So, if a big player with deep pockets comes into the picture, the scene will change quite quickly. Think about it. A customer wants to order from a certain restaurant. He/she has the option of ordering from platform x or platform y. Creating accounts and ordering on either platforms is easy. Service is more or less the same. Price is cheaper on platform y. Product is the same. There is no personal connect, as these are just online platforms. Delivery boys are also different each time you order, so there is no connect there as well. Why would the customer be loyal to platform x, even if it is more expensive than y? The customer is loyal only to the product. I am a regular zomato and swiggy customer. I always compare prices and order wherever I get a better offer.
