Olivia, it is not so much so about how young you can play this piece, but your interpretation is just stunning and made lots of virtuoso speechless. ...
You are a gift to the world. Your Father is a great teacher. It is not easy to teach one's child. You made that happen with your respect for your Father.
+David Schnerr Thank you Mr. Schnerr.
I am not 60- Playing since 8; rock then jazz then classical lessons at 14. Travelled the streets of Europe for some years performing and often took my classical with my chair and foot stool to do solo on the street corners. Mild to advanced but I have stopped playing for many years. But Ms. Chiang, I just happened to want to learn this piece from Bach to get myself back into it. I am glad I selected your video first, it is the version I want to learn- tame and even keeled. And I think I can do as well as you after 60/70 practices of the whole piece- If so I will be darn proud of myself. I am listening while typing, music is just playing in the background and it brings me back so well. You are off to a great start. I spent all my before and after school hours playing and practicing. I imaging the same for you. Great, so glad Classical Guitar lives on among our youth. Stay will it even if you select a different profession- you are worthy. Excuse the long winded comment- off to some other versions and hope to find of score and tab of your rendition.
Wonderful! Your father must be proud. Keep up the good work.
Thank you so much Olivia. That was a really beautiful clean and thoroughly respectful presentation of Chaconne.
She is amazing! well-based position and finger movement. Outstanding....
Wonderful! Thank you for sharing this music!
Thank you for sharing this performance. You are very talented.I wish you the best of luck .
For a musician at the age of 15, Olivia Chiang shows an astonishing maturity in the interpretation of Johann Sebastian Bach's great Chaconne. I love this work and possess several interpretations of excellent guitarists on LP or CD. At Olivia's video interpretation, crystal clear chords alternate with stupendous runs, so it was a special treat for me to listen to. Keep it up, Olivia. You're on the highway to the guitar sky!
The great thing about this piece, which one of the great works of art, not just music, is that if you simply play it properly, as Olivia has done, Bach is so powerful it will be amazing sounding. AND Olivia has her whole life to perfect and interpret this. Keith Jarrett once said something like Bach plays you, rather than the other way round. And it's so true.
What a beautiful and mature sound. Well done Olivia, simple and elegant with right intonation, like it a lot.
You play so well !!
the left hand fingering is fascinating, flying effortlessly through all the complex positions, excellent !!
just lovely! thank you for sharing!
Beautifully played Olivia.
Excelente sonido, viola, interpretación ,mis felicitaciones Olivia!!!!!
wow, so nice. my favorite violin piece played on a guitar.
The Chaconne with which Bach crowned his "Partita seconda", belong to the most profound things he has written. It's amazing how the 16-year-old artist Olivia Chiang has penetrated into the depth of the composition! Also, Olivia has the tools to solve the technical challenges of this composition! Crystal clear chords and stupendous runs delight the ear of the listener! Congratulations on this splendid Performance of the Chaconne by Bach, Olivia!

!!!Magnífico¡¡¡ Eres la perfección máxima. Dios te conserve la vida muchos años.
Amazing performance for such a young musician, of this very profound and difficult piece.
Olivia, you are a talented person! thank you so much you had the guts to play this for us, the world. Nice baroque-like pronunciation. Nice guitar as well, may be a little too sharp.
Two thumbs up: one for the Guitar, and one for the performance.
Beautiful!!!
Impressive. Talented. Very nice. Beautiful sound. Keep playing and keep practicing.
Timeless music, beautifully played, impressive technique. Thank you!
Nicely done, Olivia. I like the ornaments you've chosen. I'm still learning this piece myself. Wonderful to see a person your age achieve such an accomplishment. I'm sure you will make another version even better. You have a great foundation there. People shouldn't compare you with other players who have been perfecting this piece for more years than you've been alive. I'm sure you have your favorite player of this piece as well as they. My favorite is John Feeley. Good luck with your playing. Thank you for playing this.
Thank you so much
What a great length performance... You really a good memory!
Excellent, Olivia!!! A full theme with armonics, trémolo, and so on. You have played prefectly the tempo. Congratulations!!!
Wonderful!!!
Absolutely superb for such a young musician - it takes courage to take on such a difficult and profound piece as this. I'm sure she will become a major solo artist.

One of the best versions I've heard since 1959 or 1968.
That was a famous teacher and student.
Their spirits live on here!
+Sam Reeves Thank you for such encouraging words
Yes this is possibly one of the better RUclips versions I have heard this year played by a 15 year old whilst still studying Grade 6 ..
You have accomplished so much and I am sure you are on the way to being an incredible player. Very well played. This is probably one of the most beautiful works ever written and it is also one of the most challenging pieces to get right. All the best for the future. Keep up the good work.
Thank you so much.

Amazing talent I could've only dreamed of playing like this at that age.
Awesome!! I really love chaconne and you play it beautifully.
Thank you
I agree. Great job Olivia.
Beautiful rendition. Congratulations!
Great work Olivia, you obviously had studied the transcription's and recordings of Segovia very well. Your playing has more passion than many of the experience guitarist we have today, who have played Bach's Chaconne. There are very few guitarist who can play Bach's Chaconne well and you are now part of that elite group. Congratulations! I hope we have more great recordings in the future from you. Please provide more information on your studies and upcoming recordings. God bless and take care!
Thank you.

Amazing!!!
Great achievement for such a young guitarist. It is admirable your maturity, relaxation, concentration and control in which you play.
this is very peaceful and calming - excellent - well done!
Thank you! :)
When I see negative comments on a performance like this I can only be reminded of a conversation Gregor Piatigorsky had with Pablo Casals about music
This is a great performance: take the "up-down" vibrato on that F in bar 5: never have I seen anyone else do that. And I liked it.
What did they say?
She has a good foundation to build on, but she has a long way to go in terms of phrasing and interpretation. At times it lacked a narrative arc.
_Put another dime in the jutebox!_
Olivia yu have a pure sound.
Big talent 😍
Truly exceptional ... all I can say is *wow*.

Bravo!
Great performance! Thanks for liking my video on facebook.
Bravo !Great job !
The Chaconne is one of the greatest pieces of music ever written and it takes a maestro to bring out the inner emotion and great depth of feeling and suffering that Bach conveyed in his masterpiece. You are an excellent player, but I feel that your performance here lacked emotional expression.
Michajeru Really? She is 15. Over her career she will work on the Chaconne and as she matures will bring her experience and study to her interpretation. I have no doubt she will return again and again to this colossal piece over her entire life. At this point it is far better to play precisely what is written as beautifully as one can with a lovely tone, and clean technique, which is exactly what she has done here. All the "emotional expression" you speak of, which Bach might not approve of anyway, can come later.
Joe Ragusa You are right. For a 15 year old this is an amazing musical performance. In fact it is worthy to be called virtuosic. I believe that we will hear great things from this wonderful young guitarist.
Pfffff Mind blowing!!! The only comment would be that she's not taking advantage of getting away from the bridge to get darker/softer sounds... but other than that, it's absolutely AMAZING!!!!
+oliviajameschiang got yourself a new follower
Great !!
Very gifted!
Brava !
Wow, so good.
This piece is a monster to take on for any guitarist. Never mind trying to memorise it and play it well.. Then you have to put some feeling into it!. I think this is a great and spirited performance. She is very keen on a lot of ornamentation which is perfect for the period of this piece. I would say that it sounds like the guitar has very new strings as they are a bit harsh and they ring a bit. That is not to undermine this amazing accomplishment for this young artist.
Beautifully played!
Extraordinaria interpretación. Como Bach se merece.
Thank you
Incredible
i like it.
awesome ! ! !
Thanks
fantastica!!!!!!!!
very very nice!!!!!!
Bravo Olivia !!!!
Awesome hun
