    I've watched this along with all your previous "3 cheapest chateux" series, and enjoyed them. So let me first thank-you for these entertaining videos. But honestly I can't fathom why anyone would buy a chateaux unless a) they hare generally prone to biting off more than they can chew, b) they are experienced craftsmen, builders or contractors whose vocation and joy is to repair structures their whole life, or c) retired person who is looking for something to fill his/her time, which again falls under category (a). it's like a real estate version of S & M. Anyway, I continue to enjoy watching these chateaux series because they are entertaining like a horror show in some ways, because it is nightmare for someone like me to own any of the chateaux you've shown. Just looking at the roofs, windows or radiators is enough to make me gasp. I hope you do a similar series on Manor homes, or some more practical but still special category of homes, as i think someone else commented on a previous video.

    Thanks Dan for this episode! Castles in this area are not more expensive comparing to the other regions, the quality of the selected castels you made in this area are much higher than the cheaper ones in the other regions/selections. What i noticed is the fact that some castles in the selection (No 1 and 3) are already left by there owners (no or less furniture, decoration left). What's your experience Dan as a real-estate broker in this case: more difficult to sell as a fully decorated item?

      Don't forget that this is a reflection of what is actually on the market at the moment. So if they are better, does that not indicate they are cheaper?
      As for the furnishings, it is always harder to sell an empty property, but by the same occassion, some chateaux are SOO overloaded with furniture that it is not good neither.

      Owners may have left, cause it was a constant nightmare to deal with leaks, doors and windows not working right, poor insulation and big energy bills, electrical problems, etc etc etc. At some point, every soldier realizes when there is no point continuing on with a project of that magnitude.

    The whole sentence is “Les goûts et les couleurs ne se discutent pas » meaning taste, and colours should not be argued about.

      Yes but 9/10 the French will just say « Les goûts et les couleurs » and shrug their shoulders.

    Those 3 Chateaus were in good condition the 2nd one roof looked old tho . But Loved the Gardens and where it was with a Pool and Tennis’s court . I love to buy a Chateau but NZ $ is not that good against the Euro but its a future thing i want to do even to just buy a Town house i guess . But love these Videos and i try and share them too . 😊🥰

    Why don't you put the link to these listing so we can look . I don't understand why you can't do that. What good is it if we are interested in one? How can we find these listings?

      You must understand that there isn't a common file system between agents in France , it is very much each for themselves. I see no point in me doing videos explaining things, so that someone else makes money out of it.

    These are empty dated homes, so the decor, color choices etc… are irrelevant.
