I never practised any martial arts ... but especially the aikido looks always very impressive ... some of these children seem tio have higher belts What would happen if an bigger adult person without any aikido knowledges would go onto the mat and would try to catch them ... would he get thrown or do the shown moves need the cooperation of the partner?
Hi, Atan. At their level here, a large size and strength disparity will likely prove overwhelming. By and large, even trained children cannot challenge large, athletic adults- training makes up for a lot, but there's *a lot* to make up for in the case of a large, strong adult against a child. At lower levels, aikido depends on some level of cooperation from a partner. As skill progresses, you need less and less cooperation, and fighting against your partner actually helps the moves work better. This takes years and years, which is why many people discount the effectiveness of aikido and favor martial arts that are quicker, more direct, and easier to learn, such as muay thai.

i have been in aikidofor nearly 3 months and im gonna be graded in 2 weeks and i cant do any of these..
