I like to have my 2nd finger curled but it makes hybrid picking feel cramped. Not sure if I want to open up the 2nd finger to make it work.

Now you have opened a can of worms Mate, now you have to do all the modern picking, like selective picking and SWYBRID, although, i have never seen many make it very musical, the modern guitarist, the Japanese guy , the guy with the tats on his neck etc..surly we can make it more musical, but its great technique
