Season 8 had the worst stress test chaos and failure ever by far however each season has its moments failure I love Taffer... hes so great I can't wait for another season

The stress test is to test the staff onset stress to find out everything that needs to be improved on. If they address the kitchen issues, it may cover up another issue or make the FoH fall out of sync.
Real talk: It takes a very specific personality to be a successful bartender. If not for health issues, I would have gone back to that career. I loved running from one side of the bar to the other! I hate standing around, even now! I currently work as a cashier at a supermarket. While it is true that I mostly stand in one place all day, I am always engaging with every customer.
I've been doing this for 32 years and I absolutely love my job as a bartender and let me say this: YOU. NEVER. STOP. LEARNING!!! But it's sooo thrilling and satisfying when you are crazy busy and everything runs smoothly...

It’s crazy how many of these places have one cook doing most of everything themselves, no one calling board or expediting orders… but I guess that’s why we’re here. Few people (except chefs) are knowledgeable enough to open their own restaurant but so many try.
I learned how to make a Between The Sheets 29 years ago! I could still make one today. The course that I took lasted 2 weeks. There is no reason why these people can't remember how to make one.

At least she must have learned what she needed to out of the course -- she bartended for the next 30 years and I don't think she was ever fired from any bartending jobs. I was an accounting professor for 30 years, to me teaching bartending would seem to be somewhat like teaching accounting (even though the subject matter is wildly different) in the fact that I could never manage to teach someone how to even be a bookkeeper in two weeks so how do you teach a potential bartender how to mix every conceivable drink, commit it to memory and teach proper technique for each drink (which is what my sister's bartending teachers did in her nine month course -- eight hours a day, five days a week) in TWO WEEKS????? I was also a drinker for 45 years and have spent many hundreds if not thousands of hours sitting at a bar watching bartenders work. I know it would take a LOT more than two weeks to teach me the necessary skills and drinks.
@@mharris5047 - The bartending schools that I attended, naturally I have taken some refresher courses, offer a 2 week course and a 1 week course. Both courses are the same amount of hours of training. Many drink recipes have handy mnemonic tricks to help recall their ingredients. Sweet Brandy had triple sex between the sheets and it went sour. Those are the ingredients to a Between the Sheets. Brandy, Triple Sec, Sour Mix, sugar the rim. Also, I find it strange that you question that I could attend and graduate from a bartending school in 2 weeks, yet don't question the validity of Jon Taffer's experts teaching bar staff in 3 days!?! It is totally possible.
Time after time we see bars that can't manage to deliver food to the correct table, and it should be SO simple! Table number, seat number, and order, that's it!

Is it just me or when servers hold your food in front of themselves and talk and talk and talk you ever see how much spray comes out of your mouth at times? I think that’s gross grab the food & serve it !!! Just my opinion
Season 1-7 Jon would’ve already known that the cooking area wouldn’t be usable before the stress test. Either they drummed this up for production, or Jon or the expert never entered the kitchen before the stress test. Terrible on the owner for having crappy equipment, lazy on Jon’s team for not seeing the bad equipment and saying, “no food.” At least I’m assuming the first clip is from the stress test.
It actually feels refreshing to see a bar where the employees are at least aware of their limitations, trying hard, and willing to learn, but they're betrayed by bad infrastructure and lack of systems. Usually there's at least one employee in the bar that's clearly either hopelessly incompetent or a raving asshole (makes for better TV I guess).
I am sure glad I have never had really long wait times just to hate the food. I mean I have had to wait but not get ugly nasty food. Amazon, car hop trays.

I'm not an anti mask person. It's just that with the first stress test, why did any of the customers go in with a mask on? The employees weren't wearing one and all of the customers took their's off so they could eat and or drink something. So there was no point in any of the customers wearing a mask. The whole purpose of the mask was defeated anyway with none of the employees wearing one and eventually all of the customers took their's off and kept it off. The customers also took their masks off right when they sat down. So before they ordered anything.
This is exactly what I thought when the mask regulations came to be. Plus medical masks are designed to prevent the spread of respiratory infections by diminishing the particles let out when you sneeze or cough, so If you're not already sick there's no point in wearing it. And since many people wear masks that leave openings, it destroys the reason you're wearing it for.
Honestly, the types of bars that are on this show are already so disgusting and disease ridden anyway you're gonna catch whatever illness at some point.

In all fairness, every bar that I've been into in the US has been super clean. This show definitely finds the worst of the worst, but it's not an accurate representation of every bar in the country.
