Val Kilmer is such an underrated Batman. He has the look of Bruce and Batman, the Conroy-like Batman voice, the duality between Bruce and Bats, and the phycological aspect to Bruce Wayne. He also had great detective skills and martial arts skills
He acts dumb in all his movies.
@Mr. Musashito Keaton is the worst looking Batman and perhaps the weakest one in my opinion. But the suit from Batman returns was epic just not on him.

I agree with you. In fact, I do believe Val Kilmer is the best Batman.
Val Kilmer was a great Batman, a variety of martial arts, some detective work and the voice changing. Hell, he wasn't even afraid to kick ass as Bruce Wayne, if people were in danger, he'd try to save them nonetheless. Script was a little wonky and how the movie looked with all those neon lights and bright colors, he was pretty damn good. But I dare to say that they nailed both of his personas.

My Dad took me to see this movie in theaters when I was 6 years old back in the Hollidays in 1995 Val Kilmer was a great Batman me and my dad we both enjoyed that movie so much I had the toys and video game and movie on vhs 📼 back then

I like his portrayal of Batman n Bruce Wayne. It was a cool movie. It had some dark moments too but may b because of the studios interference it was cut from the theatrical release.

Val Kilmer did an absolutely legendary job. My childhood favourite movie. I can’t wait for the new 1:6 scale Hot Toys figures coming out. I was front row when U2 suprised the audience with “Hold me, thrill, me, kiss me, kill me. I will never forget that such a perfect moment.
After the dark dreary tim.burton movies, this one was refreshing and fun, one of my favorite films of the 90s.
Val played the socialite and kicked ass as wayne in the circus scene.

Schumachers first cut was in line with the darker burton films with more psychosis and character development.... no drive through.
Wb had other plans...and re-edited it to sell happy meals and more toys for family friendly.

Agreed. People didn’t need the campiness of the Adam West series. People liked the dark, gritty tone of the Tim Burton era. And yes, the Bat nipples were 100% unnecessary haha. I also didn’t like direction of this Batmobile. It’s so flashy and goes against Batman’s utilitarian ethos.

I always though Val Kilmer was a great Batman and Bruce Wayne. To be honest I thoroughly enjoy Batman Forever to this day. It has a strong focus on the psychological aspects of Bruce/Batman, retains some of the moodier, darker elements from the Burton movies, is fun without being as over the top as 'Batman & Robin', and has a great soundtrack.
So funky...and refreshing. I like the overall look of the set as well!

Read stories that Kilmer was difficult to work with on set, butted heads with Schumacher, but in his post-production interviews he seems so chill

Val Kilmer did a decent job as Batman. While he's not as good as Michael Keaton or as bad as George Clooney, he did a good job none the less. I honestly prefer his Batman voice over Christian Bale's Batman voice anytime.

Val Kilmer was a good Bruce Wayne and a good Batman, but this movie was terrible and campy. Joel Schumacher single handedly ruined Batman
It was WB who ruined the franchise. Schumacher actually directed a much darker film then WB interjected and changed that. There are alternate openings, endings and scenes that remain unseen to the public as well as the few that made it to the 2005 release and they very much suggest a much darker film.
It was originally written around the deleted scene of Bruce and the giant bat untill WB butted in and ruined the movie.
With that said I love the theatrical version of the film. It's far better and darker then B&R.

Everything in this movie was beautiful. The suits, the villains, the sets, the vehicles and the direction. It just sucks that they had to downgrade it in Batman and robin. Meaning the suits were a lot lamer in Batman and robin. They should’ve at least let Chris O’Donnel keep his suit from this movie. Of course since George Clooney is the new Batman him getting a new suit made sense. But they should’ve kept it black.
Growing up I liked Batman forever more than batman and Robin, but the b&r toys were cooler.
Kilmer doesn't look like Batman or Bruce Wayne, He has the voice but Keaton takes it for sure, Clooney looks like Bruce Wayne just not Bats.

You should buy the dvd, it's probably really inexpensive and it has all of that stuff in it. Same goes for Batman & Robin.
Out of all Batmen actors Val was my second favorite and still is. Michael Keaton is obviously number one and then Ben Affleck as 3rd although I wish he did another movie. 4th would be Adam West. Kevin Conroy would be neck and neck with Keaton.
Lastly Christian Bale, and the reason I put him last was because he was the best Bruce Wayne... Not Batman, I hated everything about his batman especially his suit in the second and third movie..

Val is the best Batman to me he did both Bruce Wayne & Batman very well. His voice was the best for Batman. The other actors played either Bruce or Batman not very likeable. No one did a good job with both personas like Val. Also he was the prettiest Batman.

Val looks better in the suit than all the other actors, but it doesn't mean he was great in the role.
Keaton's psychotic eyeline in the suit has never really been matched.
The Returns suit had a fantastic cowl that was moulded to mimic Keaton's eyebrows. In certain scenes in that film, he has a deranged and/or demonic look that fits perfectly with that interpretation of the character.
Clearly that's not what WB and Schumacher wanted from Batman Forever, which was made as an apology (mainly to commercial partners and parents) for the Expressionistic excess of Returns.
Val was a good Batman, but Joel was just a horrible director.

It was a reinvention. Val Kilmer did a better job as Joel Schumacher's brighter Batman than Michael Keaton would have. Michael Keaton did a better job as Tim Burton's darker Batman than Val Kilmer would have. It's like the difference of Bonds. Roger Moore explained, "I think the difference between us is that Sean [Connery's James Bond] is a killer and I'm a lover."

Kilmer was good, but his Batman wasn’t crazy enough, he looked pretty normal.
The movie in general was too loud, flashy and comical. That’s why Batman Forever and Batman and Robin are my least favorite Batman movies.
