@Jan_Iedema its just a heavy model kit most stands can't handle the weight, but its so beautiful that its precense on a shelf is enough for any fan of the kit
Gundam Ghost did not disappoint! But considering Jobby's feelings for building Gunpla, we might not see GG's full appearance again until next year's Xmas 👀
Honestly that would be great way to keep Grubby Gundam Fans like me watching, if he promises to build at least one Gundam a year but only at Christmastime.
Of all the kits I've built so far, the Master Grade Barbatos was the one I enjoyed the most. I'd recommend that. For a transforming kit the ZZ Ver Ka is great as well.
I know sometimes the hobby can get annoying but when you get done with the frustration and raginducing parts fubling, breaking, and just straight up not wanting to fit into the spot. You get the finished product and you feel satisfied and proud of your accomplishment that's why i keep building and putting them together. Because to me it's always worth it in the end
The Moderoid Mazinkaiser Liger disproves that thought. Pegs that won't peg post that won't post, hell I had to bite down on some parts just to get them to fit. It was a bad time. It was even missing a piece.
Hell, the RG RX-78-2 nearly made me quit, and it was the 3rd kit I'd ever done after my first 2 HG kits. I will never forget the pain I suffered putting the arms together, only to have them nearly disassemble themselves every time I move them (I had not yet learned of early RG syndrome). But when I finished it, I always looked upon my accomplishment with but a single thought: "Thought you could make me quit didn't you, huh? I won.". I still enjoyed the learning process, and I now have about 13 kits and a PG RX-178 under my belt. Bandai will have my money once that RX-78-2 2.0 releases and I'm gonna put it right next to the old one to remind it of it's failure to stop me from burning more of my money on model kits.
@@Evangel-aclr My worst kit was the 1/60 Wing Gundam Zero. Mostly because of the battery pack. As in you need a parts separator to replace the battery. Hense why I never installed batteries in mine. The 3.0 is showing it’s age a little tbh. I think the Rx78 the origin is a much better MG kit in pretty much every way. Also I’d love to see you tackle the PG unleashed RX78
The MG origin really surprised me when I was building it. Not only does it come with more accessories and the option of two different variations, but the even went out of their way to design it with different spots for the stickers so you didn't have to sacrifice the clear surface. An excellent kit all around.
It was a great kit but it also didnt age well on my shelf which is why im beginning to take more time building and reinforcing joints. This thing now is a nightmare to move
I dunno if anyone has mentioned it, and I (sort of don't but hey) hate to be "that guy", but the RX-78-3 was the test for the magnetic coating for the Unit 2. There were seven Gundams produced for Operation V, which also produced the Guncannon and the Guntank. When Side 7 was attacked by Char, Unit 1 was very badly damaged and Unit 3 was slightly damaged, so the White Base took 3 as spare parts for Unit 2. Unit 3 (and consequently RX-78-3) is a completely separate unit from Unit 2, and data from it was used to create the RX-78NT-1, or the Gundam Alex. Units 4 and 5 were put on the Thoroughbred (and you can read about them in "Space, to the End of a Flash" or play them in Encounters in Space). Unit 6 was referred to as the Mudrock, and you can face it in the game Zeonic Front. Unit 7 was featured in Battlefield Record 0081. These units are also notable for omitting the Core Fighter system. Edit: Almost forgot, this kit is basically just the RG upscaled, which worked a LOT better at that scale, and is a lot more forgivable when you consider it was literally the first RG.

this was one of my first master grades back in the day and im glad we got this slice of insanity of a review to highlight it, keep doing what you doing job.
I am so happy I finally got around to watching this review and song. Great work! I really love how you have continued to tell your own story through your work and build this deeper picture that comes along with everything. I am in the process of starting up my own channel revolving around Star Wars and figure culture within that specifically. Your editing, music choice and work has really inspired me to take a jump into trying my hand in the downward spiral of RUclips but I am glad you are here too.
What an incredibly fun review to watch. The song really was a banger with lots of enjoyable references. Also super awesome to hear you checking out witch from mercury. Hope you have a very Merry Christmas jobby. Thank you for another year of fantastic reviews.
Loved this kit, loved its aesthetics, but mine ended up being very wobbly. Everything Jobby said about the kit is true, I ended up using the Core Block, too, and put the Core Fighter in storage. Love the vids Jobby, and Happy Holidays to everyone that reads this comment
Actually bought a black and green version of this kit at Diver City in Japan (the mall where the 1 to 1 RX 78-2 gundam use to be. It was replaced by a 1 to 1 statue of Gundam Unicorn which is even more impressive seeing it in-person). I was even listening to “Review More Gundam” while I was there!
Due to its complicated design, it makes a building experience a little bit difficult. The polycaps are the bane of the model kits, hence the looseness of the parts stability. Fortunately the majority of modern Master Grades out there are polycapless, thus more stability for those kits. Otherwise, it's been a while to see these gunpla review in your channel. Kudos to you, Jobby!
Tbh Yeah, this kit drove me a bit insane. I still haven't finished it. Although I'm picking back up on model building with some Amaim kits. Real weird case where more detail doesn't always equate to more fun build.
A nice kit! Even though the ver. 2.0 is my personal favorite because I love how more sturdy it is compared to the 3.0 despite being older released in 2008. I do heavily suggest you take a fourth chance on Gundam and take a gander at that kit! But if you don’t want to, that’s ok. Happy Holidays!
After getting introduced to model kits by you back when you started to get burnt out building them, I can understand the burnout now and you have just sparked my interest again.
Don’t worry Jobby. As a Man who assembled Tamiya 1:700 Scale Yamato Class, I do understand the “fun” part and Tamiya you cant just fit the parts you have to glue it.
My approach to gunpla is a relatively chill one. I like the end product. It's a nice thing to put maybe an hour or two into every week or so and then shove back in the box until I feel like doing it again. I achieve a sort of zen. I don't have to think much, as opposed to when I am doing something like drawing or painting. I take my time panel lining, and that's all I do besides maybe putting a golden gundum marker on the yellow pieces and some dry brushing straight on the plastic. I don't really care if I make mistakes. It took me 6 months to build the MG Barbatos. I feel it's best when you see it as something you do for leisure as opposed to a project you need to complete. I quite enjoy lego sets for much the same reason.
You can use the Gundam Marker EX (Gold) to paint smaller surfaces gold instead of having to fully paint them. That's what I've done now for surfaces I want to paint gold or silver.
Honestly as much as we joke about the review more Gundam, it is very nice to see it come back. Just nice to see a Gundam on the Jobby Set after so long (not including those third party Samurai ones). I dunno what it is, just the vall backs to old times, seeing people reminisce about how they discovered this channel through Gundam, and stayed for thr Jobby, or just seeing how nice the MG 3.0 looks on Camera. It just a really nice way to cap off the year of stellar Jobby Reviews as well as just a nice gathering of Joblins celebrsting the time here. As cheesy as it sounds does just give you that wholesome feeling of old friends gathering roundnthe fireplace. And what a fireplace it is cause that Songnat the end was (And I don't mean this as an exaggeration at all) absolutely FIRE. Like seriously did not expect it to go that HARD. All the Gundam reference lines, b a r s, War in the Pocket, Red Comet, and Principality caught me off guard with how kuch they slapped
to be fair: the 2.0 was much better. idk why bandai was smoking crack thinking the needed to remaster an already perfect kit. It ended up with a worse version of it's predecessor. Take that as you will Jobby; simpler build, more solid and more fun without loosing the scale or complexity. No need for paint (though... admiditly... I do like to add the decals...) The only advice I would give is a simple matte coat to protect the metal decals from chipping and peeling.
Sadly there isn't an option for gold, but if you don't want to paint or use silver stickers, there is a better option. There is a type of paint pen called Molotow Liquid Chrome, that is an alcohol based silver paint, and it dries mirrored chromed.
The nostalgia is real, I remember getting into gunpla years ago cus of jobby but over the years work and uni etc I lost interest. recently I saw an rx78 3.0 on sale and could not resist, then I found this video. Thanks for making me feel like a kid again good sir.
this was a good review, but then that diss track came on and it became a GREAT review! You gotta love when Jobby shows off some of his musical talent. I love me some Gunpla too but you do you.
Oh ya, a kit I built in 2014. I remember it being a lil more annoying a build so I agree with you there it wasn't a good time. At the same time I was building him I also built a MG Jesta and that kit was fantastic. I'd go more into detail on that but seeing as you don't want to do more gunpla building.... but also make a song about gundams I get mixed feelings here. Like hey cool you reviewed a model kit its been a while. But you also just kept brining up painting bits which no shit, thats how its been for a few decades now in any gunpla kit. Painting kits has consumed so much of my time I now just have bus tubs of kits waiting to be worked on because of a depression I've gone through of not being satisfied with any kit I build anymore. But like, I can just, not paint them ya know. Or spray a quick varnish on it and call it a day.
As someone who got into Gundam on a whim based on the engineering, but eventually because they were just fun to pose, I can’t agree more. Nothing more frustrating than “just spent a literal hour bending down and picking up tiny parts so the neck will move 2 more degrees” of some RGs and MGs has made me want to stick to HG.
I recently built the ver 3.0 in the all blue Gundam Base colors. It stays together really well honestly. I don’t know if I just got lucky or if that’s somehow a better kit, but I really enjoyed it.
The arms were not a ton of fun to build, mostly because I was never sure if I was lining parts up correctly, but other than that, the build was fun and the finished kit was solid, even without paint.
Dude if youre not gonna paint, panel line, or decal up a gundam kit, you know what? That's FINE. The beauty of gunpla is you can put as much or as little effort in as possible. Just snap it together, or panel line it, or paint it, or rebuild it into something completely different. Its up to you 👍

Being anime accurate is better without all the color/part separation. Don't like all the decals anyway
@@rovvy221 well, "anime accurate" = being very simple like a kids toy with no markings at all.
When the world needed this review the most, it appeared. And it's size has "doubled" since we last saw it.
YES. More Jobby lore is always great.
You should do the Full Mechanics Gundam Aerial, from Witch from Mercury
0:34 not anymore, in another sense.
After getting introduced to model kits by you back when you started to get burnt out building them, I can understand the burnout now and you have just sparked my interest again.
0:14 Disney trying to ruin another classic film with live action elements.
If jobby is gonna do more gundam I'd like to see him do a limitation test on the Gundam ZZ ver KA
If Jobby does review more model kits in the future, I’d love to see 3rd Party kits like Judge and Kotobukiya
I'd love to see him review Figure-Rise Standard kits specifically the Digimon ones
I have related to few content creators like Jobby in the tension between work and painting your unassembled robot toys.
That diss track is straight 90's style rap fire! The neon colors are bleeding through so hard now.
You can use the Gundam Marker EX (Gold) to paint smaller surfaces gold instead of having to fully paint them. That's what I've done now for surfaces I want to paint gold or silver.
Disstrack at the end is good and actually enjoyable great job jobby
Eyyy I’m right now building the MGEX strike freedom and it is a great kit! Having beautiful looks and amazing articulation it is a true Gundam
If you want a good kit for your channel then I recommend the windblade model kit
That bennie fine jump scare got me ngl
this was my first master grade kit, my second was the first MG unicorn, it's a miracle I stuck with the hobby
Modern Gunpla have improved so much.
to be fair: the 2.0 was much better. idk why bandai was smoking crack thinking the needed to remaster an already perfect kit.
I've watched this over 3 or 4 different times now because it's the sole reason I finally bought the HG 1/100 Unicorn. 100% worth it too
The Zaku in the background with the one pose brought some nostalgia back
2:33 i was actually there, they replaced it with the "unicorn" gundam.
It also has good food there
Built my 3rd MG kit a few days ago, it was a Dom and I love the hands on these kits. Not to mention how sturdy they feel. I love master grade kits
Sadly there isn't an option for gold, but if you don't want to paint or use silver stickers, there is a better option.
There is a type of paint pen called Molotow Liquid Chrome, that is an alcohol based silver paint, and it dries mirrored chromed.
It's has been 5 years since u did a gunpla review and it was worth long wait
I honestly love how this is just a blown-up version of the Real Grade kit with some improvements.
finally a gundam review moreeeee we need more (if u want easier mg kits, just get older ones like made in 2010(example:wing mg gundam)
You know it's a Merry Christmas when Jobby releases both a review and a diss track at the same time🤣
Oh ya, a kit I built in 2014.
Man what a Christmas gift I even left my model kit cave for this.
The arms were not a ton of fun to build, mostly because I was never sure if I was lining parts up correctly, but other than that, the build was fun and the finished kit was solid, even without paint.
i knew it, last review on that couch was this kit. i even said "IS THAT A GUNDAM???? IN THE BACK??????".
"The Gundam grundle"
alternatively, the Grundam
Jobbys my favorite juggalo rapper
Whoo! New music. What a wonderful Christmas Gift.
I hope we get more next year.
Maybe in another 6 years you can review the Perfect Grade Unleashed RX78 🎅
I'm glad I'm not the only straight builder when it comes to model kits.
i like the rotating scope spotlight thingy
Dude if youre not gonna paint, panel line, or decal up a gundam kit, you know what? That's FINE. The beauty of gunpla is you can put as much or as little effort in as possible. Just snap it together, or panel line it, or paint it, or rebuild it into something completely different. Its up to you 👍
Okay but fr the effort into these songs is tangible and well done.
Jobby returning to Gundam because of Witch From Mercury and Secelia sitting on the couch. I see that he too is a man of culture.
I’m not big on repaints but that zaku 2 looks pretty dang good my friend
Having just finished it, I can recommend the Gundam Mk.II V. 2.0. Fun as hell to build, solid, and looks amazing right out of the box.
That girl design is nice respectfully👀 and the Rap is a bop also dropping his pants at the end was wild
