I grew up in a junk yard. My dad used to bring old vehicles and disassemble and ship them to Middle East. Soon our yard got flooded with old engines and tires. I was so embarrassed that I stopped inviting friends over. I sometimes lied where I lived. I buried those memories and told myself it did not exist. But ever since I stumble upon your channel I started cherish my past. Thank you, Scott. Keep up the good work!!!!
if you are going to Sweden after December 1st, there is a law on winter tires after December 1st-March 31st, just thought I would inform you so you don't get fined
I got one of them for free once, made it to switzerland and back in it. The idle control valve broke which was awkard at first in traffic, but it turns out you don't need it when you set idle to 3k!
Just bought a 1.1 pug 106 for £400 with 365 days MOT off marketplace, cone filter and a service she's good to get some lift off oversteer on the roundabouts!!
I used to hate Corsa B's because of how lazily they were built and assembled. Now after owning two of them (1.0 and 1.4) I realized what a cracking little car they are for the money. They are very straightforward cars with cheap and easy to find parts. Sure they won't set your pants on fire with performance, but it sure is one of the more comfortable models in the range. Only real problem with them is rust, but if you get one that wasn't built in Spain and is a facelifted model, you don't really have to worry about it.
Hi Scotty! I have a written off 850 TDI manual here that's yours if you want it. The interior stinks of rollies, but it has an R bumper! Well, it did until a wall jumped out in front of me...
Corsa Bs are great, id confidently drive one of those abroad. Just one thing to watch out for if youre planning a long journey, prob change the crank position sensor. When they start to go, the engine starts cold just fine but then might struggle when warmed up, or cut out altogether if the sensors really bad. Cheap and easy fix, just a pain in the arse if you get caught out
i rlly want a Corsa B as a first car cuz it holds quite a lot to damage and etc but i think kids at my school would laugh. So im thinking of buying a Merc s400 w220 or a Subaru Forester 2.0. Someone recomend a good first car?
I honestly was ready to ruin my marriage by buying a K reg Mercedes 250D w124 for 1300quid... to run it on waste oil because ironically its ULEZ 😂 cos its over 30yr old. You inspire me Scotty.
Crap choice tbh because Fcukedall/Ohhelp build mainly rubbish. The Coarser is particularly crappo - an Astral is the pick of the Fcukedall range, preferably the 1.4. Those go to oddly high mileages without crapping the bed. Must be an anomaly.
I think it had pretty strong 1.6 in GSI variants. But 2.0-s can be fitted with correct flywheel and clutch combo. Even 2.5 , 3.0 and 3.2 v6 is doable in not too crazy way. Only problem is that small engine gearboxes tend to break if you dump the clutch too often. Then again bigger gearboxes need custom driveshfts to be fitted/made

Or going head-on sideways into a 60 tonne lumber HGV.
and not to mention swedish people drive like maniacs on the road even with snow and ice.
Also applies to Germany too. Winter tyres are mandatory at this time of year
@@stewart113studded winter tires are banned in germany though
yeah and now the rims and tires have to be of the same make and model too
Ouch. You hit me right in the feels. When my daily breaks, I buy another and I'll add the more broken one to the fix it later field.

Love watching these, and seeing Europe. Thanks Scotty

Always a good start to a day when scotty uploads
still sounds better than some modern cars
Huh? This sounds exactly like any other car..
You can also use your old engine oil to preserve wood from rotting and coat car inner metal parts to prevent corrosion.
Vauxhalls never let me down
The only one didn't bring me home was my cavalier that got nicked in 2004
That was also sold as a holden astra! I have a similar model to this one myself. Although it doesnt work very well
Used to see thousands of Corsa B's, now I can't remember the last time I saw one.
Great cars, just watch the rust. Learnt to drive in one.
If you decide to come to northern Finland, hit me up!
I miss my Corsa B and all those little annoying things that liked to break down which were also comically easy to fix.

@1:11 The last aspect seems to be very compelling. 😂
@1:14 Reliable sounds more like a Honda to me.
Scotty!, The car will make it, you will have a breakdown or two but wont be catastrophic. I have ALL THE FAITH!
I want more videos like this 💯💯❤️ so interesting
I watched this today and my clutch collapsed today... works now but idk how long it will work for. So i think its time for a daily!
Corsa B's are proper little motors, wouldn't mind one as a daily myself.
An oil filter and an air filter is more than what I can afford right now 😭
OW SHIT, you are going to sweden!!! Where?!?
I need to prepare!

Use blocks or jackstands if you're forced to do this, never trust your life to hydraulics

It’s not ULEZ compliant and not ULEZ exempt. It’s not old enough.
@@trainman665 a 1993 one is in scotland where I live.
@@vauxhallvin So it’s not ULEZ compliant or exempt then. Too old to be compliant, and too new to be exempt.
