The real world price on a 6600xt in its year of launch vs the price of the 1080ti in its year of launch is a pretty big gap lol. Ah I miss those days, being able to build an entire high end pc for the price of a 3080ti.

Thank you for this review. It's exactly what I was needing to see. I just bought six of these 6600XT Red Devils for dirt cheap $113ea for 3 and $140,140 and 150. I still have a 1080Ti in my son's 5600x/B450 system and his Train Sim 2 game runs better on the 1080ti on Gen3 then this 6600XT. I have 1 extra 6600XT in the box that I could swap out for the 1080Ti and sell that off. Lots of power savings but his power supply and case can handle the heat. Just not sure what to do with this much newer card vs the 1080ti. Which to sell.

RX is better in DX 12 because it has better hardware and with DX 12 you can better work with games on even lower level.
I mean...yes GTX has more shaders but these are less efficient, RX has better performing cache system and it has a huge frequency difference.
DX 11 works better on Pascal because NVIDIA had better software in comparison to say Polaris.
So saying that higher shader counts brings better performance is similar to saying that CPU with higher core counts will perform better...and yes that's true that more core equal better performance but that's only a tip of the iceberg in CPU design and manufacturing.

Well it's all about price. I just replaced 2x 1070 and 3x 1080's with 6600xt and I basically broke even in price. Maybe $40 out of pocket if that. replaced with 6600XT Powercolor Red Devils. The 6600XT is faster even on Gen3 then the 1080. 1080ti is a closer match and for older games the 1080ti can still out pace the 6600XT. Debating now what to do with the 1080ti I have in one of the systems as I have 1 6600XT with no home. Sell the old 1080ti or the much newer 6600XT for the 5600x/B450/32gb/1440p system?

best is to use titanium 850 watts or 1000 watts platinum.. More wattage less spend of electricity bills. why ? if u take 650 watts it will will run on 700 watts sometimes and u will have not any more 80gold u will have worst power supply ever. IF u use 1000 watt supply platinum and system goes to 700 watts of usage sometimes,... it will spend less electricity. Simple. Never spend low end psu for high end gpu, 1080ti, 6600xt needs only 650 wats and u can not OC because it is already clocked to max. Better to wait for few time or buy used r9 290x it will do enough for all gaming. as you can see in my profile.

Type in cmd cd .. cd ... press alt GR and number 255 and add it in md and read it with space.. u can not. And type after c:\format.exe because of low iq. IF you are an expert how much wattage you need when u oc memory cpu, motherboard, gpu when u game 8 hours with 8 case fans. And how much wattage needs to put from gpu to Monitor when u have 240hz monitor and how much wattage spends keyboard and mouse with 1000hz poling rate.. constant 8 hours per day gaming ? Ur computer will crash sooner or later and die before u know that. PSU need to be expensive.. otherwise u do not need it if u use build in gpu. Like i say 6600xt u need 650 watts. 1080ti, titanium psu 850 watts if u want to oc good. OR 1000 platinum, they got same performance. And how much wattage goes directly from the wall to the pc ? Did u know that ? After hours of gaming.. 24/7 turn it on your computer for 1 month and try to game, with low end psu. BLUE SCREENS ERRORS everything kernel... problems with network card memory problem Kernel GPU CPU overheating.. u have no clue.. so How many hours u spend on working with computers? @@DJ.1001 he did tho, PSU is indeed one of the most important thing in PC components aside from the CPU, GPU, and RAM. It's the heart, it delivers the blood aka the power. And if the "heart" doesn't delivers the blood stably, effectively and efficiently, then you would end up with a faulty system that would prone to break anytime. Effectively kiiling all the components inside.

6600xt is seriously bottlenecked by it's 128-bit memory interface. It has a ridiculously low bandwidth. It's probably why the 1080ti still keeps up with newer mid tier GPU's, because even if it's an older gen GDDR5X memory, it has a monster 352-bit interface which gives it high bandwidth at the cost of higher power consumption(and more heat).
If the 6600xt would be on 256-bit, it would even be a decent 1440p card.
