just followed this with the mylee starter kit i got for xmas and im in loveee! so much cheaper than going to the nail bar but looks just as good. my nails are damaged from acrylics and i think the gel will definitely help protect them as i grow out the damage. thank you soo much!
Someone recommended the Mylee kit to me a while ago but I, decided to be cheap and buy an unbranded version for about half the price from amazon. The cheap one was absolutely terrible so I immediately returned it and ordered to Mylee one! 😂 Can't wait for it to arrive, thanks for the tutorial!

Melia, thank you so much for this tutorial so well explained in detail. I am a good nail polish at home girl. I was always afraid of gel polish because of the UV lamp. But I finally decided to by a couple of gel nail polishes and also bought a terribly cheap UV/ LED lamp.😔 The first mani took place last night and it was a disaster. Some nails came out all creased (wrinkled), and others started to lift up from the nail’s borders. I went to bed a bit heart broken because these products are expensive and I hoped for a fine mani that lasts a bit longer than regular nail polish manis. Listening to you has been an eye opening experience because I made all the mistakes u are giving advise to avoid. I’ve gathered courage with your tutorial and am going out to get me a better UV / LED lamp to cure my nails after the fact and help my gel mani become better. I will let u know how it goes and hopefully it will be awesome. I love your tutorial!🥰 I will look for other videos I posted on regards to lamps that u have tried and recommend. Thanks Melia!😊🤗
I've just purchased the mylee gel nail starter kit ,I am very happy with it and your video is very informative thank you . I flooded the sides with top coat the first few times I used it and it peeled off lol
Eeeek! Yes that will happen - really do try to leave a gap as you practice because it can cause burns and contact allergies too so we want to avoid that 🤗

The first time I had my nails done I was 60, I'm still 60 and have made a few mistakes, so I took the initiative, and looked around on You Tube for some help, I've seen some of the rubbish, well I won't go there, anyway, I have seen your videos, and I think they are great, you go through the training step by step and its so easy to follow what you do, I only checked out 3 other videos before yours, I'm sure there are a lot of good ones, but your training is best for me.. Great video, I've just received my Mylee kit and looking forward to trying it out, I don't know if you realise but the removable plate has a protective film on which has to be removed before use, both sides are shiny, I noticed in this video you have kept it on.
I have decided to start my own little business and still new to all this...have used polygel before know it's different..now will practise gel polish and then will start doing clients

It’s all in your application and prep. Mine last up to 5 weeks 💕 if things are lifting it’s most likely your prep or application rather than the polish lovely xax

Hi! This was so helpful as I’m looking at buying the Mylee products. I have polymorphous (an allergy to UV) so was so happy when I found their LED lamp 😊 would you suggest buying their nail polishes or can you use others with the LED lamp?

Usually I go to a nail tech every month for calgel overlays which is thicker, but thanks to Miss Covid I’m not able to just now ☹️! As someone who barely has any cuticles, am I best to still try and push them down every time I re-do my nails? I was thinking of the cuticle remover also. 😊
I get up to 4 weeks out of mine but everyone is different and it depends on application. Just need to make sure you're not painting over cuticles lovely so push them back if needed xax

Hi love, did you mean you bought the mylee builder gel to use with shellac polish? Or are you using Mylee gel polish? Because shellac is slightly different to gel polish and it's always wise to stay with the same brand instead of mixing products x

Prepping the nail properly is key for a long lasting manicure but just be careful not to scratch or damage the natural nail - light touch. And no, when applied and removed properly gel doesn’t damage your nails at all 💕xax
Morning Xameliax!!! First I would like to say that I love your channel!!! I am new at shellac. I got 1 time and loved cause my nails doesn’t used to last more than 2 days with normal nail polish. So, my husband gave me a surprise: the new mylle shellac kit! I love it and I used once! It came with the spring nail polishes color box. Although I loved the colors, sometimes I know I will miss my tradicional nail polish that I have at home. Do you think it’s possible to use traditional nail polish at shellac? Still using the shellac base and top coat?
Hey Natalia, so glad you’re part of team xax! 😊💕🥰 have you got mylee gel polished or CND shellac? Shellac is a brand name of a hybrid gel polish by CND - you need to be trained to use it and it’s not a brand I use so I’m not sure if that’s what you have. But if you have mylee polish, yes you can use a base coat, put regular polish in the middle and finish with a gel top coat - but the products always work best when they’re used with their direct counterparts - so gel polish with gel polish 😊xax

This is great, thank you. However, I didn't get it something. I'm curing with the lamp after base coat but it wasn't said if I'm also curing if after every layer of gel ? Before and after top coat? Or is it just after base coat and the just the second time at the end after top coat? Do I put top coat on cured nails or on a soft ones?
You must cure every single layer - you can't put wet gel over wet gel. As demonstrated in the video its base, cure, colour, cure, colour, cure, top cure. Your kit should also have come with instructions for you to follow as well x
Hey! Thank you for this video. I have just purchased this kit. I have been scared away by the recent article on the news about at home gel kits causing reactions and nail damage. Do you stand by this brand and has it ever caused you any reaction?
I want to start doing gel nails as a nail tech, I’ve been looking at so many gel brands etc. do you recommend these for more “professional” use or are they ok for someone just starting out?
I’m not sure what you mean my love? It’s always best to stick with the same lamp for your polish to ensure proper curing as per the manufactures instructions xax
The correct amount of time for your particular brand of polish to cure - it should say on the bottle/box/website of the brand how long it needs. Also make sure to check that it is compatible with your lamp (LED/UV) etc 🤗xax

It's best to stick to the top and base coat made for your polish for the best and safest results really :) xax

I would ALWAYS recommend cuticle oil of some kind. Even if you just use olive oil from your kitchen 😂 it’s important xax

Awww yay! So gel is always tacky until you add the top coat and wipe away the sticky layer (unless you're using a no wipe top coat) xax

It’s totally up to you 😊 I tend to do one hand at once - so all five then once complete I do the other hand xax

I am new at shellac. I got 1 time and loved cause my nails doesn’t used to last more than 2 days with normal nail polish. So, my husband gave me a surprise: the new mylle shellac kit! I love it and I used once!
It came with the spring nail polishes color box.
Although I loved the colors, sometimes I know I will miss my tradicional nail polish that I have at home. Do you think it’s possible to use traditional nail polish at shellac? Still using the shellac base and top coat?
Hey Natalia, so glad you’re part of team xax! 😊💕🥰 have you got mylee gel polished or CND shellac? Shellac is a brand name of a hybrid gel polish by CND - you need to be trained to use it and it’s not a brand I use so I’m not sure if that’s what you have. But if you have mylee polish, yes you can use a base coat, put regular polish in the middle and finish with a gel top coat - but the products always work best when they’re used with their direct counterparts - so gel polish with gel polish 😊xax

Are they fully cured? Are you using the prep wipes not removal wipes? x

Personally I do one hand at a time - it’s a lot easier. Paint and finish one hand then swap x

Hmmm I’m not sure as I don’t use UV but it will say on your lamp instructions as all lamps are different. Go by those 😊💕xax

This is great, thank you. However, I didn't get it something. I'm curing with the lamp after base coat but it wasn't said if I'm also curing if after every layer of gel ? Before and after top coat? Or is it just after base coat and the just the second time at the end after top coat? Do I put top coat on cured nails or on a soft ones?
You must cure every single layer - you can't put wet gel over wet gel. As demonstrated in the video its base, cure, colour, cure, colour, cure, top cure. Your kit should also have come with instructions for you to follow as well x
Hey! Thank you for this video. I have just purchased this kit. I have been scared away by the recent article on the news about at home gel kits causing reactions and nail damage. Do you stand by this brand and has it ever caused you any reaction?
I still use this brand but I am a trained nail tech so I know how to properly use them and avoid damage 💕

I want to start doing gel nails as a nail tech, I’ve been looking at so many gel brands etc. do you recommend these for more “professional” use or are they ok for someone just starting out?
I would say Mylee aren’t the best for professional use but they’re fab for nails at home 😊 annoyingly they have loads of great colours haha 😆 xax

Hi, I never used gel polish and I recently bought Luxa polish but I don’t know if I need two machines or just one .
I’m not sure what you mean my love? It’s always best to stick with the same lamp for your polish to ensure proper curing as per the manufactures instructions xax
How long would you recommend leaving the nails in the lamp for? Xx
The correct amount of time for your particular brand of polish to cure - it should say on the bottle/box/website of the brand how long it needs. Also make sure to check that it is compatible with your lamp (LED/UV) etc 🤗xax
What if I get some of the gel on my skin and it dries? Is it toxic to the skin when it dries? Thank you for this video!
Best to avoid the skin at all costs lovely, it can case burns and allergic reactions 💕
