The original 1950s/1960s OO7 Novels... They always felt like the only media to satisfy a post WWII Video Game world and connection to the Modern War world
A bit of destructability would also be more Authentic as you can now kill enemies with rubble and make holes for creating a new line of sight (should not be possible in bunkers and stronger buildings) and limb tearing when you lay a mine and the foot actually rips off and flies away would add more immersion, more unique guns like a Suomi KP and Krag Jorgensen and gadgets like a Molotov and mortar grenades you can pick up in the WaW campaign could make the game absolute, what i also wish is small cars you can drive when the maps are huge so you do not run around constlantly i might insult og SE players but this is just my opinion, i do think some of these things get actually added, with this game they could always improve,it allows creativity in the most realistic way possible.
I'm hoping in 6 they have more ballistics, they need to really hone the skill of dismemberment and permanent physical ragdoll damage, one of the things that always pissed me off about sniper elite games is getting an eye shot xray seeing the eye explode but they still have their eye and there is no bullet wound. Or if they step on a teller mine they still have all their limbs.
Finished the first DCL mission with only non-lethal takedowns and maybe 5 non-lethal welrod bullets. Was a bit more challenging around the starting area and in the main building due to the large number of enemies and many sightlines they have on eachother. Still did it without rising any (metaphorical) alarms. Took 2h to clear the beaches and military fort but after that i had the liberty to move around. For anyone wondering, in non-lethal stealth runs focus mode, corner/bush camping and the whistle are your best friends. A silenced pistol with the 20 rounds of non-lethal ammo will also help a lot
Maaaan I feel like whistle was so hit or miss for me! Bush camping is absolutely the way to go though. Sometimes just stopping to observe can tell you a lot. I think the real best thing I can say about this game's environment is... It's definitely the most fun I've had sitting in a virtual bush haha
@@Analog_Nightmare Rebellion messed with the sound a lot in se5, enemies will not hear u if they are behind solid objects. That does make sense, u are not gonna hear a whistle thru 5m of solid concrete but it creates funny moments like a bush or chair being able to completely stop sound. But generally if u have a clear line of sight they will be able to hear from ~23-24m away (same as se4). Weirdly enough this only works if enemies are passive, enemies will not always care about line of sight if they are panicked, its pretty inconsistent and i get why high level players are annoyed
Great video. I enjoy the sniper elite games, but the season passes of 5 just killed my excitement for the series. It just seemed so lacklustre compared to the previous games. I never even finished the bonus missions in season pass 1.
Sniper Elite III DLC gave us a pretty good campaign where we got to stop the assasination of Winston Churchill. IV gave us Operation Deathstorm, in my opinion the best DLC missions in the entire franchise. I still think it surpassed the main game. And V? We get to ... stop Vogel. A man who is just the VERY definition of "forgettable" and "pathetic". He appears in ONE cutscene, as the "standing at the back, dressed stupidly and looking stupid man", and is MENTIONED in ONE mission summary where the main villain refers to him (his own assistant mind you) as a "worm", ready to throw him under the bus. And this little tool wants to finish "his masters great works"? Vogel makes Mike Pence come across as Rambo. As a norwegian, to me this was like watching the Kings new years speech (we love that guy) and then watching the PMs new years day speech the day after, which is ALWAYS insanely lame in comparission. I DID enjoy the Kill Hitler mission though. I still find new ways to kill the little sh*t.
I swear the whole time I was thinking about the SE3 DLC. It was such a great little package that was close enough to the events of the main game but still felt distinct
@@Analog_Nightmare Oh yes. First running through mortarfire, and then coming to ancient ruins, where you have to pick off special forces VERY carefully is such a highlight. And Deathstorm was all over just fantastic. They were both their own games. Not just an epilogue.
Hey. It's the guy who made the stupidly long comment last video. I think I'm convinced to get the rest of the DLC maps now as I already have Conqueror. Loved SE5 but haven't played it a hot minute so I suppose now is good a time as any.
I've never felt compelled to comment this before but how do you not have more subscribers? Your voice is the ideal video game reviewer voice and you're so coherent Also the Lee Enfield became my main rifle when it was released. I originally was using the K98 for its stopping power but I figured an Enfield would be more practical for an actual field sniper and infiltrator
What i would like aswell, would be more ways to asassinate high level targets eather by poison, explotion, car accident..... all the good stuff from kill hitler missions, but this time implemented to the main game and once you do those accident assassinations you would get a coll cutcene, but also more importanly a Major event that would favour the player in some way...... like idk soldiers leaving their posts to get a medic or call the infermary.....and when i say leave they Actually leave outside of mission, making your job easier, something like that. also dogs i belive its a good idea to hear you or scent you, but i think also having radio operatior back in SL6 would be good, but make it better in a way by allowing to call in armour like panzer 2, 3, stugs...... and make the game more "lively" and at the same time stop the running and gunning all the time. I belive these would be good changes in my opinion:)
In previous SE games, you'd complete an objective and that would trigger an arrival of something to hinder your escape. I liked that. We got none of that in SE5. The bridge could have required you got to the middle and then you get rushed from both ends whilst you deal with sniper attacks from the sides. When you blow up the aircraft carrier, that was begging for something to happen and giving you something to fight to get out. An ambush, anything! SE5 came out 18 months late but felt rushed. I'm sure the pandemic didn't help so I'm giving them a pass on this one. They heard the complaints so let's hope that SE6 fixes those issues.
Yeah man, the bridge one hurt. They don't reply to my emails but I would love to be able to chat with some current or recent staff about the SE development cycle.
@@Brooksey1992 Meh they where good once you get into the game the only stupid thing about is these Sniper enemies did not fit in any type of way in the game but the tanks where so ridicolous fun bc just to the fact that it was a zombie tank they tried new stuff some hit some shit is not the best game but i only paid 30 euros plus a dlc.
The Pederson rifle has to be the silliest idea in a sniper game: a rifle you can't put a scope on. I tried it on a couple of missions and it takes multiple shots to kill your foe unless yo get lucky, and I kept running out of ammo as a consequence. As for getting 50 head at 100 yards to master it, how long is that going to take?
I hear you, literally the only times I used it seriously was to review it, and outside of really close quarters there was no reason to use it. The STG44 with a scope makes a better rifle than the Pederson does
Whats tough about this dlc for me is the fact that most of it is just filler to hike up the price, atleast in my own opinion. Im interested in some of the guns and maybe 2 of the character skins but beyond that Im only really interested in the additional levels. For that reason, its just really hard to justify paying $70 for what you get if Im being realistic about what I'll actually use
I bought every game with most dlc included for maybe 17 euros but tbh i noticed that the dlc maps have some parts of the main maps in it one time i thought i was playing a main map but it was a dlc map it confused the shit out of me but the guns ecxept one are all worth it and the only dlc map really worth playing is the Burghof where you can kill Hitler the others are so 6-7 out of 10.
I’m still mad over the fact that we didn’t get the M1 Garand in SE5. And instead we got the Pedersen rifle which hardly feels like a substitute since it offers only iron sights and mediocre stats across the board.
Thank you for this video. What bothers me with Rebellion is that they become more and more greedy and lazy. It just baffles me that Sniper Elite Resistance will keep using the same engine, animations and overall graphics that have been used since Sniper Elite V2 (just barely improved). Yeah the levels became and more complex throughout the games but not making an effort on the rest is pure greediness, and that was also why I didn't buy Sniper Elite 5 day one and waited for the price to drop.
I am just hoping 6 will use motion capture for more realistic animations like how Naughty Dog used motion capture in The Last of Us. I think that is the main area that it could improve on.
Landing force is by far one of the hardest missions in this game. I play into stealth very hard, all my guns are made to be ridiculously quiet and all my utility is built around taking out tanks and so on
You didn’t include how any of these maps feel during invasions. Invasions on the DLC maps would’ve been fun if most of these DLC maps didn’t have the exfil take place at a single high point on maps like on Landing Force, Conquer, and Kraken Awakes. Anyone with knowledge on the map’s layouts and objective locations can simply camp each other out which makes invasions boring at that point. Target Hitler ain’t much better for invasions as cuz of that one tunnel that first time players need to go through in order to get to Hitler which becomes a bottleneck at that point. The only DLC map that is good for invasions is the Rough Landing DLC map as that one has various ways for completing each main objective and multiple exfil points for when you beat the mission.
7:10 you mentioned Kraft dinner, hello fellow Canadian 😅 the Americans have no idea what you’re talking about. Edit: what the hell is the Moyzin rifle?! It’s Mosin pronounced “Moe-Zin”
I've been trying to pronounce weapon/names/places with the proper pronunciation from wherever they originated. What you heard was what I will call "an attempt" 😉
@@Analog_Nightmare if you had to buy just one of the DLC’s what one would you get? I recently bought the base game on steam sale. Now I want the DLC so I either have to buy the deluxe edition and then I would’ve just bought the base game for no reason, or…. Buy just one DLC. If I buy just both the DLC with the base game it comes to 58$ with the base game. And the deluxe is only 34$ :( I messed up. Both DLC’s are more than 20$ so what one should I get?
The best way to play this game is to play it like ghost recon wildlands or modern hitman. Lethal and quiet. Once you raise the alarm the game loses its charm
Lathery voice? Check. Smooth editing? Check. Funny writing? Check. Only getting better and better

Dogs and inclement weather would be fantastic, especially if you can adjust the weather for each map

Since we are pointing out mistakes: the word is "foliage," not "foilage."
And I'll never take that advice for granite.
