      To Camel
      I noticed 2 Things that even YOU missed that you might be interested in knowing, the first a theory, the second can be confirmed by visiting The Elder Scrolls wiki page.
      1) That fanged mouth with the forked tongue on Sheogorath's regalia that you mentioned looks like some kind of biker style tattoo, seems attached to something to the right of it when viewing this video that makes it look like a creature's head, almost something Lovecraftian, could be a Hunger with their long tongues and bulbous heads, they're rather fitting of the imagery.
      2) For the New Sheoth Graveyard, Bhisha actually has a 2nd possible epitaph, and is the ONLY NPC in The Shivering Isles who has more than one available to them, that reads as follows: "In memory of sweet, harmless Bhisha" that spawns on his tombstone if he is killed before or after the quest "Ushnar's Terror".

    Fun fact: If you do Sheogorath's Daedric quest and do NOT have Shivering Isles installed, Sheo will have a completely different voice, as it wasn't voiced by Wes Johnson in the original game, before Shivering Isles was released. Pretty small detail that often gets missed, since Shivering Isles was out only a year after Oblivion got released. Nevertheless, there are videos on RUclips covering Sheogorath's old voice acting if anyone is interested in hearing it.

    "The Missing Pauldron" I believe actually refers to the fact that, in the base game of Morrowind (no Bloodmoon, no Tribunal), it is impossible to get a complete set of Daedric armor (without stealing). The one piece that is absent from the full set is the Daedric Left Pauldron. (could be the right, but I'm pretty sure it's the left) Because of this, unless you either kill Divaythe Fyr or (more wisely) disintegrate his armor and punch him unconscious so you can steal it off of him, it is impossible to get a full set of Daedric armor in base Morrowind due to a missing pauldron :P

    The Shivering Isles is by far my favorite Elder Scrolls expansion. I remember the first time playing it while exploring it when I entered the city of Bliss my character which was a male khajiit just happened to be staring at a Golden Saint as the message of discovering the city which simply reads 'you found Bliss' came on the screen. My sisters found it hilarious at the timing when that message came up. Also about Sheo's regalia what appears like a wolf might not be a reference to wolves but to hyenas. What animal would Sheogorath probably love the most to have on his isle but an animal that uses maniacal laughter for communication like the hyena (he'd probably love Kookaburros too). Ironically though while we see laughter as humorous for hyenas their 'laugh' call is used to express anxiety and stress not very much for joy.

    That puncture in Sheogorath's back as said before - might be symbolic to the betrayal of the other gods. Or, you know, there's a dead man at the site where you fall from great heights if you try to attack him in any way and he teleports you there. Next to this man lies a dagger, which had no apparent meaning before until you pointed this out. Food for thought, ta!

    • @mr.meanwhile
      @mr.meanwhile 2 года назад +4

      Might also be because Sheogorath is the only one allowed to have a beard in his realm, that this man got so upset by the order of shaving it that he used the same dagger to try and stab Sheogorath in the back. There's a note on his body that's labeled "Death Degree" and it states that he was punished because of trying to grow a beard. Not much else is known but I take it as open for speculation

    I think Sheogorath's dragon and snake sleeve is just a snake shedding its skin
    Before the Shivering isles DLC the sheogorath statue had a different voice actor which is very different from what made Sheogorath popular with the voice of Wes Johnson.

Well, at least not in an easily reversible way. A "burden" effect was unable to be used without it showing up in both the journal and the player UI, and just changing player weight up and down was buggy when we tried it. So adding and removing a ring that can't be seen was way easier than making a whole damn script from scratch for immobilization which is way more difficult than you might think. The more you know!

    Snakes represent Lorkhan, whereas birds represent Auriel (maybe Trininac too) and dragons represent Akatosh. The bird slays the snake just as in the creation myth. The phoenix represents Auriel ascending to Aetherius. And I may be misremembering but Michael Kirkbride may have said that Sheogorath is the 'shadow of Akatosh'. It is fitting that the madgod is complementary to creation myths, as he is the counterpart to what exists physically, the god of not-there. Sheogorath is also well versed and takes advantage of the power of symbolism and mythopoeia, using the symbols of Mundus in his own plans, the most obvious being the Enantiomorph to make the new madgod.

      At some point, Todd got into the habit of simplifying things in both gameplay and the setting. Ironic given his habitual hypemongering and the start of his career at Bethesda.
      He'd even started it by the time of Oblivion, at least according to Michael Kirkbride, who claims we have Todd to blame for turning Cyrodiil from a funky Roman Jungle dotted with Ayleid towers and crisscrossed with rivers into temperate forest Lord of the Rings land. Because LOTR movies were popular then, you see.
      He's also the reason Skyrim went from a land full of wild mages weaving wind and ice magics the like of which are seen nowhere else, with average joes knowing the Thu'um, to Viking Game of Thrones. Because Game of Thrones was popular then, you see.
