Alex wanted to do an episode on Wendy and her Dad: basically that she has pulled away from him as a teenager and resents his authority at times, but also misses being buddy buddy with him like when she was younger (he still loves her the same). But it was ultimately to difficult for the crew to write stories where Wendy wasn't depicted as laid back or in control.

In the online fantasy game 'Neverwinter,' one of my guy's Companion characters is a big burly blacksmith whose personality I imagine as being VERY similar to Manly Dan, and possibly being an ancestor of his. I named him Big McLargehuge (Anyone who's seen the 'Mystery Science Theater 3000' episode taking on the movie 'Space Mutiny' will recognize that), and as you can probably guess, he can REALLY throw down in combat!
Oh god, so glad I'm not the only one who thought this! They get seen together a bunch of times (notably most of Tyler's season one "Get 'em! Get 'em!" moments we're in regards to Dan), and I totally think they work as a thing.
I used to watch scenes of them together and try to figure out of they were beasties or a couple. I mean Dan is hanging out with Tyler any time he is not doing something with his kids. Ultimately I decided Tyler might be a boyfriend after rewatching the scene in the gobblewonker episode where Tyler does go fishing with Dan and the boys but has to be in a different boat. If he were just Dan's bestie, the kids would probably know him really well, and there would be no reason to keep him distant from them. But if Tyler is their dad's boyfriend and it's a new relationship, possibly the first relationship Dan has been in since their mom died, then it makes perfect sense for the kids to all be possessive of Dan, and for a Tyler to need to be introduced slowly to them.

Given that they really stress her out, she may try to avoid them.
They can also be seen in the multi-bear episode, with them sitting at the same table in Susan's diner.
