Why do they dismount off the side of the beam? New to college gymnastics so I'm a bit confused.

they have to if not they will discount that

@@alexeyaaugusta3643Wrong. They do not have to dismount off the side of the beam. They choose to, if it works better for their composition. They can dismount off the end of the beam, which many gymnasts did.
