In home invasion robberies you should always expect that the criminals are more than likely violent it ain't like snatch and run they are more than likely willing to kill
That is why a lot of smart states have castle laws that mean entering a property without the permission of owner or owners of property can be seen as self defense if the owner uses a firearm or other weapon to defend the property

    • @mallarysangel

Generalizing, in order of least punishable to more, and different from state to state:
      Robbery: theft of a person
Burglary: theft of properties such as cars, coin op machines, uninhabited buildings.
Aggravated robbery : theft of a person while displaying a deadly weapon, or when causing bodily injury.
Burglary of a habitation: theft of an inhabited or inhabitable property
Home invasion : felony during the course of a burglary of a habitation. Generally bodily injury, SA, abduction while displaying a deadly weapon.
You can make an aggravated, or armed, robbery stick on a habitation, while inhabitants are present, but it’s usually gonna work out better to go with a burglary. You can make a home invasion charge under certain circumstances, but it may be better to go with another charge unless its truest intended purpose is met. It’s all about the highest charge with the elements of the crime that fit. It’s better to charge up as much as possible and let the DA knock it down.

I almost got home invasioned once. Guy came to my door with a story, apparently he was being chased by some other guys. This was the first time I had heard this story (I heard the exact same story again about 5 years later), so I let him come in and hide while I call him a taxi. Me being me, I locked my huge ass door behind him, accidentally foiling his plan entirely as his friends would be unable to get in. I then caught him twitching the curtains, and told him to get away from the window before somebody spots him. He wasn't listening, so I lost my patience and went ham on him with my bat. A few days later, I told my friend about the whole ordeal, and that's when I found out that this guy was trying to rob me. What a poor fool.

The home invasion was really, really scary and I’ll tell you why.
I am a retired Seattle public defender and a true crime fan. I’ve been reading true crime since I was a young adult. And I have a weird affection for burglars.
In my experience and most of the things I’ve read, most burglars are stupid bunglers who can’t make it in life. They just want your stuff! Then they’ll fence it. That is their business. It is your job to not leave your sliding glass door open. It is their job to steal your shit. I’m not saying it’s a good thing, but there are worse criminals than burglars.
But these guys proved that they weren’t really burglars.
A home like that has lots of stuff, fencable stuff. Burglars know what that stuff is and they look for it.
These guys did not look for stuff that they could sell. All they seem to be interested was the knives and the knife block.
There was nothing blocking their exit.
When they heard people in the house…they ran TOWARD it.
In my humble opinion, these men were rapists, and possibly hobby murders.
Burglars run AWAY from the presence of people in their marked home. Not towards people.
Burglars stake out a home specifically so that they know nobody is there when they go in to take your shit!

I think sliding doors are the easiest to get in..here’s my few tips on keeping safe..have a gravel path or drive,it’s very hard to walk on without making a noise …grow a thorny bush right under the front window it stops people getting too near.. have movement lights outside ,have cameras linked to ur phone, and if u love dogs have one ..they will generally alert you to movement ,n have a weapon near to ur bed..but best of all is metal, security door shutters if u can afford them .

First time was about 20yrs ago when I was moving out of a place and the guy said the landlord had told him he could just stop by to look at it (godawful landlord, whole story on its own). Second time was more recently when person across the street was moving and an older man came in looking for the tag sale: "Um, that's across the street." Had forgotten to lock the screen door after bringing the dogs in. Both times they were appropriately embarassed, but have always been thankful first guy wasn't a creep and that I had good neighbors if he had been.

I used to think that with so much surveillance ability available to the masses that things like assaults and home- invasions would become obsolete.
It turns out that all that has changed is that those people who have the urges to behave badly have become far more brazen and they are willing to go to greater lengths to express their awful behaviors.
This bodes very badly for small rural communities where seemingly nothing of great interest ever happens. People in these places still feel their communities are just as lively and harmless as they were in the 1950s.
People who are harmful have changed their hunting grounds to these localities. Hunting there is great, better than the olde days.
To them, it does not matter if they are caught on camera. It is not a deterrent in any way, so, don't fool yourself.
Assume that if you should find yourself in their crosshairs, their intention is to ruin you or something you value highly.
Prepare yourself now for this day. A humble, easily -achieved effort on your part can swiftly undermine the worst intentions of your threat.
      Think, prepare, act, win.

Camping photo. This is probably a cellphone photo. It could just be a friend playing a prank or helping with a hoax

Interesting. This is the first Slapped Ham video I've seen that begins without the normal intro. The lightning strikes illuminating the plumes of smoke from a volcano
@ 9:43 is absolutely stunning! It is by far BETTER than ANY fireworks display I have ever seen! AMAZING!!!❤

The photo above the tent reminds me of a rake. That's what it looks like to me out in the woods.

The woman on the driveway seems to be yelling "pass auf" which is German and translates to "look out!' , "watch out" or "danger".

The photo from 1917 with the Russian boy. Nobody mentioned the person peeking through the crack of the curtain behind the boy. 😮😮😮
