    Hello I followed this guide to change my thermal paste since I had overheating issues. I changed both my thermal pads and thermal paste. I used grizzly thermal pads and Corsair TM30 thermal paste. I decided to try the dot technique since it was a lot simpler for me.
    After reassembly the console worked for an hour until it clicked off. No three beeps like the usual overheating. After 10 minutes to turned back on but had the same issue after 15 minutes of playing.
    Now I’m stumped. Should I try Artic silver 5 paste? Or the spread technique you showed here?

    • @samusranzer
      @samusranzer 4 года назад

      Not really. I actually replaced the thermal paste on my ps4 pro a few days ago, but I did NOT do it like Pro Fixxer. It's not really that dangerous to try it, aside from the fact that you have to remove the warranty sticker. My PS4 so far got better, but I might touch up the thermal paste since I think I might have left a few bubbles in there.

      Chances are that when you turn the device on, the temperature for the processor will spike within seconds and the console will automatically shut itself off because it's overheating.
      If you're unlucky it'll even break itself.

      @AnthonyBlamthony Год назад

      Sir the video was about thermal paste what it does and the best methods of removing the old and various ways of spreading the new dab. Not a video on how to take apart a PS4 piece by piece.

  •  4 года назад +1

    Lol at the thermal past application. Just blob it in the middle, dude. There is no difference in temperatures with all the techniques. We debunked that in the early 90's already. And there is even a more recent video on it on one of Linus' channels. It's all about the right amount. Just a blob. As long as you don't use too little or too much it's ok.

    • @timnergaard3831
      @timnergaard3831 4 года назад +1

      do you have a link to the linus video. Also I've heard it's better to have too much

    •  4 года назад +1

      @@timnergaard3831 Too much does exactly the same as the "correct amount". It just poors over the edge of the cpu. You end up with the right amount between the cpu and the cooler. But with a mess around it.

    • @profixerr6275
      @profixerr6275  4 года назад

      I would personally blob it and call it a day.
      But when running a repair shop you want repeatability and consistency.
      Like you said “as long as you don’t use too little or too much it’s ok”
      With my card smear method, it reduces variables and increases consistency and repeatability and ensures that more techs can apply paste correctly than other methods.
