Well it’s all up to opinion but yes this took way more skill and in my opinion is better. But to others that may not be so. So it’s never correct to assume that something based upon opinion such as music is “better” than other music since it hinges solely on personal preferences and opinions.

This is absolutely amazing! Ode To Joy has always been my favorite piece of classical music (admittedly, I don't listen to a lot of classical music), and here it sounds properly epic and triumphant, keeping the feel of the original, while also giving it a more modern sound. Bravo!

The 'Modern Age' seems to enjoy these 'epic' translations of the Masterpieces. But ... I wonder how would the 'Masters' feel could they hear thier music: improved? enlightened? perverted? Depending on whose ear is listening I suppose. This is NOT a criticism of the 'episcosity' (LOL) of the new sounds. It's just a random thought. I'm enjoying this. But I enjoyed the original sounds, too. And I will listen to both/either, depending on the mood I'm in, or the mood that I seek. Thanks for sharing. As a kid from the first part of the last century, I seldom got to hear works from the Masters, unless on some old late night movie. NOW!!! In this modern time, I can enjoy more musical themes.
Interesting thought. Personally, if I were a composer from that era, I think it would be nice to know people cared and listened to the music enough to make their own performances and arrangements hundreds of years later, but whether or not I liked the arrangement would be a different matter. I could imagine 1 or 2 composers being rather snobbish and turning their nose up at any rearrangement though.

Beethoven probably wouldn't notice the difference if this was played instead of his original composition.
Considering that most of these "Epic Covers" are based on the stylings of modern movie trailers, and movie trailers are intended to invoke emotion and excite the viewer, it's clear why these covers are so popular. And I think we a bit of time to adjust many of the original composers could come to appreciate this evolution of their work. To see how each one has evolved to pull the most emotion from its listener. I feel a true creative could understand the intent, even if they did not necessarily approve of or enjoy the modern musical stylings.
