I had no idea she was his mother! What a delightful woman! She smiles with her eyes! I love how she is so down to earth.
What a wonderful point! Some people think vegetables come from the grocery store! They have no idea someone worked 24/7, no vacations etc to make sure vegetables are at the store. Thank you farmers and ranchers because if it were easy everyone would be doing it!
My Dad’s vegetable garden is one of my favorite things in the world. Considering how things are going, I told him we need to start more plots and possibly build a greenhouse and clean out our barn to stock up on gardening supplies. Raising chickens for eggs would be a great addition too. There’s a great contentment that comes with gardening and self sustaining.
Single moms like Maye, and my mom, are goddesses. Total respect and love!
As a researcher, I loved her honesty about how research can't get you to feed three kids. Research is one of the lowest paying jobs in higher education (unless you are developing drugs to make big pharma profit). This occurs even if you are a top notch researcher. Plus, the world is in dire need for more research but researchers are not valued and funding is meager. It's sad to see how many brilliant minds have to abandon research. On the other hand, professions that make companies profit are abundant and valued despite not necessarily contributing to solving world's inequality or societal issues. People say: just find a job that is on demand, if you are doing a job that is not paying you well it's your fault not the economy's. However, most jobs that are saving the world are not high paying and people do them out of vocation. Those are the true heros for me.
Much of her story is a lie.

Thank you beautiful Maye, I lost my confidence during the divorce and for a long time, now I’m just starting to get out of my shell.
Isolation (as much as possible) helped me after my divorce..I could hear God and what HE thought of me..God loves us and can speak clearest to you, when you are alone (my opinion).

@@angiesaga8276 Hi Angie I was married 16 years. After the first several months I got the feeling I should get out but I stayed. I went through great and bad and then the worst nightmare ever. Mental and psychological abuse. Nomínese es that pain or the scars. Don’t wait! Do your soul searching and do what is right for you!! YES, it is scary but after you conquer the loss of your relationship you will see that it is worth it. I am still alone and it is fine, I am content and no longer being talked down to or ignored. Let me know if you want to chat. Don’t let him get one over on you, there re so many resources to help you legally. 😘
Just goes to show us, hard work goes a long way. Having a good family structure is so important for children. As a single mom myself she is wonderful.
Not always. I was the best worker in every job I had but people took advantage of me, never paid me what I was worth etc.

yes I've known South Africans and although she has the accent I would definitely say she's not typical but she is not typical Canadian either nor is she typical American I think she's just herself 100% which is so rare of course and that's what makes her unique
I find there are quite a few afrikaans women who have similar mannerisms and personality's as Elon's mother. I am South African.

Thank you for the interview. I love her enthusiasm and joy for life. I also have gone through an abusive marriage. I never spoke about it for decades. I'm in my 75th year and no one believes my age, as I have the same philosophy of eat well and take care of yourself. I became a widow from a successful marriage just before 60 and am busy and successful with multiple businesses, nutrition, farming and real estate. My friends say write a book, but there are too many hurtful moments to relive. I love Maye's story.
