- March 18, 2022 - First event of the season ended in a low note due to swap problems. Aluminum shavings and oil coming from where the transmission and engine mate.
Pitted early as the car did not feel or sounded right. Shifting got hard on high RPM and engine was making a loud whistling noise. Engine OIL temperature is not reading correct.
Even with all the problems, weekend was good. Hung out with old friends and I'm exited about the engines potential in this chassis.

what kind of exhaust! sounds sooooo goooood! Mind doing some revs outside of the car and drive bye or track footage from side lines?

Hey, exhaust is an Ultimate Racing single 3 in pipe, 7 in muffler with 4 in single wall muffler tip, with no resonator. Unfortunately, the new motor is still out, but as soon as it is running again, I'll take some sound clips.

That thing screams nice
cold tire slide on first lap had me puckering, as did that blue mustang closing on your bumper. seem to be pretty close pace with spec E46s.
Besides the cold tires, running old ass RC'1s didn't help. Wanted to run a less grippy tire to test how the car handle now with less weight on the nose.
@@GRPE696 right on. I enjoyed autocross on my all seasons. Really easy to feel the car's balance.

I liked how you warmed up the tires around 1:00. What transmission are you using?

Its the OEM BRZ transmission with a custom fluid cooler.

Did you use the k power kit's adapter plate for the swap? Was that the reason for the tranny failure?
In this case, it was their pressure plate that came apart and cause the problems.

How does the k24 brz feel balance and driving wise compared to when it was a boxer brz?
Front end is lighter. Turn in and corrections are much quicker.
@@GRPE696 appreciate the input. I think this would be perfect street car set up to build to 250whp all motor for me if I am ever able to get into the platform then. Love the look of these cars, just not so much this particular boxer engine 🥲
how much power were you pushing with this setup?
On a Dyno Dynamics, it made 263 whp.
@@GRPE696 Thats killer, just with some cams and head work? Also I think I may have ordered a front pipe for now reason, I know the K power industries header. That just bolts up to any 3in " Cat " back system correct or do you still use a front pipe to connect to the mid pipe cat back? I think im confusing myself on lengths being the header sits further back than the stock set up.
@@mFiUnCdKED7 Cams, pistons and e85. Port and polished head will be next.
@@mFiUnCdKED7 The Kpower header bolts to the kpower mid-pipe/downpipe and that connects to a BRZ/FRS 3in exhaust. Make sure to get an exhaust that has a flex pipe or plan on installing one or you will be cracking the header and the mid pipe. The header is super thin and has questionable welding so it has been cracking in numerous cars including mine.
@@GRPE696 Thanks for answering I really appreciate the info, Yes I purchased a 5inch long flex pipe to be added to my 3inch exhaust right at the flange to bold up to the downpipe, I accidentally ordered a resonated " front pipe" as the gt86 exhaust parts would call it, thinking id need one along with my full 3inch exhaust lol but that is fine I will just return it
Have you pulled it apart yet? Flywheel bolts back out?
Yeah, already pulled apart and is not pretty. Flywheel bolts didn't back out. They were not the culprit.
