Except for when the Bible says "baptism now saves you"....
Matt 9 - Before death and resurrection, Jesus can forgive whoever he wants, even the thief on the cross.
Matt 28 - After death and resurrection, Jesus by his own authority makes baptism a requirement for everyone
Mark 16:16 - "Whoever believes and is baptized will be saveed"

Act 9 - Paul gets baptizeed
Act 10 - Cornelius gets baptized
Act 16 - Phillipian Jailer baptized

Romans 6:1-4 Baptism is participation in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus (jesus had not died yet, when he granted the thief and many others salvation)
Respectfully, you are wrong, sir. Stop teaching what is false just to appease your denomination/traditional beliefs. God will hold all teachers accountable on judgment day (1 Timothy 4:16)
John answered them all, saying, “I baptize you with water, but he who is mightier than I is coming, the strap of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. Luke 3:16 ESV
Don’t forget.
“John baptized with water, but in just a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.””
Acts of the Apostles 1:5
Dang I never pieced that together nice catch.
The thief on the Cross was saved without being baptized.
No baptism, no communion, no confirmation, no speaking in tongues, no mission trip, no volunteerism, and no church membership. He couldn’t even bend his knees to pray. He didn’t say the sinner’s prayer and among other things, he was a thief. Jesus didn’t take away his pain, heal his body, or smite the scoffers. Yet it was a thief who walked into heaven the same hour as Jesus simply by believing
How do you know he was not baptized? You are assuming that.
What did he do?
But did anyone actually verify that claim by seeking out that thief and asking him what happened? No one? Then it's an unverifiable claim, and nobody knows whether salvation is actually a real thing beyond your imagination.
@@itsJPhere
considering the examples of the two thieves that were crucified with Jesus, the one on right was with Jesus that night because of his repentance while the other guy went onto the other side. this is enough evidence for anyone who's serious about his hereafter.
you wouldn't want to wait till it's your turn to transit before you care to believe. then it would've been too late ‼️

Tei salvation is not of works, lest any man should boast (Eph 2:8-9)
@@changedman6035 That is a letter written to the church at Ephesus. Those people were baptized in water and were filled with the Holy Ghost (Acts chapter 19).
@@kedricmanson9873 Kedric, you have to let Scripture speak for itself instead of ripping it out of context. Ephesians 1 says nothing about water baptism for salvation. I'm warning you, baptismal regeneration is a damnable heresy that if you continue to believe it you will be damned to hell forever.
@@changedman6035 If you don’t believe in baptismal regeneration, then you don’t believe the Word of God. Ephesians is not written to sinners. It was written to the saints who were in the Church at Ephesus. They were saved by grace through faith when they believed and obeyed the gospel (Acts 2:38). It is not a letter written to sinners for a way for them to become saved. Once you have obeyed the same gospel that the Ephesians obeyed, then you can read the letter as if it were addressed to you.
How can you say baptismal regeneration is heresy? Jesus said he who believes and is baptized shall be saved. The Bible says that baptism saves us (1 Peter 3:21). The Bible says that baptism in Jesus’ name is how we contact the blood of Christ (Acts 22:16).

If Jesus get baptized, I definitely do it.
And that too proves it is not needed for salvation.. Jesus did not need salvation.
@@RickStewart1776St John the Baptist's baptism wasn't the true baptism:
He said to them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?” They said to him, “No, we haven’t even heard that there is a Holy Spirit.” He said, “Into what then were you baptized?” They said, “Into John’s baptism.” Paul said, “John indeed baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying to the people that they should believe in the one who would come after him, that is, in Christ Jesus.” When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.

Now you might say "See? Water baptism doesn't save, only the baptism in the Holy Spirit!" but look at these verses:
Jesus answered him, “Most certainly I tell you, unless one is born anew, he can’t see God’s Kingdom.” Jesus answered, “Most certainly I tell you, unless one is born of water and Spirit, he can’t enter into God’s Kingdom.

Ephesians 4:5 WEBUS
"Well, water baptism isn't actual baptism." you may affirm, yet the apostles baptized in water, which is said to be the baptism in Jesus' Name (now to clarify this, to say in Jesus' Name is to clarify what kind of baptism it was, since there were baptisms being done by Jews and pagans. The Trinitarian formula is the one that has to be used for the baptism to be valid), even when it was inconvenient. Also notice that the early Church fathers, even those who knew the apostles, affirmed baptismal regeneration.
Jesus got baptized for us, he lived the perfect life for us, he suffered and died for us, he paid our debt for us, so we didn’t have to, he said, “It is finished!”

“Baptism now saves you”.
1 Peter 3:21
“While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit came on all who heard the message. The circumcised believers who had come with Peter were astonished that the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out even on Gentiles. For they heard them speaking in tongues and praising God. Then Peter said, “Surely no one can stand in the way of their being baptized with water. They have received the Holy Spirit just as we have.” Acts 10:44-46
What Was the Purpose of Water Baptism?
The Jews, under their “gospel of the kingdom,” water baptism was a required expression of believing faith.
We see in Luke 7:28-30 those that were baptized with the baptism of John, justified God, and those that chose not to be baptized, rejected the counsel of God.
Luke 7:28-30
28 For I say unto you, Among those that are born of women there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptist: but he that is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.
29 And all the people that heard him, and the publicans, justified God, being baptized with the baptism of John.
30 But the Pharisees and lawyers rejected the counsel of God against themselves, being not baptized of him.
John’s baptism was a symbolic baptism. God tells us in Hebrews 9:22 that there is no “remission of sins” without the shedding of blood. At this time, Christ’s blood had not yet been shed.
Jesus spoke in Matthew 26:28 about His blood being the blood of the New Testament which is shed for “many” for the “remission of sins.”
Matthew 26:28 For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.
We see in Acts 2:38 that on Pentecost, Peter preaches repentance and baptism for the “remission of sins.” Christ’s blood had been shed, so “remission of sins” was available for those who by faith obeyed and were baptized.
Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
We see in Mark 16:16 where Jesus speaks of believing faith accompanied by obedience.
Mark 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
In I Samuel 15:22 we are told “behold to obey is better than sacrifice.” Christ is the Lamb of God. He willingly sacrificed Himself upon the cross. Those under the “gospel of the kingdom” who believed in Jesus as the Christ, the Son of God, possessed obedient faith and were baptized.
@discipledavedotcom1748bro its two form of baptism that makes our salvation complete, (1) water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ for the washing and regeneration from sin and (2) the spiritual baptism which is renewing of the Holy Ghost, 1 peter is dealing with water because it compared it with Noah and how he and his family was saved by water , but water baptism does not remove the filthy nature or desires of our flesh but it cleans our conscience from sin so that we can serve God in spirit and in truth or live a resurrected life by the Holy Ghost of Christ,
Go back to the scriptures read the book of act and you will see that the disciples make sure that both water baptism and spirit was and assurance to all believers , even that apostle Paul

@discipledavedotcom Not sure why you're being so hostile towards me. I also never said baptism is or isn't works. Or that it does or doesn't save you. A Biblical fallacy; Wrong gospel.
Water baptism was part of Israels MANDITORY law program.
We do NOT find our salvation doctrine in the old testiment law program that was for JEWS in Isreael only.
They had to be water
baptised. Why?
As a SIGN unto obedience of the Law.
Praise God you are using scripture to make your point. However, you must consider the progressive nature of scripture, and rightly divide the word of truth as God instructed:
"Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." - 2 Timothy 2:15 KJV
Mathew 10:15
According to scripture, that passage along with Mark 16:16 happened at a time BEFOR ANYONE KNEW Jesus would be crucified on the cross for the forgivness of Israels PAST sins.
Mathew, Mark, Luke, John, Peter and James were ALL JEWISH apostiles, commissioned by thier JEWISH Massiah, to preach a JEWISH kingdom gospel to JEWS in the JEWISH nation of ISRAEL.
Jesus said to the 12, do NOT take the kingdom gospel to any sameritain or Gentile.
[Mat 10:5-6 KJV]
"These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not:
But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel."
Jesus aso stated clearly that he had "only come for the lost sheep of the house of ISRAEL"
"But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel." - Matthew 15:24 KJV
At that time, Gentiles were considered aliens. Strangers to the commonwealth of ISRAEL. Without God and hope in the world.
Your apostle Paul says:
"That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:" - Ephesians 2:12 KJV
That would be you. That would be all of us in this comment area. We would be Gentiles who "knew not the law".
Sin cannot be imputed where there is no law.
Acts 2:38 says water baptism was part of the MANDITORY law for the REMISSION of sins. No washing away of sins? No remission.
If you were a Jew in Isreael at that time, and you failed to get baptised, you were UNCLEAN. A child of disobedience.
Peter said that SALVATION would come AFTER Isreael would be "born again" as a nation of Kings and Preists at at the end of thier (Jacobs/Israels) trouble.. Not a gentile in sight.
Jesus, through the pen of your apostle Paul says:
"For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect." - 1 Corinthians 1:17 KJV
"For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit." - 1 Corinthians 12:13 KJV
"One Lord, one faith, one baptism," - Ephesians 4:5 KJV
"Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead." - Colossians 2:12 KJV
*We can now conclude that a man today is not justified by the deeds of the law, but by FAITH in the finished crosswork of Jesus Christ.*

No it doesn’t. As the thief on the cross wasn’t baptized, and is in heaven now.
@@alil6547 there is actually no scripture which blatantly states that the thief on the cross was not baptized. That is an assumption based upon the silence of Scripture. To be clear, scripture does not state that he was or was not baptized for certain. One person could make the argument that it is more likely, however officially unconfirmed, that the thief was baptized under John. (or possibly the disciples of Jesus). Besides from the obvious scriptures that a lot of people were being baptized by John and we could make the assumption off of that, there is actually a stronger argument that can be said.
Jesus himself said “John 3:5
5 Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.”
instead of making a weak argument based upon the silence of Scripture, we could make a stronger argument for the thief’s baptism based upon what Jesus says. Unless the thief was born again of both water and spirit, he would not have entered the kingdom of God. Since the thief was promised paradise after death, we can more reasonably conclude that he was born again of water and spirit. Or another words, baptized. We know that this is baptism because immediately after this conversation, Jesus had his disciples go baptize people. Linking the 2.
Now is this an official answer? No. it’s simply a strong argument. A conclusion based upon logical facts. I’d imagine if Jesus is consistent with himself, then he made a promise to a man who had previously followed his instructions.
Now I am not going to state definitively whether the thief was baptized or not. Again the scripture is silent on this individual specifically. I am merely pointing out that the argument for his baptism is stronger than against it. This is not the definitive answer to whether baptism saves or not. This simply helps points us into the right direction, but does not put us definitively in our destination. For that, we have to look at other scriptures which give us more details.
Just to make clear, when I stated that he previously followed his instructions to be baptized, I am clearly speaking about before the cross. Not to get it confused. I’m not saying that he was baptized while he was on the cross. that would be impossible. So just to clear that up, there is a stronger argument to be had that the thief was baptized before the cross. Again strong argument, not official answer

I believe it's our first act of obedience to Christ.
And Romans 6 tells us that we are united into Christ death burial and resurrection when we are baptized if you have not put on Christ, you are not saved.
“Can you be saved apart from baptism?” And “Does baptism distribute salvation?” Are two very different questions. I would answer “yes” to both of them.
1 Peter 3:21
[21]The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:
The answer is actually "no" on both of them.
And you would be lying to people because the true answer is NO to both of those questions.
@@kedricmanson9873 so baptism is necessary to be saved, but it does not distribute salvation? Explain
meh, it's just stories. anything where the reward comes after your dead is so obviously a scam. wanna lend me some money? i'll pay you back at the graveside.....
This shouldn’t even be a discussion. If we truly love Jesus we would follow his footsteps and get baptized. Right before Jesus ascended up to heaven, HE said he that is baptized and believes shall be saved.
Amen!

For anyone who might get tripped up, please know that there are two prevalent kinds of baptism in the Bible- baptism of water and baptism of the Spirit. Baptism of the Spirit is part of salvation (in-dwelling of God, it happens as you accept Christ as Savior); baptism of water is the outward expression of that. So baptism of water is not what saves, it is the baptism or sealing of the Holy Spirit that confirms our salvation. Water baptism then is there to confirm PUBLICLY that we are in fact saved!
Actually no, there are not two seperate baptisms. There is just one baptism, the only one tripped up on it is you. We have ONE baptism..not two seperate baptisms. There is no such thing as two seperate baptisms. The ancient Church taught one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
@@dman7668 I didn’t leave this comment for you, or for anyone who is sold out thoroughly to the doctrine of salvation being exclusive to water baptism. In the name, not in the water. Accepting Jesus into your life is baptism. So yes it’s required.
Yes the water is also needed for baptism. Jesus said one must be born of water and spirit. Si we cant say we don't need water.
@@dman7668 When Jesus says you must be born of water and spirit he is directly answering a question. You cannot taker a single verse out of context and claim that as doctrine. The whole of the Bible must be used to purify doctrine. Jesus tells Nicodemus in John 3 that a man must be born again. Nicodemus was confused and asked Jesus how he is to be born again. He says he cannot go into his mother's womb a second time. Jesus' response was, "Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of God." The "water" in Jesus' response was a direct statement about the normal human birth process. Your mother's "water" broke for you to be born. However, you must have a second birth apart from this water birth. Don't take my word for it. Listen to what Jesus says next. God knew this would lead to confusion, he rephrased the statement in verse 6 by saying, "That which is born of the flesh is flesh and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit." Jesus clarified what was meant by a water birth. He did not need to clarify to Nicodemus, but to to the countless generations that would follow who read this verse and declared water was needed for salvation by Jesus' decree.

@topherkingz8546 there is no baptism of the Holy Spirit that is seperate from Water Baptism. This isn't how the ancient Church understood baptism. I'm sorry but you are wrong.
Romans 6 says that baptism is a burial service, and when you come out of the water, it is a symbol of resurrection. The thief on the cross was saved and was buried. He is awaiting the Lord's return for resurrection. Praise the Lord for His goodness 😊
Acts 22:16 - Ananias tells Saul, “arise and be baptized, and wash away your sins.” The “washing away” refers to water baptism.
Amen. Just as Peter taught: Not the washing away of dirt but a cleansing of the conscience. One cannot cleanse their conscience without grace, and grace is freely given to those with faith enough to “arise and be baptized for the remission of [their] sins.”
We have to take all the scripture together and not just the parts. Something that I think Mr. Turek would agree with. We are saved by grace through faith when we are baptized into Christ and unified with Him, just as Paul says in Romans 6.
Question. Who baptized Saul if water baptism is required?
@@seanlyons11 We aren’t told specifically who baptized Saul, but contextually, it’s not a stretch to say that Ananias baptized him.

Atheists have the burden of proof to explain how everything came to be and why our existence is possible without the Existence of God from an godless perspective just as Christians have to provide evidence of God's Existence and the validity of His Word.
Evolution requires life to already exist in order to take any effect in living organisms so it doesn't account for the existence of Life and reality. Also evolution is impossible because it goes against The Law of entropy and the second Law of thermodynamics because evolution makes things better whereas nothing continues to get better but decays and turns to absolute destruction in the end. Mark Ridley an Evolutionist said "No evolutionist whether gradualist or punctuationist uses the fossil record as evidence in favor of The Theory of Darwinian Evolution as opposed to special Creation". God's Existence is made perfectly known and observable in the universe as demonstrated in His Handiwork in the intelligently designed manner that Creation was made, human consciences and consciousness historical and archaeological evidence of God's Word being valid history, fulfillment of Bible Prophecies God in His Holiness and Righteousness could give us what we deserve in Hell for our since but He's merciful to give us free will to choose to accept or reject His gift of salvation by grace through faith in His Son Jesus. Jesus said to the 12, do NOT take the kingdom gospel to any sameritain or Gentile.

Strangers to the commonwealth of ISREAEL. Without God and hope in the world.
Your apostle Paul says:

Peter said that SALVATION would come AFTER Isreael would be "born again" as a nation of Kings and Preists at at the end of thier (Jacobs/Israels) trouble.. Not a gentile in sight.

"Baptism is nessesary for salvation" 100% statement, FOR ISREAEL IN "TIME PAST". Not for anyone today.”
Being immersed in Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins and to receive the gift of the Holy Spirit is absolutely required of EVERYONE regards of race or nationality.
“Now when they heard this, they were pierced to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Brethren, what shall we do?” 38 Peter said to them, “Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 For the promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off, as many as the Lord our God will call to Himself.” Acts 2:37-39
Peter is preaching AFTER Jesus died, was buried, and resurrected. He preaches the gospel to the crowd. Nowhere does he limit this invitation to only Jewish people. In fact, he states that the promise is “for all who are far off, as many as the Lord our God will call to Himself.”
He was simply obey what Jesus has told all of them to do before He ascended in Heaven.
“And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. 16 He who has believed and has been baptized shall be saved; but he who has disbelieved shall be condemned.” Mark 16:15,16
You will notice that they are told to “go into ALL the world and preach the gospel to ALL creation.” He doesn’t restrict their preaching to Jewish people, but commands they preach to EVERYONE.
“We do NOT find our salvation doctrine in the old testiment law program that was for JEWS in Isreael only. They had to be water baptised. Why? As a SIGN unto obedience of the Law.”
I am teaching exactly what Jesus said we should preach. Believe, confess, repent, be baptized, and follow Him. The purpose of baptism is to receive forgiveness for our sins and receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. It is stated that baptism “washes away our sins.”
This is how everyone responded to the preaching of the gospel. When Ananias was teaching Saul, he specific told him “Now why do you delay? Get up and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on His name.”
(Acts 22:16)
“Praise God you are using scripture to make your point. However, you must consider the progressive nature of scripture, and rightly divide the word of truth as God instructed: "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." - 2 Timothy 2:15”
I have studied, taught, and preached the Scriptures for over four decades. I understand the Scriptures. I am well versed in hermeneutics and the concept of progress revelation.
“KJV Mathew 10:15 According to scripture, that passage along with Mark 16:16 happened at a time BEFOR ANYONE KNEW Jesus would be crucified on the cross for the forgivness of Israels PAST sins.”
No, Jesus had ALREADY been crucified and resurrected, and it was HIM speaking the passage. You might find using a more up-to-date translation would increase your understanding. Jesus died on the cross for EVERYONE’s sin, not just the Jews.
“Mathew, Mark, Luke, John, Peter and James were ALL JEWISH apostiles, commissioned by thier JEWISH Massiah, to preach a JEWISH kingdom gospel to JEWS in the JEWISH nation of ISRAEL.”
You are partially correct the disciples were all Jews and commissioned by Jesus, as a Jewish rabbi to preach repentance to the nation of Israel saying “The Kingdom of God is at hand.” This has nothing to do with the preaching of Good News after the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus.
“Jesus said to the 12, do NOT take the kingdom gospel to any sameritain or Gentile. [Mat 10:5-6 KJV] "These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not: But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel." Jesus aso stated clearly that he had "only come for the lost sheep of the house of ISRAEL" "But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel." - Matthew 15:24 KJV”
There was no gospel yet. The preaching was the coming of the Kingdom and calling Israel back to God. Jesus had not yet died for our sins.
“At that time, Gentiles were considered aliens. Strangers to the commonwealth of ISREAEL. Without God and hope in the world. Your apostle Paul says: "That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:" - Ephesians 2:12”
Yes, that’s true. However, it was ALWAYS God's intention to save ALL mankind, and never just the Jewish people. Jesus lived, taught, and died under the Old Covenant. It was not until the day of Pentecost in Acts 2 was the gospel was preached, and the people responded.
“That would be you. That would be all of us in this comment area. We would be Gentiles who "knew not the law". Sin cannot be imputed where there is no law.”
Now you are mixing up the message with unrelated subjects.
“Acts 2:38 says water baptism was part of the MANDITORY law for the REMISSION of sins. Not a gentile in sight.”
I have no idea what you are attempting to say.
“We can conclude that a man today is not justified by the deeds of the law, but by FAITH in the finished crosswork of Jesus Christ. Saved people alive today are baptised by and with the Holy Spirit of promise the moment they READ AND BELIEVE the "Gospel of your salvation" according to "Revelation of the Mystery" that the RISEN, GLORIFIED Jesus gave our apostle Paul to give to us.”
No one is suggesting that anyone is justified by deeds. Baptism is simply a step in the process of receiving Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Baptism means to be immersed in water. It is where we are united with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection.
“Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life.” Romans 6:4
It is important to notice where Paul says our new life begins: after our being buried with Christ in baptism.
“2 Corinthians 5:18,19 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 Romans 16:25 Want to be saved and go to heaven? Its NOT about what you do in your flesh, but its because of WHAT and WHO you BELIEVE. You are going the long way around the barn to avoid accepting the clear teaching of Scripture. Baptism plays a part in our salvation as Peter explained.
“Corresponding to that, baptism now saves you-not the removal of dirt from the flesh, but an appeal to God for a good conscience-through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,…” 1 Peter 3:21

Asking this question is almost like asking your spouse, “What is the least that I can do to love you?”
I think you’re asking the wrong question. We should want to do the most that we can for Jesus. It really doesn’t matter if you have to do it or not.
Jesus wants you to be baptized as obedience to Him. Sure it’s not necessary for salvation, but it’s necessary in order to please Him.
@@alil6547No, what you are saying Alil is not what Christians believed about baptism. You are an example of how heresy has leaked it's way into Christianity. If you do some research you will learn that what you are saying isnt what the Church taught for centuries on baptism.

When I stated baptism was necessary to enter heaven I never stated it was absolutely necessary. There are exceptions, obviously those who died before Christ gave his message to the world are not going to be barred from heaven. @@kalsven Read your Bible much? Do you believe it?
It’s absolutely necessary for salvation. Ananias told Paul it would wash away his sins (Act 22:16). Peter said it was a step that was necessary for the remission of sins and that it saves us (Act 2:38; 1Pet 3:20-21). That’s why he commanded it (Act 10:48). Paul likened it to spiritual circumcision and a burial with Christ (Rom 6:4; Col 2:11-12). Under the Old Covenant circumcision was essential to be one of God’s people (Gen 17:14). One reason Paul called it circumcision because it’s of equal importance to be obedient to Jesus’ command to be baptized (Mar 16:16). Paul makes the statement that God’s people are those that have received this spiritual circumcision, which he clearly believes to be performed during water baptism (Rom 2:29).
The blood of Jesus is present in the water if it’s performed in His name. It’s a New Testament RED SEA experience which EVERYONE had to go through to get out of Egypt (1Cor 10:1-2).
Baptism is your affirmation to everyone and God that you follow Christ 😊 Amen! Now go forth!
which water though?
@@HarryNicNicholas what do you mean? Any water I suppose; the sea, a lake, a bath tub, the ocean. It isn't all about the water but about the person being dipped under water that they are cleansing themselves of their past life and setting a new life ahead with God in mind.
Why does everyone just want affirmation from everyone else? I doubt that's the reason for baptism.
We are saved by grace through faith, not of works, it is the gift of God. There is nothing a man can do to save himself. God’s grace by definition means unmerited favor. Confessing, asking, praying, or baptizing are all works that come after initial salvation. The only condition for being saved that’s recorded in the Scriptures is the Greek word “pistuo” which means believe. This is what separates genuine Christianity from every other religion that says there is something mankind can do themselves to earn Gods favor. Religion puts a limit on God and what He is capable off. To me, it’s disturbing how so many sinful people can think this way. Considering man’s nature is what separates him from God in the first place. So salvation has to be from God alone for this very reason.
Also, the thief on the cross didn’t have to be baptized to be saved.
Wrong. You are not the thief, nor will anyone ever be in the same context as the thief, being crucified next to God incarnate. The thief died under the old covenant, before the Great Commission. Furthermore, you cannot prove the thief was not Baptized by John or by Jesus or one of his disciples, as all of Judea was going to the Jordan to be Baptized.
Baptism is a commandment not a work. If you love Jesus Christ you follow his commandments and are baptized unto salvation. You cannot pick and choose, and make excuses not to be baptized.

In the other hand you said some truth
Example Yes it is possible to be saved if you had accepted the lord, but you just happen to die before you got baptized.
Partly right. It’s not the lack of Baptism that condemns you it’s the lack of faith. So many are confused that Baptism is something we do. It is something GOD does. It’s how Salvation is delivered.

Was the gospel in existence before Christ died, buried and resurrected?According to Mark 16:15-16, what do you have to believe before you get baptized? The gospel. It’s the first command for all new believers to show obedience to Christ.
I am surprised that Dr

Not many of us should become teachers as it invokes a harsher judgment. Obey Jesus and be baptized. In the very least, don’t risk it.
People dnt knw what baptism represents, it is very important to be baptized as a Christian, you wnt enter the kingdom of God without baptism.
This is why the salvation of the thief on the cross is so important. The guy could literally not do anything. He couldn't go to church. He couldn't read his Bible. He couldn't do any sacraments or any special rituals. He couldn't give to the poor. He couldn't become a missionary. He couldn't read the Bible and he certainly couldn't be baptized. But we know he was saved. He didn't go to purgatory because Jesus said to him "This very day you will be with me in paradise." We don't even know his name but he had the most important salvation in the Bible because it teaches us who can be saved. If a condemned criminal in the throes of death puts his faith in Jesus he will be saved.
And he could not participate in the death burial and resurrection of Jesus because it had not yet taken place. Roman's 6. He died under the old covenant. And yes, Jesus can save anyone he wants, anyway he wants to.

"Don't you know that those of us who have been immersed into the Messiah Jesus have been immersed into his death? Through immersion into his death we were buried with him; so that just as, through the glory of the Father, the Messiah was raised from the dead, likewise we too might live a new life. For IF we have been united with him in a death like his, we will also be united with him in a resurrection like his. We know that our old self was put to death on the cross with him, so that the entire body of our sinful propensities might be destroyed, and we might no longer be enslaved to sin. For someone who has died has been cleared from sin. Now since we died with the Messiah, we trust that we will also live with him."
So if we are NOT immersed, we have NOT died with him, were NOT buried with him, were NOT raised to new life, will NOT be raised in the future, are NOT set free from sin, and have NOT been cleared from sin.
Jesus clearly said that baptism is part of the gospel in Mark 16:15-16 and the Holy Spirit said through Paul in 2 Thess 1:8 that those who don't obey that gospel will be punished.
I think the theif on the cross settled that debate before it began.
No actually he didn't. The thief was baptized in blood. We call this baptism by desire. The good thief is just an exception. The normative means is water baptism. This outlier is not a good example of how baptism is not necessary.
He went to paradise, not to heaven. Christ told him that he'd go to paradise, where Christ was going. There the gospel was taught to those who didn't have an opportunity to receive it. 1 Peter chapters 3-4 teach us this. Paul then taught in 1 Corinth 15, that baptism was performed for the dead.
I'd say, this definitely puts baptism in the category of required for salvation.

“Baptism now saves you”
Bible
Baptism is 100% part of the gospel. For we are burried together with Him through baptism.
Only those who love Him will be saved, and if you love Him you will keep His commandments, ie be baptized.
I do believe there are exceptions, ie someone who would be baptized but is not able to, like death bed conversions etc.
Jesus did!
Jesus says: “If you love Me, keep My commandments … He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me … If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him.” John 14:15-24.
Guys it’s definitely required. Evangelicals are required to think no ordinance is required since they don’t hold any authority to perform ordinances
You should do it, but it is not required
@@SamAdamsGhost incorrect. It IS required. Baptism doesn’t save in and of itself, but without it you can’t be saved

@@NOOBKILLER052 Idk what kind of wack church you went to, but Heaven is Paradise.
The thief on the cross died as an Old Testament / Old Covenant believer. Christ had not died for the sins of the world and not been raised for our justification at that point. He is in the same situation as Lazarus and the rich man of Luke 16:19-31. Found in the bosom of Abraham. It was not until Christ died that the graves were opened and the OT saints graves burst open. (Matt. 27:52-5) Take a close look at 1 Peter chapters 3&4. (End of 3 and the beginning of 4)
He was baptized. He lived in Judea and they all got baptized Mark 1:5
If baptism is required for salvation then that means salvation is in man's hands.
Oooo I love this! That's a great way to put it 🙂

WATER baptism was of the Jews in Israel under thier faith plus works program Jesus preached during his earthly ministry. This program was MANDITORY, or no remission of sins, and thier faith was in vain.
The baptism of the Holy Spirit happens the moment the individual hears AND BELIEVES this gospel:
This gospel is what we are to believe today, on this side of Jesus' blood stained cross.
Two different gospels, for two different groups of people, at "sundry times" and different manners.
The Holy Spirit sealed me the moment I read and BELIEVED the gospel of my salvation.

“Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins.”
“The Gospel” is the “good news” of Jesus death, burial and resurrection. To obey the Gospel one must be buried with him in baptism to obey it fully. Water is the element God chose. Paul In Corinthians was reprimanding people causing division by who baptized them. Not claiming baptism wasn’t necessary. Point was it doesn’t matter who baptized you as long as you were baptized. Thief on the cross was still under the old law. Maybe he was baby John but doesn’t matter. God in the flesh could forgive sins here. The seriousness of this question cannot be overstated. Eternally damned for being taught wrong is still eternally damned.
But if our beautiful Savior was baptized, who are we to not want to take part of that beautiful act of faith?
Mark 16:16
There is ZERO scriptures that say Baptism is an empty symbol and a public profession of faith. John the Baptist was even baptizing those who had faith in the remission of sins in the water. Mark1:4 John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.
I don't understand why you wouldn't want to be water baptized or why that's a question! Receive the holy spirit and be a warrior for christ in Jesus name!!!!
Then why did Peter say it is for the remission of sins? If you carefully read 1 corinthians 1 he said he was sent by Christ not to baptize but to preach the gospel. These people were focusing on who put them under the water. That's not the point of emphasis. Paul wasn't focusing on putting them under the water. That wasn't the goal, it was to preach about what Jesus did. People responded to that by being baptized. Paul also said in romans 6 and colossians 2:11 that baptism is when we die with Christ and are raised in newness of life. It is when God is working on us through our faith.
Peter was head of the 12 deciples of Jesus during his earthly ministry in the old testiment.
He was a minister of the CIRCUMSIZION. He preached to Jews in Israel only.

Acts 2:38
The Word says "al who call upon the name of the Lord will be saved". And i agree, post your salvation, as an act of obedience, you get baptised.

1 Peter 3:20-21
20 Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.
21 Baptism, which corresponds to this, now saves you, not as a removal of dirt from the body but as an appeal to God for a good conscience, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Baptized is not optional. Stop doing things own way. Acts 2:38
Baptism is required. If you love Him, you keep His commands. Why would Jesus tell you to do it if it weren't necessary? Paul didn't baptize only because the corinthians didn't understand it, and paul didn't want them focused on him but Jesus.
God bless you Dr. Turek ✝️🙏🏾💝
Please listen, you must be baptized to be saved. This is the words spoken by our lord Jesus Christ in Mark 16:16.
Unless you are born of water and spirit, you cannot enter the kingdom of God. John 3:5
So being baptized is apart of the gospel.
People probably ask is it required because they are afraid of water but they must have faith that Jesus will protect them
Christ was baptized so we should be also
It is necessary but you can be saved without it. I believe many verses indicate that baptism is the act which remits your sin along with faith and that it isn't a work: “And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”
Acts 2:38
“But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the *washing of regeneration* and renewal of the Holy Spirit, whom *he poured out on us richly* through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that being justified by his grace we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.”
Titus 3:4-7
When he writes that the gospel saves Dr Turek, that gospel included water baptism.
Also Saint Paul saying in corinthians 1 that he came to preach the gospel not to baptize is not because he did not believe water baptism was necessary. Paul did baptize, that was not his primary function. The church was already doing this. Baptism is absolutely part of the gospel Dr. You should dump protestantism and become a Catholic again, sir.
