER? Because it's LESS CHALLENGING? Wow... I don't even need to say anything more than that
I can agree the Funky Kong gives Tropical Freeze the W
What happens if you try to play DK Country Returns on the Wii U? Can it be controlled using the gamepad or do you still have to use motion controls with a wii remote?
I hate that topical freeze gave two hearts to karts and rockets... The instant death in those areas of returns was both realistic and challenging... Returns wins that category in my mind
I love em both, especially the returns bosses so i'd love to see that one on switch....will it happen....maybe
I 100% agree
6:57 "One of my main gripes with Donkey Kong Country Returns was its lack of underwater levels and segments."
Well that's weird. Who would've thought somewhat would lament the lack of underwater gameplay in a platforming game? People hate underwater gameplay! It's one of the most infamous aspects of any game to complain about.
Not for DKC

Hey guys.

Beautiful job guys
2010 - 2014 - 2018?? I will definitely not be dissappointed if at E3 it's announced that Retro has been working on a new DKC game and it gets released this holiday. DKC TF was pure plattforming joy!
5 years ago.....
Can we play the DK Country from the original SNES on the Switch?
Jason Reid hopefully soon
Cristiano Euronaldo I hope so as much as I like tropical breeze I still miss playing DK country I hope they will let us know soon
Cranky is not donkey Kong ' s dad. He is his grandpa
0:39 "a RARE priveledge" ... was that intentional?
;)
Totally agree with you on the bosses. I really enjoyed the bosses in DKTF but they should to put 1 or 2 on a moving level to have the perfect bosses.
Question is donkey Kong country returns a button masher for the wii u like it is on 3ds. It's also time for funky kong to get his own story
Donkey Kong Country vs Donkey Kong Country 2 vs Donkey Kong Country 3
Come on, Tropical Freeze has much more creative and better music!
I could download a lot of stuff illegally but i don't want to.
Yeah I try not to, but in the case of Tropical Freeze there isn't really any other option.
This still doesn't mean you have to get it in an illegal way.
D2dalCE
True, but then you wouldn't have it at all.
You must be really bad at games lmao
@Logan McGlynn Yeah, I sucked at the game. I would probably do better now, but I don't think 2D platforming is for me!
Returns is great tropical freeze is amazing
Myamoto thinks he's such revolutionizer that he forced waggle controls onto returns.
Also I think tropical freeze wins the music category simply because in returns they were remixes of the original games, which were composed also by David wise.
Tropical Freeze music I think is definitely a bit better. Nothing quite like David Wise. Returns still sounds good though.
David wise did the soundtrack for tropical freeze. The soundtrack has been acclaimed for being one of the best if not the best soundtrack in the dkc series.
Am I the only one that thinks returns destroys tropical freeze for multiple reasons and should be remastered?
Good news buddy
And yet the OG DKC 1&2 trump these two games.
It's a cakewalk compared to Dkc1 and 2 IMO. Kaptain K Rool took me about three hours to beat.
i liked Returns a lot better
I love donkey Kong country returns it’s better then donkey Kong country tropical freeze
I got it Friday when it came out. I like it I enjoy it but it's not keeping me In it .like Bayonetta. Zelda breath of the Wild. Or Dragon Quest builders I assume that once I get into it more it might keep me interested
The levels get more and more interesting the more you play, trust me.
I got it Friday night and finished it just now with my brother. I honestly find it to be super addicting.
DKC is NSMB but better
Roast me if you want, but I think the rocket barrel challenges in both games are fine. If you find the right rhythm to stay at the same level. *though some of the falling stuff can feel like BS
cranky king is donkey Kong's grandfather
how are there still people that don't know that the Wii version can be played with the classic controller patch.
Donkey Kong Country Returns has a better epic ambiance and feels like an adventure. when Tropical Freeze is a lot more fun and upbeat.
DKCR is more of nostalgia. the controls are faster and more arcade games feel like rares games. DKCR also has a simpler level design and is more reminiscent of old games. DKCTF is more like a standalone part. Returns are like DKC4. TF is good but Returns wins.
