Just keep in mind, though, that not everyone with an eating disorder will act like this (nervous, hesitant) around food. There are some meals where I'm like this but others that I inhale lots of food without thinking, without acting like anything's wrong at all. Just because someone doesn't eat tiny portions or only veggies doesn't mean they aren't sick. I'll eat a burger in front of someone then self-loathe, self-harm and restrict the rest of the week. I only say this because we should actively challenge the stereotypes about eating disorders, as a lot of people think that if you aren't a size zero, existing off of a cup of coffee and an apple a day, you don't have a problem. Eating disorders come in many shapes and sizes and everyone exhibits different behaviors.
As Thanksgiving nears, I wish everyone and anyone struggling with an eating disorder a good holiday. May you find some peace

Okay, I understand that anorexia nerviosa is a huge, unhealthy and difficult disorder to overcome, but can we also start speaking more about binge eating which is just as dangerous and has just as long lasting effects as anorexia. There's not only one type of eating disorder and we need to bring attention to all of them. Even, EDNOS (eating disorders not otherwise specified). I know that there are many people suffering with anorexia, but there are just as many people suffering from other disorders❤

This is more bulimia than anorexia since she isn’t underweight (don’t quote me). Also people with binge eating disorder have very similar thoughts to those with anorexia or bulimia. I hate that people think of it more as mindless eating when it really isn’t all that mindless. I have a friend with it and she can count calories just as an anorexic could she just loses control sometimes she knows exactly what she’s eating how many calories it has she just can’t restrict.

Dank Me me To all of you dealing with eating disorders, hear my message, and please don't take offense, that's just how i see it.
Hey guys, what's so attractive about being skinny to you?i mean, it looks miserable, if you're problem is phobia of fat, then there is a solution, just workout, and eat bigger meals, you'll end up skinnier, because you'll loose fat and build muscle instead, and no, you won't look musculare, this would happen only if you want to bulk up, and go on a calorie surplus and start to lift heavy, also, you'll be strong, physically and mentally, and you'll be able to live a good life, plus having some curves is a very attractive aspect of females, did you know that studies have shown that bigger booty means good health, and do you happen to know that being obese takes away 10 years of your life while being skinny takes away ABOUT 25 years! That's fucking scary and insane.
Food is delicious, just enjoy it, i'm actually in the opposite situation because i wanna have booty gains, so i have to eat goood. I noticed that it really have to do with your environnement, where i live being thick and being skinny are both really appreciated, but also, before making my decision, i really considered my health first, gaining booty muscles will actually improve my strenght and health, so why not? I chose it rather than being skinny because i don't want my choice to have a bad impact on my health and life quality.
Plus it's attractive! Healthy is attractive! Inhealthy is miserable!

More like: *fasts for the few days before and up til dinner* ok ok I can eat this because i can purge it easily, and since my stomach takes literally at least an hour until it actually starts digesting things I can sit at the table and talk after eating it so I look normal before I go purge it. Oh and I can eat that soup because it will help the other stuff come up even easier. Good, good. Ok! Let's do this. *chews everything to a pulp, and 30 minutes later empties my stomach, when everyone's gone, quietly do squats and cardio in my room.* OSFED is fun people, you get a little bit of everything :|

"No one chooses to have one" Aren't you the same person that be picking on the 600 pound people and be like, "They cause that themselves?" Well people who starve cause that themselves, if they don't have no food in their house I can understand but living in a house full of food, yes it's their fault. "Straight up judging" LOL talk about being delusional.

I'm exaxtly the same as you... Im so worried about my weight i just count calories and as unhealthy as it is for my weight, i always have less than 800 calories and its just the maximum i have per day. I used to eat and then throw up what i eat but i started counting calories instead and its as hard as throwing up, but its almost the same to me but it wont destroy my teeth... My mother is just extremely worried about me but i can't do anything, im just clearly chubbier than normal and i just want to look thin, i keep on seeing people eating pizzas, pastas, chesse every single day and they're just so thin when i just don't have the luck to have such a metabolism... Everyday is a struggle, i keep on thinking, "if i eat that, ill have to not eat anything else throughout the day and do abs", every meal isnt even a guilty pleasure because its just not a pleasure anymore... Food is starting to just look disgusting to me... I really hope this will get better for the both of us, good luck.

Me with anorexia nervosa it IS a challenge to go through, every bite of something I consider “unhealthy” is absolute pain... I am not fully recovered but yet I’m getting help. And this thanksgiving it was a challenge to try and eat. it sounds stupid, but with eating disorders it’s like u never look at food the same way u used to... I have been avoiding chips, cookies, ice cream, high carb and calorie foods for almost a YEAR and of course , whenever I ate I had to do cardio to burn off all the calories I just consumed... My side affects currently has been the following:
    -Irregular heartbeat
-Loss of muscle and bone mass
    -fuzzy thinking, hallucinations
    -Low blood sugar
-Blood circulation problems, resulting in cold hands and feet
    -Excess face and body hair
PLEASE. Don’t be like me. I was stupid to start my obsession with dieting, but if you’re overweight you should diet the right way. In my case, I was never overweight, I was average and began losing weight because I thought I looked fat.

My friend has an eating disorder, she is 5 foot 8, and she weighs about 95 pounds. I am so worried about her. We have always been friends... at lunch in elementary school we would see how much food we could stuff into our mouths. Now she looks at me in disgust. She also gets mad alot. I feel bad she gets bullied. She is depressed, she asked why she was alive.. Idk I just wish that she could get better. It's so hard though, and I know that, this doesn't just happen overnight. This video makes me sad, nibidy should have to go through this...

I am currently recovering from my anorexia. I’ve been eating more but thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years puts me on edge. I want to recover and I want to enjoy food again like I used to. I will make a commitment to make sure I eat my meals everyday because without food I get tired and won’t be able to focus throughout the day. I can do this, I am not alone. This is my goal for 2019, the new year.

After a year of recovery, I just recently realized a lie I have been telling myself which is that people are judging/looking at what I eat. I find it hard to say no to people offering me food, especially home cooked dishes because I feel like it’s rude and hurts people when I say no. I have to remind myself that people don’t actually care if you eat or don’t eat a certain dish. They have so many things in their lives to worry about to care about you saying no to a dish. I have to remember that me saying no to what I don’t want and protect my mental health does not hurt people and our relationships. Other things matter in a relationship, saying no to a dish does not.

I'm just going to go ahead and say this:
You only have this life once.
You only have this body once.
Please, don't judge yourself for eating, even if it's "bad" foods- cupcakes are okay once in a while, and so are fattier foods. It's important to nourish your body.
Also, if you want to know about how you can nourish your body (and mind, tbh) without feeling guilty, go watch:
    Linda Sun
    Natacha Océane
I hope it gets better for y'all, and I hope that you can find your own comfy, happy place.
    Love❤,
    Rowena

This is why it's very rare I enjoy eating. I want to eat it slowly and enjoy it but I want to eat it quickly so I'm not hungry anymore and I can get it over with and go a long stretch of time not eating sooner. I just sit and think "I shouldn't be eating this" and then I've finished it before managing to just chill and enjoy it.

I just put as much food as possible and eat only a little bit of it- people get kinda mad but least looks like I ate a lot. Once put a whole chicken thigh it was absolutely hUGE, and I barely had a nibble of it ^^; But nobody questioned if I ate much and just laughed saying you full yet? Not the best but fake it till I make it I suppose.
Edit: I hate when someone assume "skinny" or "curvy" is healthy *though I don't feel to be either*, telling me I shouldn't go to the gym exercise etc, meanwhile I'm pretty weak and wanna get muscle as well as strong stamina. ://
