you want to use framer for small business sites and webflow for large business site. the only difference right now is the CMS. if you are already using a 3rd party CMS intergration, it doens't really matter. I use both and prefer framer becase I dont have to worry webflow server being down. and not being able to work. I also hate webflow nick picking everything thing and chargin where in framer I can get most things for free.
theirs also a way to publish your framer site and an app with out redoing everything. it makes it easier to have a holistic enviornment when clients change the roadmap

Regarding Framer AI, you have to realise that this is just a exploitation of the current AI buzz, this is great marketing campaign for Framer, and it's aimed to attract attention to Framer and to be honest they did a great job promoting it, but Framer AI is nothing other than the gimmick feature, in my opinion barely usable, but it made me to make the profile and register on Framer and try it myself, and that was probably the sole purpose of the Framer AI. Maybe it's going to get better in the future but to be honest I doubt it.

Solid prediction on Webflow vs. Framer future uses. That's exactly how I've been thinking of them. Will probably use Framer to spin up quick new product sites just to jumpstart web presence then Webflow to built out larger multi-page sites. I wonder how seo is in Framer, I know we've seen a lot of seo plugins for Webflow popping up

    • @ArnauRos
      @ArnauRos  11 месяцев назад +2

I think its naturally the course it will take seeing as its a cheaper option. People will use it as much as they can until they need something with more complexity. I'd use it for a simple site, but wouldn't for a webapp or ecom - who knows if that'll change too in the future

I'm a fan of yours, but I'm going to be harsh here. Hope I don't come across as a prick. Here goes:
    1. That you had to specify that Figma is a general design tool and Famer is for websites is bizarre. Though that is obvious to anyone who would design something, there is actually no reason why they cannot design whatever they would like to design in framer.
    2. Framer is very suitable for blogs and does have a CMS. That it's not as robust as what you can do with Webflow is not a new take...
    3. The point that you can tell when a site was made with framer is entirely disingenuous. That you can recognize it is a design tool like Figma and, in the same video, claim that designs that it produces look the same is ridiculous. Same point as #1 above. If you were to make the same comment about animations, I might understand. But that you could literally import any design you've ever made in Figma and then say that the designs that framer produces look the same is asinine. Framer's strong point is literally its design.
Sorry, but this space is beginning to get overloaded with clickbaity videos with no substance.

Hey! I appreciate your comment, and you're not coming off as prickish at all. I believe it's these conversations that lead us to better content and growth :)
      1. About your first point, it's true Figma and Framer are both robust design tools that can cater to a multitude of design scenarios. My intention wasn't to limit their usage, but to illustrate where they shine the most from my perspective. You're absolutely right, creativity knows no boundaries and these tools are adaptable to whatever the user wishes to design.
      2. On the CMS and blog suitability point, I agree with you. I never claimed that it was a novel point. I'm simply stating my experiences and what I've found while using Framer. It does have a CMS, and it does work for blogs. My point was more towards its robustness in comparison to platforms like Webflow, which have a more refined and extensive CMS.
      3. As for your third point, I can see why my statement might seem contradictory. I did not mean to imply that all designs produced by Framer look the same. Rather, I was expressing my observation that certain characteristics or traits of the tool can sometimes show through in the final design, giving it a distinctive "Framer" feel. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it is a point of note. You're right in saying that its adaptability is one of its strongest features.
Again, thank you for your honest critique. This kind of feedback helps me deliver better, more accurate content. It's always valuable to hear different perspectives, so I'm thankful you took the time to share your opinion 🚀🚀

You should definetely not learn framer for one simple reason. They just can't find their niche so they constanrly completely changing their core product. They started from pure mobile solution focusing on app. Then they decided that they want to basically do something similar to figma and now they promoting them as a CMS for landing pages. Who knows where they gonna be in next two years or so.

Thats a good point! They've changed a lot in recent years, I think with their AI solution their seems a bit more directed, but again who knows what they will do

@@ArnauRos I am really sorry for my language lol. I was really frustrated at the time, because framer failed me and I had to finish up my website for the next day. But that doesn't excuse it. Their AI website generator is kind of cool though. Again, I am sorry.

Blaming tools for incompetence. While I'm here completing my brutalist homepage in just one day just using Framer without any design tool.

@@rzgtribe1884 i am just speaking the truth. maybe it works for you because you and the tool you use are both incompetent. good luck with your garbage "designs". you not being able to unpublish or delete projects is a big problem with the design, and i am not even going to start with how buggy some of the things are. maybe you dont have enough design knowledge realize but it is okay, nobody is perfect.
