A couple of additional thoughts; If you don't nurture your marriage while rearing children, you end up being strangers when the kids are grown. The other is, if you wait to do things until retirement, you end up like me where your beloved spouse dies 6 months prior to retirement and all those plans and dreams vanish because the love of your life isn't here to go enjoy those things with. Take time throughout marriage to grow the love that brought you together in the first place.
I have been guilty of withholding praise from another family member because he comes across "overly" confident and I thought the same thing; I might be adding to arrogance if I praise him. But that episode definitely changed the way I thought about it. I will no longer do that really with anyone. If I see something praiseworthy in someone, I will acknowledge it. It was a really good episode I need to listen to every once in awhile. Thanks guys!
Oh Katie, i am sooooo happy you said you implement all the systems you do, so as to support your weaknesses.. because, when i first bumped into one of you videos back in the day and saw you do all these perfect things, i totally judged you for not showing realistic family stuff and making other women feel bad about their realistic family....But i get it now. I apologise!
I really appreciate your viewpoint on teaching your children false religions. I Never thought of it like that and I rather my son learn it from me and my husband than him grow up and actually experiment these false religions.
Thank you for answering my traveling question with spouse! I saw a comment that said something about homeschooling and being home a lot- and yes I am a homeschooling mom and my husband has a flex job so we are home A LOT. I am blessed for this life- just appreciate the time you took to explain your view point. We are in a season of seeking all the advice in this matter so it was insightful hearing from y’all!
I think if parents are home-schooling these days kids see their parents alot so being away might seem weird but it's not a loss to their quantity of time
Can I ask if you guys follow or know of or respect a Kevin Swanson? He's running a conference (I live in NZ) tomorrow, do you know him/would recommend?
It’s not. Tolkien said it was fundamentally a Christian work. If you dive into the lore as it’s explained in the Silmarillion, it explains the creation story along with the downfall of Satan.

That is unspeakably devastating. I am sorry, and hope you will find joy in life with his memory in your heart..
Your comment is 100% on point

The side tangent to leaving the kids at home and setting a vision for your marriage was the most meaty 😊
