This reminds me of that one What If fight in DBZ BT3; in that game, you can play as Devilman, and the Devilmite Beam was able to do massive damage to any villain-character. In the What If battle, Devilman was able to One-shot any bad guy with that beam, including Frieza!
Isn’t there a mission where Devilman fights Mecha Frieza and King Cold?

It only didn’t work because it has to be someone with evil in their heart…and he tried it on Goku. It has always worked. He was just forgotten.

so, basically, both are different ways to test if you are pure of heart.
if you can endure the devilmite beam or ride the nimbus you can do the other too. if you fail at one, you fail at both.

I like the concept of this what if. I’ve always found the Devilmite Beam an underutilized technique that could be expanded more. I hope Spike The Devilman becomes a member of the Dragon Team.
Maybe the other will become a member of the devilmite team.

I liked the ideas of Spike and the other monsters helping the z-fighters
See, this is interesting in the sense that by the rules rattled off you can imagine ways in which this power may not work even with bad guys, but still have a variety of major arcs in "danger" of ending early at any given time. Very cool idea
Yeah, Akuman (Spike) and his special move would probably be nerfed in universe to be effective up to a certain amount of ki or magic power.
Like the way Vegeta was able to resist Babidi's mind control. There would probably be some character able to either just resist their own evil or defend against the attack.
Dr. Gero would probably be imune for becoming more of a robot than a cyborg. I can see Guldo being imune because he also has weird special skills that combine ki and magic.

Also when the effects of the DevilMite beam were shown on some guy he hit it erased most if not his entire body. Shouldn’t have the same thing happened to Nappa?
I hope this guy returns in Sparking Zero! His move’s gimmick in BT3 was really fun and it would be cool to see it in the new game.
Beerus is more a natural disaster than evil.
@@barryfraser831 He still likely has some evil in him. He has been shown not to be pure of heart like how despite his important role as the elected God of destruction for universe 7 he doesn’t take the role seriously and doesn’t do his job a lot of the time. And he along with the other gods of destruction are all mortals who were elected into their roles so it’s not like they can’t have some evil in them.
Roshi says the negative energy makes your heart explode, I think the originial Dragonball series just didn't want to show that too graphically.
I imagine that Beerus would actually be damaged by it, just not completely obliterated. He's more of a petty asshole than a genocidal maniac, despite his job.
I feel like his status as a god puts him technically above the concept of morality. He is more of a universal force.
The only issue I ever really had with Devilmite beam is; he would get speed blitzed.
Realistically he COULD solo plenty of people with it. What is stopping him is; could he land it?

Well, to be completely fair, it is pretty in-character for evil folks in Dragon Ball to just stand there and take a hit if they think their foe can't damage them
Unfortunately buu and maybe cell might be immune to the Devil Might beam because regeneration
@@leirbag1595 But that's a trick you can only do once, if a 2nd foe saw it work, they wouldn't be so willing to just tank the hit.

I see someone played the What If mission from Budokai Tenkaichi 3 for the PS2. You are not fooling me Masako... You did a nostalgia Trip. I can't say I disapprove though. That's one of my favorite missions.
If this what if contiuned spike would fr be the mvp of the z fighters one shotting basically everyone until Cell and Buu come around since their regeneration would just heal them

Now I can't help but think of another What If..
What if... Baba became a Z-Fighter.
Basically at one point she decides to help the group, and makes use of the Dragonballs to regain her youth and then trains her magic.
Possibly later allowing her to bring back MORE than just 1 person at a time during a time period.
During the Saiyan saga, she'd bring back some ally to help fight against the Saiyans for example.
The devilmite beam would literally accelerate so many arcs, so I can see why they relegated his appearances to what-if’s in games
Goku would be disappointed because then he doesn't get to fight strong people. I guess if they have an easy way out
Devilmite Beam would be too OP in Dragon Ball universe.

This was a good story. Reminded me of this what if level from BT3. It's interesting to see super hero devilman. Plus really love the background music. Gave a nice tension and uncomfortable sensation to what the characters are going through. Well considering this is the last of your April's pilots come voting I will probably vote for Toriyamas original concept for the android saga while I loved all these recent stories I it would be cool to see how that story developed regardless of it being fan made. Again you guys did a great job this April

On the topic of Baba's fighters I think a fun silly what if is "What if Krillin turned into a vampire after he got bit in his fight with fangs". Would be a minor change but Krillin gets bat shapeshifting and natural flight before the 22nd world tournament which is a big buff in that format. He would still probably lose to Goku but maybe he can escape Tambourine. He also gets some form of longevity as Fangs was a few hundred years old but I don't think that would be relevant.
Man, I don't know which one I want to be continued. This one or the og android saga.

I'm hoping this ties off nicely, I know it won't win but it's a cool scenario.
This was really creative and I wonder if you'll continue it.
My guess is that as long as the enemy is biological, evil and not being able to regenerate then it should work.
So it may not have worked on Piccolo Jr since he can regenerate, but otherwise up to the Namek saga it would have been busted. Then with the androids I guess it could have only worked against 20, 17 and 18 and in the Buu saga against everything but Buu and maybe Dabura.
For Super and GT the possibilities are even better. I wonder if Beerus would have been immune or not.
Whether be manga or western comics I always like what ifs that acknowledge the larger cast. Way too many threats could obviously be defeated but, are treated as nigh impossible

This is going to be a tough vote. I love the Cabba story, I want a Gero-centric What If again (especially after what we know now) and I'm curious to see where the Arale story goes, but Spike and the rest of Baba's fighters are a vested interest of mine.
I'm going to end up flipping a coin on this.

A fun story for sure I would have liked also King Champa to have joined the Z Fighters as he probably would have been a better choice than say Yajirobe.

There are a number of places that you could go with this. For example, Spike starts going mad with power and when he finds out that Super Saiyan would make Goku susceptible to his beam, he decides to become a villain
I suspect you might have it planned but I would love to see what would happen if King Piccolo survived and raised Piccolo Jr and continued to be a threat into Z.
So the Devilmite beam is the equivalant of GhostRider's Penance stare
