ashlyn (the lead) expressed how she actually loss someone due to dr*g abuse (the story behind the dance) … you can see how she truly put all those emotions in the dance. they are all so talented!
You can tell she’s actually crying. When we do dances like this on the stage they resonate with us in ways. And become emotional for us too. You can tell she was feeling the emotion
This episode and dance made me cry Ashlan is my fav and she did so good in this. This was such an emotional dance and she did so so so good. As a dancer that is a huge compliment!! They all did so good!!
This dance truly gave me goosebumps and a heavy heart. Glo is truly choreographic genius and she really an extra mile Abby never went to the original dance moms series didn’t showcase her full choreographic ability when she went up against Abby. This routine is one that will stay with you for a long time and Ashlan you can freak how genuine her emotions were in this dance I honestly think Ashlan is more of a Contemporary dancer rather than a Jazz dancer.
while i 100% agree with you but with dance moms being on hulu they prob had a bigger budget for props than abby was ever able to have. also the producers come up with the dance name, meaning and the music most of the time the coaches wether it had been abby and gia or now glo and her daughter they just choreograph it but they don’t make it look that way for the show.
I know I’m going to get some hate for this but frankly I don’t care. I truly think Ashlan’s facials are better than Maddie’s as she doesn’t over exaggerate her facials but rather makes the piece look so genuine. What can I say though? Ashlan’s crying as a superpower really saved the day
@@GwenHunt-k1d That’s what I’m saying, she uses real emotions in dance which a lot of people claim that some of the dancers of the OG dance moms use, but in reality, some of them just use over exaggerated faces and call it emotion
This was so absolutely beautiful. I don’t know what this dance was supposed to be about but I interpreted it in so many different ways. Could be drug use, oils be teens committing s*, maybe even a cult, and the last member realizes what’s happening when they’re all going, just a super powerful piece that made me think. Left me speechless. I was a huge fan of DM when it originally aired and I wasn’t going to watch the new one just because I wasn’t super interested now, but this changed my mind.
It was supposed to be about the Fentanyl epidemic… though it could have been interpreted in many ways such as drug overdose, child deaths from violence, unaliving rates, but the show did state it many times that is was related to Fentanyl.
It is sad and emotional - and yet NOT at all appropriate for children to be performing this. It's such a painful, heavy and mature topic on overdosing and death - really for ages 18 and up to perform. I was a professional dancer, I've choreographed for years. I believe children can perform meaningful stories that don't include drugs and death. This exploits children - they can't understand the issues, their brains are not fully developed and it can cause confusion and even fear for themselves. It's just not right. I hope everyone rethinks this. Sending peace and love to you all.
I’m sorry to everyone who has dealt with this or lost a loved one. I just am having a hard time trying not to laugh because they are sad then bust into high school musical and then drop it like it’s hot. Call me mean and I agree. Let me know if it’s just like a dance thing or something
Ik I am gonna get a lot of hate but the way Ashley was crying she just bright that sio much passion to the stage that I truly love maddie but the facile expression is just a lot better xoxo

The story was incredible and amazing. Ashley’s acting was just. I have no words but in the episode Gina was getting a lot of bullying and I feel kind of bad for her because when Audrey got fifth place and and Gina didn’t place at all Audrey said and I beat Gina in front of her that was so rude but I love Audrey too, but she was kind of mean❤❤❤❤
Only in the overalls. Audrina competed in the Teen division and Gina competed in the junior category. But they only showed the overall results.Gina was 5th in juniors and Audrina scored 3rd in the teen category.
I love this dance, but I am confused how this won. This is like a more emotional Waiting room, but with less dancing. Like, they did amazing with emotion, but I am surprised how this won.
Not sure if you know how scoring works, but it’s not always about technique especially in certain categories! These girls had strong emotion, sharp precision and great showmanship!
dance is a form of art its telling the story as well as dancing and dancing isnt always tricks and cool moves its the arm you throw in the air that makes the dance - a dancer
I'd like to add to what people said in the comments, you can see the cuts in the dance. There is more dancing than what it was shown, also they focused on the acting/story but you can see others dancing in the background: Gia's turns, Audrey's tricks...
How, why!!!!! Why are you repeating the torture and abuse on these kids. A repeat of Abby Lee Miller, but actually WORSE!!! YOU encourage bullying. They are team matesand they tear one another down and they're cruel . The parents and teacher is allowing it. I would never allow my child to talk to another child like this!!!!!! Shame on everyone involved for allowing these kids to abuse one another. And then you have the parents acting like 2 yr.olds. I'm glad Audrey got 5th. She is cruel to Gina. She is very arrogant. Teach these kids what it means to be a TEAM!!! Teach them how to be humble. Teach them how to give one another constructive criticism. If this is for the show, then walk away. No show is worth destroying your child's relationships and reputation over being cruel. I never thought Dance mom's could get worse, but this show teaches children how to be cruel, how to bully and how to be arrogant and disrespectful .Please, don't teach it your child to be like this.

Ashlan killed this dance for real . She’s a very emotional child and that is okay!! No one else could have done this like her
She was also connected to the dance because she had a cousin die from drugs so this hit too close to home for her.
How r they so good at acting
Their teacher made their moms write their children's name in a body bag backstage, they could've channeled that... But I agree it's impressive.
