    what Balkan nation?? Slovenia not balkan!

      Thanks for your comment, there isn't as you say a consensus on which nations are included in the term "Balkans". Geographically, Slovenia shouldn't be considered a part of it because the name comes from the Balkan Mountains which do not cross its territory, but historically the country is very much linked to its neighbouring countries to the southeast, hence the inclusion. The term "Balkan Switzerland" is widely used on the internet to describe Slovenia.

      @@swissinfo History is a bit loger than 20th century. Are there no links with countries to the west, north and northeast?
