This is why I like you and Alex (NN). Neither of you guys are trying to convince people to start a business or invest in Pokémon in Alex's case. You guys make videos for the people who are already convinced and you both give a lot of great advice for free. Much appreciated.
My 4yr old son just got into pokemon and brought me back into the hobby, very good information. Hoping to start a ch. With him thanks for the inspiration!
Bigger brain here , don’t buy 💩 sets that no one wants because those are the ones that don’t do 💩 in 5-10 years compared to better options sets ….. 🤷♂️ just my opinion 😅
Nearly 8 figures damn good work brian, you are the man been putting in work to slowly build my business up as i can all thanks to your inspiring messages ❤
Thanks for all your advice! I started my pokemon business 2 months ago and am up to $45,000 in sales! Really enjoy your content and appreciate your advice. Keep pushing content. You’re killing it 🔥
I freaking love your videos bro !! And I’ve been taking action for sure got my website built and pumping out content mainly on TikTok hoping to bring them over to RUclips for longer format videos. Got my eBay store linked to my TikTok shop and just trying to pump out value based content before I go for the ask .. thanks for always being honest Brian
Sometimes when you show someone the possibilities they interpret that as promising said possibilities. Watching and doing are not the same. I think that's a tough pill for a lot of adults to swallow. Great vid!
I'm still learning and a bit awkward on camera, but I am invested in this journey. My old ass is at least gonna keep at it! thanks for keeping us straight, Brian!
Great video! Thank for keeping it genuine and real. Always find your videos informative and encouraging as I’m trying to get started on both RUclips and in Pokémon. Scary and uncomfortable to get started but I feel like you’re not growing or learning if you don’t feel that way. At least that’s what I tell myself😖
A good trick to help your “presenting skills” that we use with the team members in the mgmt track, is give them 10 random presentations and have them present them on video. When you can present a random presentation you’ve never seen, you’re ready.
Brian, I don't like the credibility check t-shirt.. I LOVE IT! I honestly love how you take time to make content like this. We're in the niche that you're making this for -- we signed with a distributor a couple months ago and we're looking at exactly what you're saying (buying stuff no one wants). Even though we just started a little over 2 months ago, we've had people reaching out asking if they can take our extra product off our hands to help us out. LOL. I'm super glad we found you because we took your advice and started with Japanese product only, and that's what actually help lead us make the case to sign with our English distributor. We appreciate you so much!!
I needed this. Thank you. I didnt like being called old, we're like the same age, but still I needed this. You're the reason I've decided to start down this path but have been to afraid to invest in myself and take the leap. Convincing myself that I am learning instead of actually doing. Not anymore.
Thanks for the info as always man, people tend to misunderstand the message behind your videos bur its how it is unfortunately. Amazing content and great value
Just got done watching one of your older videos, and you talked about buying stuff from Alibaba/Aliexpress and selling it at pop up shops. Do you happen to know if it’s legal to sell those same items online? Great advice about not just watching the content but actually following through.
I really like your stream today. I'm going to start filming myself to get used to it. And let my friends and family let me know how I'm doing .Thank You.
Just finished watching older videos where you mentioned x-raying packs. Got me thinking. Manufacturers should use the code card in each pack. Impregnate the card stock with x-ray absorptive material (e.g., filaments, particles, flecks) in a random pattern in a layer of the card stock. This can obscure/hide the 'x-ray signature' of cards in a sealed pack while also varying the pack weight to combat pack weighing. Simple solution, code cards are printed separately on different stock already and added to the pack just before sealing. Just say'n. Really like your channel and have learned a lot.
Hi Brian, love the channel. Do you advertise on RUclips, TikTok, Google? If so is it just advertising the channel or your actual business. I am getting out of brick and mortar and going a total different route. I am going to try vending. I will have an online store (probably through wix at your suggestion over shopify) but I don't have a ton of camer charisma nor do I want to do videos everyday I want to get others involved in venturing into vending with me. Any suggestions?
Recently started my own Pokemon business with access to 3 distributors, one of the main ones for Pokemon in the UK as well as a couple from Japan, so far it has been going above my expectations. Really appreciate all of the knowledge you share, it has been the most fun… and stress 😅 I’ve had in years but just overall, something I look forward to wake up to and watch progress week by week.
Thanks for all the content! Any recommendations on which online store provider to use? I ran an online business back in the day and used Shopify and had good success with them but was curious if there was a different one you'd recommend more? Thanks!
Lol mad respect for the shout out for Opossum Bud 🐙🍻 - love the brass tax man. Hey if you ever endup with a variety bundle for the peeps on Drip for sell lmk, would be neat concept🤘😎❤️🔥
Hey Brian, good work on these, love the all over the place and just talking. I don't' like scripted videos as much so this great! I just got started designing a site, found someone to get some JP boxes in, and did a trial order last night. Appreciate all the insight, keep up the good work!
Just out of curiosity what is your plan with all the stuff you said you cant move? It seems like a lot of people just starting out with a distribution will get those things.Ive heard braking even is a fairly decent outcome. Obviously the plan is to take it and build allocation but whats the best way to offload low demand product? breaks? singles on tcg? tcg direct bulk? sell at wholesale?
Thanks for this one, man. This is how I've been shopping. I'm starting slow with Japanese focus and trying to build up English inventory. I will take anything, just about, as long as I can get it at a deal. I'd love some of those obsidian flames etb's. haha. I haven't reached out for distro yet because I just don't have the email list or cash flow yet. I'm trying to buddy up with my LGS by doing exactly what you said. Getting what they are having a rough time moving. Hoping I can do that and throw in a little on his distro orders to get whatever tf I can. I really respect you and appreciate you for this stuff, bro. I couldn't be here without your playlist.
The your mom watching Fox was funny. You make many good points. In a business such as a store you will most likely always have to get things not many do like to buy. Big retails don't need to worry about it as much as smaller stores. Theme boxes, trick and flop bags are just some of the products that makes sense to buy in order to build that trust with a distributor. Specially in the trading card world. That just sits in their inventory for who knows how long and they can't get rid of it. It smaller stores buy some of that it looks good for both and even more fore the smaller store to be able to get bigger and better products. Not a hit you have to take. I feel and if I'm wrong let me know. Those products that sit there anyone can get for lower then the MSRP. Even much lower. If it were me I would get those products and donate them. Use it as a taxes right off for the store or business. Maybe I don't know the true meaning of a write off. Seems that would be a good way to go to get most of not 95% of the unnecessary bulk products that take more space. I'm sure some with think what your saying when you mention about your store makes this much figures your doing it to brag when your doing it to show its possible. In another video you broke it down that just because you make that much doesn't mean all is profit. Definitely thought about doing videos in this time of manner. However, not well experienced. Just would wing it to what I feel and think. Maybe even the forbidden words like I tell OP. "Make Sense.". Seems that along with opinions are far fetched and looked as being bad. Sorry for the long rant. Thank you for your opinion.
Only problem with us education watching non stop viewers is that most of us haven't gotten out of that financial debt situation to get started yet, like myself, but once ive gotten out and got my stuff ready ill be uploading random vids. Probably livestream with opening cards and playing video games in between the stream then as i get more sales, if i can get an audience, then transition to more selling and opening hopefully. But until i can get that stuff started, im gonna be here watching still!
November 8 I get served a Deep Pocket Monster video, november 14 I fell deep into the pokemon youtube rabbit hole, november 29 I buy my first stuff on Black Friday, 2 weeks later I've got my first video uploaded, practicing on Shrouded Fable on all sets. The advice of going to card stores and asking to buy Pokemon merchandise that isn't moving will not happen. You might get lucky, but good luck getting them to sell you bulk. Maybe online sellers are different. Buy what you can when you can, sell it, build some income, and make relationships.

Free market allows people to build businesses that help employ others and help others build wealth. The system in itself isnt bad. Honestly I would lay blame on the Pokemon company. The Pokemon company holds a monopoly on sealed pokemon product. They know very well that the demand for Pokemon is crazy right now. They could print to current demand instead of the last 2 quarters, but the heightened demand actually helps them in the long run. It fuels the investing, collecting aspect of the hobby. Its not the system, but those who have power to exploit the system.

Dude is full of shit tbh. There's always ways to make money in any business. Every business is tough and has challenges. The best figure ways to solve problems and innovate. Networking is the key to start off in Pokemon. Finding "distributors" doesn't mean actually getting english distributors and trying to buy the best product.
