I was interested in getting one of these until learning it doesn't have self-righting. A major miss for a stunt jet-boat. Glad you were able to recover it.
Surprisingly not 🤷♂️ I thought for sure something was going to be toast. I did end up buying a Traxxas reviver box to rehouse the receiver as the Traxxas box has a rubber ring to better seal from water.
Had to fish mine out of the river last night in Bangor. Was almost completely submerged for 15 minutes. Everything still works great but I lost the magnetic back cover for it so I’ll have to order a new one but no biggie.
It’s tough but doable. Lots of people irritated that there is no SRF (Self Righting Function). It’s a great boat but just a hassle to retrieve when it does flip!
Bad boat design, Roll cage needs air cavity to self right and ALL boats need foam flotation. Auto bilge pump is also easy with proper design, (an intake on the suction side of impeller thru one way ball check valve to lowest point in boat). Just my Opinion from 50+ years playing with RC. $0.02
This boat has foam flotation at the front of the boat but definitely needs some at the rear. Electronics are shifted a bit too far back which when coupled with the heavy current and me throttling out of the wake, caused it to backflip a bit too easily (in my opinion). I should have also not turned directly into the current but sh!t happens. Hopefully in the V2 they work out a self righting function 👍

Thank you! I used what are called “aluminum extension arm mounts” from Smatree. They are about 12 years old but can probably still be found on Amazon

I explained an easy self righting design. ALL boats need floatation and real boats have it in them.

I wouldn’t say it sucks completely. Not having a SRF is a bummer but not a deal breaker for me. There is a lot I do like about this boat
