Incredible bike. I have raced on the road, gravel, and cyclocross on this bike with only swapping tires. Great tire clearance. I have the AL 5 and it has 105 components. Other brand bikes come with 105 components at an even higher price point. Quality bike.
Why can't Trek open more stores in india they would get some serious amount of customers , after all having the second highest population in the world isn't completely useless
High, I just put a pre-order on the Al 3. What is really the difference between the 1, 2, 3 and up? I got into cycling a few months ago and don't know much about these bikes, except the changing gears. LOL. But I would like to know, that way I have an idea of what I'm getting into and if that's the right model for me as my second bike.

After a whole lot of pain calling different shops, I finally found one that gets a few home next week in my size... The shop told me they ordered the bikes last summer.
I'd love to get a 60-61cm 2021 Domane AL3 in Lithium Grey/Volt - but I was told today at the Trek store in Summit, NJ that orders aren't even being accepted until September...
I just got the 2021 AL3 Disc in Crystal White today. It was the only one I've been able to find for 6 MONTHS in California. As soon as I saw it was in stock, I jumped on it, even though I had to drive 5 hours to the shop to get it. All of the local shops in my area still have it on backorder. So glad I was able to find it! Great bike.
@@raywen6939 I was talking about the Trek Store on Queen street West They definitely have them but if that's too far you can try other stores that sell trek bikes as well Best of luck
Is it worth it to go with the SL instead of the AL? 🤔 I don't mind paying extra. I don't ride that seriously. It's more for exercise, I don't plan on racing
If it's more for exercise/casual use, I would tend to steer you closer to around a $1,000 budget before accessories. So, like an AL2 or AL3. But since you don't mind paying extra? I mean the SL models are better. If the extra money is no big deal to you then just an SL4. Carbon over Aluminum isn't a massive difference. Just save a little weight and take the edge off normal road vibration. The SL models start with Tiagra and all have IsoSpeed front and rear, which dampens bumps using bearings. Things like potholes, transverse cracks, cobblestone. You also get that little compartment in the downtube on the 2021 model of the Domane SL, which is something I've never seen before. Basically all Trek road bikes are expensive for what they are. Some of the price is definitely for the name. If you care at all about dollar value, I'd probably be looking at other brands like Giant who are more competitive in that regard. But some road bikes have a unique cool factor. Domane is one of them in my opinion (some would say it's gimmicky).
I am like you. Have owned a carbon race bike but want some thing a bit more comfortable. So Al is fine these days a bit heavier but if you aren’t racing no difference. But for me the most important thing is geometry. So the Domane is an endurance bike and the set up is more comfortable and given that I am 6 4 and 16 stone that’s important. So my advice go with an endurance bike, Al frame and the best groupset you can afford. I am about to order the Trek Domane Al 5 ina 61cm.
@@sergeyandrushko600 you can do more different types of rides on a checkpoint rather than the Domane. The Domane is just a good endurance bike. The checkpoint can do this and also is a more able Gravel bike.
@@clobber66 lol, new domane al has literally same geo as checkpoint. I just don't know why bike weight is so high, more than 10.5 kg is not so good. Specialized diverge e5 comp weight 10.3 in 58 frame..

@@stephenconlon653 You push the brake lever sideways to shift. Generally right hand side controls the rear derailleur, and the left hand side controls the front derailleur. Pushing the brake lever itself goes to a larger sprocket, while the smaller lever will drop the chain to a smaller sprocket.
I have a question. On the site, it lists the Domane AL’s as having a max tire width of 35c, while on the Domane SL’s this is bumped up to a 38. Would I be able to put 38’s on the AL5?
I bought Trek Domane AL3 2023 in July. Last Sunday I had my first time rear wheel tyre puncture. To remove the wheel I had to unscrew the axle thru from the right side which took some time since there is no space to unscrew 360 degrees without touching the derailleur. Shouldn't that be from the left side for rear wheel ? It came from the store as that and I've noticed my frame has screw thread ( rear fork ) in the right side..that means I cannot screw/unscrew on the left side. If it was in the left side that would be way faster ( since no derailleur nor any other parts to avoid me to screw 360 degrees)...anybody has that issue as well ? Or my frame was sold with a defect ???
If you installed a Bontrager DuoTrap S sensor (sold separately), spinning the wheel will "wake" the sensor so a cycling computer or compatible device can find it.
Im new to biking and im wondering if you can switch out the 32 wheels for 28 wheels by just changing the tire or do you have to change like the rim and other stuff too?
