Jay, Jay, JAY!!!! Appreciate that. I really dolled it up on this one LOL! There are 6 total kick tracks. The 99 cent question is - how many of them are kinda samples? Here's a hint - it's less than 4 and more than 2 😂😂😂😂 Naw man, like I told you, this is how I've always wanted to hear the drums on this. Or I should say, this is a DIY attempt at beefing up the drum mix. It's crazy how much gear all these cats had access to. And in making this drumless........WOW did that open my eyes to the tricks they (MC) used to get this particular vibe. Just an interesting experience on this one dude.
Man, did I ever need this! This cover should send T. Lee scurrying for the practice room! Tons of energy and attitude, technical precision, and the highest hi-hat in rock and roll … in short, everything I needed to see/hear this evening. Fantastic work, as always. And superb showmanship - those cross-over tom/snare accents and one-handed chokes were amazing!
Mr. Buckley - what is up dude? Well man, that's awesome to hear. Do you figure he even sits down to jam on his own anymore? I wonder that with those types of players. I mean, it has become such a job, I sometimes am just curious if they all still feel that same rush or if it's just something they do specifically to get paid. I say that as a RUclips / Club drummer who honestly doesn't like to practice 🤣🤣🤣🤣 - so I'm FAR from judgmental on it. Appreciate you my friend

Michael B!!! Well please know that 1 gets the party going so I am honored that you started that my dude! To me, that is when they were the hungriest and probably the most powerful. Shout will always be their most "metal" album to me. Those cats could write some songs and put on a show. Sucks to see them suing each other again but apparently that's just part of that band LOL!!!

Whoa!!! Killer performance, Trey!!!! These crossovers were super cool. And how casually you swapped out that drum stick you’ve just murdered with your incredibly energetic drumming. These one handed cymbal grabs on both sides of the kit were awesome! Man, your videos are always so spot on and highly entertaining, absolutely loving it!!! 😃👍🥁🔥🔥🔥
Those grabs can and will go wrong 🤣🤣 Aw man, there is one night (many, many, many moons ago) that I'll always remember. I broke my 18 the night before and that wasn't anything new. Problem was that break was on the outside and we (the idiots in this particular band) decided to try and cut out the problem area. Anyways, show got going and it was a night where the place was full, the energy was great and we're having fun. For me, I've got a busted cymbal so I had no issue even standing up and hitting it. BUT - about 3/4ths of the way through the set, I went for that choke and...............ouch. I felt that chunked out square go into my hand and just went "NO" 🤣🤣🤣🤣 It hurt like a mofo. Bled a fair bit too. But, it healed fine and it's still a fun story to tell. Playing with a bandaged hand for a week sucked though. Appreciate you my friend!!!
Well that's incredibly kind of you. Let's see, this was '87? So that's got me at Junior High I think. I think we're 1-2 years apart at best. I remember seeing this video and going 😲😲😲 LOL! Upside down drums blew my mind back then. Just looked awesome. I was convinced one day, I'd look out night after night and see that. Well...............🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Didn't quite work that way Have an awesome weekend buddy
Oh yeahhh, it's so good to see you bringing the heavy lumber and just smashing this classic track! Just pure power and prowess on display... at 3:37 ... crossover fill followed by reverse cymbal crash. Friggin dope, my man!! 🔥💥🤘💥🔥
It's been more than a minute since I'd heard it man. But, this was a nice change of pace and I really do mean it. Mixing this one was massively fun LOL!!! I hope you have an awesome weekend!!!
Part of why RUclips is slanted to a certain demo. I just watched this covered by you while being recommended this cover from a guy who can't stop smiling. You are real and you play this without a desire to make it perfect or cam ready. He isn't. Both of you can certainly play but you represent the rest of us. The beautiful ppl don't try as hard but are rewarded more 😢
🤣🤣🤣🤣 Right on bro but ....... huh? LOL!!!!! Who the fuck can't stop smiling? Inquiring minds wanna know because ALL of us know, smiling is bullshit. We wake up, we work, we get by and if we smile, we make it quick HAHA!!!!!!! Seriously Moses - no clue what you're talking about but I appreciate the hell out of you being kind enough to watch 🤘🤘🤘🤘
OH! The Avril Lavigne guy - he's a hell of a drummer. I just watched him covering Hot For Teacher and I'm the very first one to say that shit was fire! He has incredible skill. On the YT side, he was WAY more made for it than I was. He plays with a lot of power. Great technique (I don't have that), has a broader reach with far fewer videos and is clearly connecting with people and landing damn good gigs. I'm nothing more than a drummer wishing other drummers well on here on that side. This format has become saturated for people looking to keep a body of work public as a resume' available. That said, anybody that can claim this was a helpful tool for them in landing a good gig, that's a win for all of us (to me).
You are a touring drummer TRYB@@TreyBDrums Others won't and don't get it. You know you to climb in your bunk and read a book or watch a vido. That's real.
Amazing once again my friend ! I can hear, see and feel u feeling the songs which makes it so much more authentic and capturing to watch u beating up those drums🤘🏻
🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 Joris, that's all I'm after man. I'm merely trying to entertain and be as real as possible doing it. Comment has absolutely made my day better buddy
Mr. Ken!!!!! This one was mixed with very little filter and no regard for dynamics 😂😂 So my advice to any listener that happens to like this particular song would be turn it on up LOL!!! I hope you are doing great buddy. What's new with ya?
This is one of those songs that I am incapable of listening to/playing at a low level. This needs to be played full blast. Especially in a car. The cymbal choke at 2:10 was extremely satisfying. Sugarfoot Moffett would approve.
🤣🤣🤣 OH Richard, I've had those go so, so wrong along the way. But, honestly - I didn't even realize this until I tried this one - there's this clip in the actual video to this where he (T. Lee) is doing those one handed grabs all over the kit. I swear, I think that was burned into my subconscious 🤣🤣 How are things with you dude?
Things are good here! Thanks for asking! I know that part of the Wild Side video well!!! I love Tommy Lee’s cymbal chokes! The breakdown in Live Wire is another favorite of mine. Sad to see what the Crue have done to themselves over the last few days. They should have just called it quits after the “Final” tour.
Oh brother!!!! this is soooooo effing good!!! a super nice song choice!!! and your drumming improves it even more!!! i struggle to do 16th with my hats on a "normal" height, you use them as a crash, and still have the power and precision that this song deserves!!! amazing!
JERRY!!! This one landed right on the day of the whole Mars / Rest of the Band thing so I toyed with not releasing it (why? I have zero idea). Well - no, I take that back - I do kinda have an idea. I know nothing about any of them but it sure does look shitty that the other 3 members would essentially fire Mick. But again, that's only what it looks like and hell if I know. I do know you flat our rule bro!!!!
Much, MUCH appreciated and thanks for even noticing! I kept the footage on this because this is not a great tune for a stick break. That one was getting ready to go after around 6 had gone in learning it and trying a couple takes. Every single one - I couldn't recover and keep a clean track. Live, it would be nothing but for the sake of getting a good take, I just can't leave those 16th notes with a gap. So, rather than wait on that one to go next, I said "GET OUT" 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Have an awesome weekend my friend
Dude, I thought of Mr. Fournier doing this. Years ago I saw his cover of this and it kicked SO much ass. I was answering some comments and saw it pull up over here to the right and watched it again just for the fuck of it. Mike is a blast to watch. I was going back through my library on samples and I forgot - did you email me some samples? I think you may have and if you did, curious if I used your kick sample in this LOL!!!!
@@TreyBDrums I did send you a kick drum sample but it's hard to tell if it's mine in the mix. Now I really want to know if it is...you need to find out!😂
YO Richard!!!! Fun to give this one a go man. It's a driving tune! It had been a little bit since I'd heard this. Actually has some neat fills in it! By the end, I had no idea what was the lick for lick going on 🤣🤣 Have a great weekend my friend!!!
Cool of ya to say and thank you so much for watching my friend! This is one of his statement tracks for sure. I guess I'm going at it kinda like he does? I couldn't swear to it but from what clips I've watched over the years, he's a right dominant player but really tasteful and a super hard hitter 💪🤘
That whole element of things is thanks to guys along the way who would ride my ass on show vs substance LOL! Hated it at one point because I thought they were being a little unnecessarily rough but in hindsight - I'm bad thankful I was advised to strike the balance early and find my own way of doing it. Earl, I appreciate you dude!!!!!
🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘 LOVE that flat / high / low seated vibe. Started with "maybe" T Lee but was driving home hard by Mikkey Dee, Castillo and others. Eric Singer is another. We all remember those formative years and the players that made us go "WHOA!!!!!!!!!" Appreciate you so, so much my friend!!!!!
Wow, so soon???? What's going on here??? Lol😅 Dude, that was ❤ mix was killer, wished my toms sounded like that!!!!! Always loved this song, I was 19 when it came out and was blown away by the video. Took a week to figure out and get the drum patterns smooth. Amazing job on this, Trey❤😊
HOW do you dig the Scarlett set up man????? I gotta DM you on this! Like this is the most excited I've been. I cannot wait to learn some things from you as you've had time to mess with it. In particular, how do you like the Focusrite Control software? I got a love hate relationship with that side of their product. Rest of it - love it.
AAAhhhhhhhhhh!!!!! G D Trey, that was amazing! Absolute Thunder on the kit. I loved the hell out of this cover. You nailed everything so well and there are so many fills, cymbal catches and everything else. Just awesome! (also, had not heard about the lawsuit until you mentioned it.....children, children children).
Dude, they are this traveling road show of drama anymore. Maybe that's what they were all along. I dunno. But they (MC) aren't going to insert John 5 and suddenly pull and Aerosmith. They won't have a second act. They will continue to sell ridiculous amounts of tickets and make a very, very, very good living. And so I'm being honest - there is a legit question about where Mars is coming from if he wants touring revenue but doesn't want to tour. BUT JESUS - do it behind closed doors. It looks like 3 dudes beating up on a 71 year old business partner. It looks as greedy as it gets bro. Hope you are great man and so sorry I'm running so behind
Dude that was awesome! Was just practicing Iron Maiden’s Stranger In A Strange Land earlier today, which has a similar hi-hat action (but not as aggressive) so this was right up my alley! Keep on kickin’!
Not sure how I missed this one!! Sounds so good and I wanted to ask you about your hats as well!! I will have to read the comments!! Awesomely played Trey!!🤘🤘
That's greatly appreciated and most of all, I just appreciate that you were kind enough to watch and comment 🙏🙏. No automated BS response. I mean it my friend 🤘🤘🤘
In addition to your power, I love all the little tricks like cross sticking that you do. Don't think we don't notice. You're an excellent drum player, and I'm enjoying your channel. Thanks
Tommy Lee is probably one of the hardest hitting drummers out there. Glad to see you playing this. Only cover drummer who probably hits just as hard...🤘
What is new Dom? At this point in time especially, he was a very hard hitting drummer. He's also always had a gift of having great feel. He sure has influenced a ton of people from my age range. He made it all look fun and doable. I was like 14 or 15 and learning to play. I thought "Just play like that and I'll be on MTV! Got it." Turns out, reaching that level of fame wasn't as simple as turning 19 and I was opening for Ozzy 🤣🤣🤣🤣. Nah, they had a lot of things go right for them as a band. Right time and place for sure. I sure appreciate you my friend.
One thing I can assure you I am is grateful 🙏🙏🙏🙏 I never feel awesome but I absolutely feel thankful to the max when people are kind and cool enough to just spend some time on here watching & hopefully leaving with a smile or being entertained. I mean it - thank you so, so much
Awesome, reminds me of bad Santa ,Billy bob Thornton, big drum sizes makes drums look and sound more powerful,I always like playing with my hi-hats high to, when they are to low you look like Ringo
DMAN!!! What is happening dude?????? I miss ya and hope you're doing great. This one was fun to try. Have an awesome weekend and thank you dude 🙏🙏🙏🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Can't believe this came out the day Mick Mars sues em LOL!! What are your thoughts on that? Granted - it's Motley Crue so everything is to be taken with a grain of salt but it sure seems like 3 guys picking on 1 guy
What up Brice!!!! Snare is definitely "altered" 🤣🤣. So I got samples a while back from JST (Joey Sturgis Tones). Anyways, this is a really driving yet straight ahead song. Zero ghost notes to worry about so this was the first time I had a chance to really drill down on almost a hybrid sounding snare. SO - I say all that to say I really appreciate that you took the time to mention it. It's still a 50/50 blend but the difference being the sampled 50 has a harder attack. Appreciate the hell out of you buddy 🤘🤘
Very nice, Trey! You played this song with authority! Well done, brother! I read today that Mick Mars is suing Motley Crüe. Look it up. I hope it’s just a rumor, but I don’t think it is. Can’t wait until your next video is released! 🤘🥁😎🥁🤘
Nope, no rumor. It's a world I don't understand Shawn. I understand that it's big business and I know the higher you go in music, the large the ego side of things gets (whether it's warranted or not is a whole different discussion). But at the end of the damn day, nobody has to be best buds but it's the same thing as being co-workers. You respect your co-workers when they've spent their life helping make you better. Them suing and bitching at each other every time they turn around (along with doing a farewell tour to come right back and take money) is just a look that's a little foreign to me. Important to point out that I'm in my 40's and still playing for 125 a night 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 But even then, I do it for the joy and the fun of an audience. Same reason I'm on here. If that goes, I'm done.
@@TreyBDrums Well said, Trey! I’m on the same page as you, brother. Co-workers are also supposed to be friends - generally speaking. To add to that, bands are supposed to be family. They’re supposed to be on the same team. In reference to what was said in the article that I read about Mick Mars: It breaks my heart to officially know that Mick Mars was the only Crüe member to actually play 100% live music on the last Crüe tour. 😔 If a musician can’t be true to their profession, then it’s time for them to retire from touring. I can understand band mates arguing here & there, but there’s nothing that can’t be settled outside of a courtroom. Greed has become the demise of so many bands - it’s very sad. I’m in my 40s too, by the way. Anyway, I could talk about this all day. Instead, I want to commend you for working for 🥜 while doing something that you absolutely love! If only all musicians would remember their roots, a lot more of them would be a lot more appreciative for what they do. Take care, Trey!
What up, what up????? Well I sure appreciate ya and please know it was fun as hell to try and do this one. This is one of those songs that gets thrown in the "hair" metal bin but it's got some teeth to it. Just sucked that as I finalized the vid, news came pouring out they were suing each other. Oh well - life in the fast lane for the big bands LOL! Have an awesome weekend my friend
Not sure how I missed your latest videos dude. RUclips did me wrong here, nice to see you back! This was stellar really digging into the groove with double strokes on that hats. Mix was nice and crisp. Awesome! 🥳🥳
What's up ya beast!!!!!! Man, you didn't miss a damn thing. Took me a little break and happy to be back. Super nice and kind of you to check in my friend. That's a driving tune and while I'm not the Crue-fan I once was (in terms of their true time as a band to be reckoned with), I still have a strong admiration for songs with tons of hook and Mr. Lee's drumming at that time. I still love that transition into the blues swing sections man. Dude, I hope you are great. All I know is between the covers and the shorts - you are KILLING it on your channel J!!!!!!
Oh the mixing was probably the most fun part on this one LOL! No ghost notes or extensive kick stuff so I could really focus on blending samples and real sounds. The kick turned into chasing a ghost 🤣🤣. I still love the memories I have of the bands in these big arena venues and that kick drum that would rattle a 10,000 to 20,000 seater. It's hard to replicate but I love it to this day when I think about it 🤘🤘🤘🤘
@@TreyBDrums Amazing memories for sure, I can only imagine! The 80s had some of the best songwriters around, especially in the Hair Metal/Alternative Rock scene, and big drum sounds were a huge part of these band's sound. We can thank Phil Collins with it being his fault to have released 1981's "In The Air Tonight" and having inspired those larger than live rhythm sections, lol!
I don't know where you get all your super powers from Trey but you are an excellent drummer wow !!!! this just blows me away what a talent you have brother as with another fine drummer in the community named Bob 70' drum you two are the best mate huge like 46 !!
I cannot overstate how much I respect Bob!!!! He brings his A game every week, every song and with every hit. COULD NOT agree more on that Hayden!!!!! Please know how amazingly thankful I am for this comment buddy 🙏🙏

Loved your stick replace at 2:00, well done 👍 Thank you brotha , good stuff you da man meng!! 🙌👍✌️
Sticks were being stubborn on this one 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I got a brick about 2 weeks ago and I'm down to the last 4-6 now. It had to have been a bad batch. In just practicing this (loosely using the term "practice" LOL!!), I popped 3 sticks. So then as I got to trying to get a clean take, another 3-4 just demolished. Now part of that could be the flat hats / 16th but not that many. It's just been a bad run. And at that point, I could feel that getting ready to go. I threw it a little harder than usual because I was frustrated as hell 🤣🤣 Have an awesome weekend my friend!!!
2:10 Cymbal solo grab and that kickin snare roll.hehehe nailed!! and one hell of a beauty kit sound.. I remember when that song came out... That was quite choice.. Tommy gave that hats groove with a tad "pissst!" in it that stood out for decades to enjoy..lol awesome bro..
GREAT catch! He did give that hat action the business and that slight "pissst" 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘 When I used XTrax to make this drumless, it was really interesting to hear it from a different angle. I wanna say there is a synth of some sort real low in the mix just rolling those 16ths. It's got some serious drive to it
Did you raise your hi hat even more??? You’re gonna need a Sherpa to tighten that clutch if you keep this up.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
THAT is fucking funny.
Badass motherfuckers play HH’s that high. Think ape-hangers on a chopper.
Trey plays like he wrote the song. No wasted motion. Very powerful. Impressive! You can see how much time Trey has put into being a professional at his craft. Great job.

Oh yeahhh, it's so good to see you bringing the heavy lumber and just smashing this classic track! Just pure power and prowess on display... at 3:37 ... crossover fill followed by reverse cymbal crash. Friggin dope, my man!! 🔥💥🤘💥🔥
DUDE - the Deuce cover was pure 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥!!!!!!!! On this, just thank you so much Mike. I really and sincerely mean that brotha.
Awesome Drum Cover Trey I don't think I've ever heard this Motley Crue Song but you did and excellent job Kick Ass. 🆒🆒🤘🤘
It's been more than a minute since I'd heard it man. But, this was a nice change of pace and I really do mean it. Mixing this one was massively fun LOL!!! I hope you have an awesome weekend!!!

Great performance! Well done!
Juhani!!! My most sincere thanks my friend 🙏🙏🙏🙏🤘🤘🤘🤘
@@mosespatton4979 Well, in fairness - I was. Not so much now. But I wouldn't shy away from being one for a major act.
Rather splendid sir.....bravo....
YES!! So dang loud. Love it, Mr Trey! 🤘😎
Mr.

OMG - Sugarfoot is a guy I don't mention enough. LOVE his style 😲😲😲😲
He has the choke game down pat!!!!!
@@TreyBDrums I'm far from being a Michael Jackson fan, yet I watch his Beat It Drumeo performance once a month or so. A very solid musician.
I’m here for the cymbal chokes!!! Hahahaha!
Killer job, as always!
🤣🤣🤣 OH Richard, I've had those go so, so wrong along the way. But, honestly - I didn't even realize this until I tried this one - there's this clip in the actual video to this where he (T. Lee) is doing those one handed grabs all over the kit. I swear, I think that was burned into my subconscious 🤣🤣
How are things with you dude?
Things are good here! Thanks for asking!
I know that part of the Wild Side video well!!! I love Tommy Lee’s cymbal chokes! The breakdown in Live Wire is another favorite of mine. Sad to see what the Crue have done to themselves over the last few days. They should have just called it quits after the “Final” tour.
That snare tone dude! So cool!

Oh brother!!!! this is soooooo effing good!!! a super nice song choice!!! and your drumming improves it even more!!! i struggle to do 16th with my hats on a "normal" height, you use them as a crash, and still have the power and precision that this song deserves!!! amazing!
You got her down pat tonight, brother! That is so awesome dude, truly awesome❤🤘🏻💪😁 and playing with Power!!!!!!!!💪
@@TreyBDrums I agree to brother, if they fired him that’s pretty pretty shitty. After all, he’s done to make that man, and he has made that band!
One of the coolest groove ever! Very nice job Trey...you rocked it!
🙏🙏🙏 I sure appreciate it bro 🤘🤘🤘
That transition to the blues swing it epic LOL!!!!
Badass broken stick changeout!
Killer tune always pumps me up !
Nice job, brother!
So, rather than wait on that one to go next, I said "GET OUT" 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Have an awesome weekend my friend
Your videos always get me amped up and ready to jam..1 badass drummer with style.
Dude, makes my day to read things like that 🙏🙏. I'm just so thankful you watch let alone be that incredibly kind
Solid 4 on the floor with some great 32nd notes on the hi-hat! Great as always Trey.

Andres!!! Cannot tell you how damn much I appreciate that 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Thanks for giving us a little insight into the madman - Tommy Lee's drumming.
Killing it as always Trey! I realized your showmanship never gets in the way of the pocket! Great drumming my friend! 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
That whole element of things is thanks to guys along the way who would ride my ass on show vs substance LOL!

Can't believe this came out the day Mick Mars sues em LOL!! What are your thoughts on that? Granted - it's Motley Crue so everything is to be taken with a grain of salt but it sure seems like 3 guys picking on 1 guy
@@TreyBDrums he sued them??? I gotta look it up. Didn't know about it. Maybe he's mad about John 5....haha
You rock, bro!! 🤘😎
YOU rock for being kind enough to watch Luis!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 🙏🙏🙏🙏🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Freaking nicely done Trey! I like your snare sound a lot on this one! 🤘🤘🤘
Yo Trey fabulous job my friend.
@@TreyBDrums not much. I could tell you had fun.

Your chops are spot on!!!! As a guitarist I gotta say I have drum envy 🤣🤣🤣
🤣🤣🤣 It's all good - I've had guitar envy all my live LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Those sounds!!! Thunderous playing Trey \m/

I threw it a little harder than usual because I was frustrated as hell 🤣🤣
Have an awesome weekend my friend!!!

GREAT catch! He did give that hat action the business and that slight "pissst" 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘 When I used XTrax to make this drumless, it was really interesting to hear it from a different angle.
