Jules is at the top of my list of the favorite, most memorable things I have ever done. This is an awesome video to show my friends, so they can see for themselves why I rave so much about the adventure that awaits under the sea. Thanks for sharing Elena.
i am terrified of deep water so diving into the hotel would be really scary. if i could make it there it'd be awesome. i 'd rather stay at an under water hotel/room that i can walk down into rather than dive down to. still amazing though.
Unfortunately it seems like the high price tag didn't hit it until it got exposure on RUclips I used to go down to Florida all the time I remember going by this place in like 2006 and it was like $400 a night back then but that was the price for a whole family or a single person but they kind of explain to you back then you were renting out the space for that amount of time and food and everything was included in the price they would also tell you to bring a whole lot of stuff with you down there
Great idea, terrible location. It's in a lagoon. That means that when anything at all moves, all of the tiny bits of dirt are stirred up and the visibility drops to zero. It's at the end of a long lagoon, so any time anyone along that lagoon takes out a boat, the dirt is stirred up and it becomes worthless. The hotel has no control over all the other people who live along the lagoon. We were there after kids were snorkeling around during the day. We had zero visibility until the morning because the particulate matter takes a very long time to settle. We were so excited about being able to dive down and be underwater. I called my sisters and brother, which was kind of cool. But we couldn't see much. There are only tiny fish in the lagoon, where fish come to breed. There is no coral, only the roots of the trees. it was $850.00 a night for us in July. In addition to terrible visibility, we were completely unprepared for the smell. It sticks like a hundred locker rooms that were never ventilated. I don't think they can do anything about it. There are air pipes that go down from the surface to the tank, so they have not been able to figure out how to evacuate the whole place to make it smell better. Essentially, everyone's sweat over all the years hangs in the air. We could eat at our little table, but we didn't have much appetite. It was cool to go out of the lodge as often as we wanted to during the evening and the next day. If I ever go to an underwater lodge again, I will make sure it is in a coral bed, not in mangroves.
I mean yea but I do have a problem of diving down in deep waters because the pressure in your ears is so much it can make your ears pop and ring and it hurts like hell
Helen, thanks for the info on price yes, that is high and if water was clearer or in coral reef that would be heaven - us fed should do that as a tourist /educational refuge - it would be very cool
i thought it would be luxurious like pictures dat were shown on google when i type: underwater hotels, but when i saw this vid, i was like wat da heck?
i could not sleep in that knowing there is a lot of Water surrounding my every move and wondering if im gonna wake up with no air, in water, and dead....
Chase Mcdonald what i'm saying is that most people aren't afraid of that because they know someone else is in charge whilst they sleep, just like here there is someone watching over you while you sleep
I've never heard of it before and I've been to Florida before but nice documentary of jules someday and maybe to see you there for vacation or something.
ok this is a weird comment but this might be for other too, Have you ever watched a video a lot when you were little and u say it’s ur childhood and then when your older you wanna watch it again but you can’t find it and then you find it again and think to yourself wow i remember watching this, this was my childhood
Travel Stories of course! i used to love this video a lot when i sad younger and watching it again makes me happy! this is such a cool place and i wanna busy some time.
so what if a family came down. do they take one at a time. the place you shower doesnt look big. who would shower wit family members, right... so that leads me back to do you dive one at a time, or is there an off set place to sit and wait for someone to shower. i think that would sort of suck too, waiting... are there more than one shower?
Been there. Done that got the t- shirt. You go for the experience not the view. You can do a night dive round the lodge with just hookah gear. No tank. Coming up underneath into the moon pool is great. Makes you feel like you are in a James Bond film. Didn't get a lot of sleep though. The air conditioning was too noisy.
@@TravelRoads yes I remember you could see the bubbles from the surface. The lodge is at about 10 metres so pressure would be twice atmospheric. Advised not to go flying for a few days afterwards. Definitely a fantastic experience.
SarahMae "What happends if the water freezes an u were trapped there?" If the water in the Florida Keys were to freeze, being trapped would be the LEAST of your worries; it would be the end of life on Earth. Either the planet had been knocked of its orbit and was hurtling away from the sun, or the sun had burned out.
i wouldn't. the water is disgusting and it looks contaminated. you cant really see anything out the window. the rooms are outdated and it looks dark. I would only like this if it were in a crystal clear waters and you feel you are a live aquarium with coral reefs and beautiful underwater sites.
+Dustin dalessandro They brought all the electronics down in small pieces through water tight cases but big things like the TV they just brought down then dissembled and dried it off then resembled so they would not break.
+Peter Sab $850 a night for us in July. Seriously overpriced. HAd it been in a coral reef it would have been worthwhile. The only real value here is strictly novelty.
Haha thanks. I actually can't remember why I even asked, I think I just thought it would be a little deeper than that. My neighborhood pool is like 12 feet
No sharks in the lagoon. You are safe here. For me, the hard part was sleeping underwater. I kept thinking that if I fall asleep, the room might get flooded and I won't have time to get out :D
😊 I remember when the emerald lagoon WASN'T emerald! Thank you Florida plantation barons😢❤. But I'm just a poor kracker with a seminole daughter 🤙🤷So what could i kno really?😉🇺🇲

Best zombie hideout ever.
Yes *clap clap*
damn, this would be an ideal place to hide from the cops if you were a fugitive. lol
i am terrified of deep water so diving into the hotel would be really scary. if i could make it there it'd be awesome. i 'd rather stay at an under water hotel/room that i can walk down into rather than dive down to. still amazing though.
A tunnel of some kind maybe.
I dont have no problem staying in a place like that. Its sort of like being in a naval sub underwater for 6 months
I must be really hard to change the sheets
Same
In my opinion It would be nicer if the water was more blue.
Yeah I don't want to be staring out into muddy brown water.
lol looks like it would be.
A fish with 2 heads and 7 fins.
Lol that's a smart idea xD
yep.
Place looks like the first underwater ghetto. For $1400 for 2, it needs a serious update

Chloe Mason there are some like that in rich middle eastern country’s
This was actually a research vessel. Like a racecar, not built for comfort.
Elena, what a fabulous experience! Thank you for filming & sharing.
Emerald lagoon is nice way of saying algae pit!
Thank you Eli..we just love it and so glad you had such a good time. Hope to see you again soon.
This could be improved, on so many levels.
Cooooool, and just a thought. But that bedroom by the glass window looks like the perfect place to "do it".
Bucket list. If you think about it, this is as close to a space mission you can actually get. We can go further into space then we can our oceans.
I love i! how you did build it underwater??? I have many question about this... I need get some info about that
I remember stopping by there on the way down to Key West back in the 1980's. It's a very cool place and one I want to stay at!
Pretty cool maybe one day I can experience something similar.
7:22 Quite a nice view...
Already screenshoted
perv...
Murky water = low visibility. Where's the bar & smoking lounge?
i could not sleep in that knowing there is a lot of Water surrounding my every move and wondering if im gonna wake up with no air, in water, and dead....
Yeah same
But i would love just one night
you must be so jet-lagged when you get off a plane due to fearing that the plane will fall out of the sky when you go to sleep
i have only been on a plane once and i was 5 and it was not as bad back then??

The perfect war/apocalypse spot tho...
looks pretty claustrophobic!
Being the guy to deliver all the food and cloths must suck diving in and out of the water all the time
+CONDOG bestie If you love diving then it might be a great job!
Guess your right
CONDOG bestie I would LOVE to do this job!!
That’s my new dream job
This is so cool! How much does it cost for a night?
so what if a family came down. do they take one at a time. the place you shower doesnt look big. who would shower wit family members, right... so that leads me back to do you dive one at a time, or is there an off set place to sit and wait for someone to shower. i think that would sort of suck too, waiting... are there more than one shower?
You can shower in your bathing suits.
@@Cm-qo9gj LOL. Nice hygiene you have there.
I would be too scared the glass would break lol
I did not sleep all night thinking "I'm under water" "what if?" .. lol

Coming up underneath into the moon pool is great. Makes you feel like you are in a James Bond film. Didn't get a lot of sleep though. The air conditioning was too noisy.
Why do you need air conditioning?
There's air circulating inside the hotel coming from the surface.
@@TravelRoads yes I remember you could see the bubbles from the surface. The lodge is at about 10 metres so pressure would be twice atmospheric. Advised not to go flying for a few days afterwards. Definitely a fantastic experience.
How well it stand against hurricanes?
screwed if it instantly fills with water.
wow they really sarcastically make the lodge look better in pictures..its covered in algae and its freaking green
Reminds me of Willard Price's Diving Adventure underwater sea
this might be a dumb question but does it have a bathroom or
Sure it has
There are no dumb questions, just dumb people.
@ 2:26 what are you filming with a android phone?
Cost is about 700-900$ a person.
Mi pregunta es esta...
Como metieron los objetos alli ? O.o
Hey! I was curious to which software you use to edit with?
Looks to me like the shower is in the room being monitored by video camera
I know this is 2 years ago-- but I think the shower is probably only used to wash off the outside water?
Good vid!
Not the only underwater hotel in the world anymore.
Jenxxpenn brought me here
What happends if the water freezes an u were trapped there?
It's a tropical environment in the Florida keys😂😂😂 Temperatures rarely go below freezing
He said what if?
Kalin Jenner *she
You clearly havent been to florida my friend
SarahMae "What happends if the water freezes an u were trapped there?"

Ok cool gtfo
very true
It’s a lagoon, in fact, it’s name is the EMERALD lagoon. Emerald is green.
omg this is awesome! i wonder if you came there for vacation and brought a baby how would you get the baby to there but really thats cool
What was the song that was playing?
How does the wet room not fill with water?
The air inside creates a vacuum.
Dubai is in the works in making a Lux underwater hotel this year.
How long can you stay there
Wich area is it located
How did they bring the TV in without ruining it
+Dustin dalessandro i think they built it on land then put it in the water
+Dustin dalessandro They brought all the electronics down in small pieces through water tight cases but big things like the TV they just brought down then dissembled and dried it off then resembled so they would not break.
+Dustin dalessandro
Water does not ruin electronics as long as they are not on while in water and also as long as it is fully dried out.
So you have to be able to swim?
You have to be able to sink.
I think you might be required to have a scuba license to go down there. Although it's not very deep.
I like the fish pillow
If you don't mind me asking, what did your stay cost?
Thanks for that
+Peter Sab $850 a night for us in July. Seriously overpriced. HAd it been in a coral reef it would have been worthwhile. The only real value here is strictly novelty.
thanks for the reply
i would wake up and think im drowning then remember im in a hotel
Like it, but the sea looks very green
Wow, the underwater hotel is located in Key Largo Fl... The water is filthy, ugh.
Did she say 25 feet under the sea??
Haha thanks. I actually can't remember why I even asked, I think I just thought it would be a little deeper than that. My neighborhood pool is like 12 feet
still wondering how it all work
How much for one person for two days?
I would sooo go there but im afraid of sharks
No sharks in the lagoon. You are safe here.
For me, the hard part was sleeping underwater. I kept thinking that if I fall asleep, the room might get flooded and I won't have time to get out :D
I liked the video of the underwater hotel, although the rooms are a bit small for my liking.
what is the pressure under there?
One room has so much pressure, that water doesnt flood in, so the inside pressure equals the underwater pressure. Which is a lot of pressure.
+Flemming Højgaard 35 feet underwater, 2 atmospheres
helen areollan okay :)
LOOKS AMAZING! I need to go there to smoke a joint :)
smoke? lol that would be funny but i dont think you should do that
Good luck suffocating.
It's a lot different in 2015 more rooms a underwater pool ikr and better interior
how, umm... does an underwater pool work?
Amazing, very exiting..
Greeting from me, the beginner who need suggestion and support from you. God bless you
are we in a fish boll or the fish are in the boll
Reminds me of rapture from bioshock :D
What I was thinking
looks like it was built more for one family
he does science under there lol
Watching in 2019
cool
Do they have sharks😰😰😰😰
No sharks. It's a lagoon with only a few fishes swimming by
Was that delivery guyfrom Scuber eats? Or Motemates? Maybe Grub Sub? LMFAO
LOL :))
That’s the Gulf of Mexico definitely not the sea I’ve stayed at the marine lab
That looks like marine lab
Reminds me of LOST
We're close to rapture
WOW
That looks claustrophobic as fuck! It's a hotel, have some doors
I guess that'll have to do lol
Im only 13 but lived in fl all my life and never heard of this place
Right
Kbob wth Fr?!?!😂
A fiend of mine told me about it. I wouldn't had find it otherwise.
good
Always a man always a lighthouse always a city...

👍
I thought it would be nicer inside!! Ewwwww
Sooo True
Dude it’s an underwater hotel.
That itself is incredibly impressive
After 100 days I might be bored!
At 6:47 is cringey
cool place to.... but not everyone can swim it will be much more better if there is an autocar to take u there. cos of cold and other things.
Ahhh...what if a croc enters while you sleeping????? No way thanks!
Pretty sure there is a door to the main entrance
But that entrance look very open to me. When they came in from the the water. Unless I'm just missing the hatch!?
Mando Lindo you are just missing the hatch
my lil sis hate beaches and she 16 so she wouldn't wanna sleep under there
i would hate that hotel
It's an old research station. It was never meant to be as nice as a real hotel.
It was interesting because 7-8 years ago this was the only place you can experience sleeping underwater.
Awesome idea yet horrible execution... it doesn't look comfy in there. And the water is too cloudy to see anything worthwhile.... could be improved on
Can you bring your iPhone
Lol that's where I played gta 5 at
"videomovies"
zombie apocalypse hideout
No it's not they got more and. They building a nother one in florida
