Fried banana is cooked all over the world (Asia, Latam, Canarias). In Spain Plátano de Canarias (similar to banana) is well appreciated in Spain and some regions eat a lot of bananas in different ways like with this recipe in Spain for example.

Wonderful! I was taught to fry my banana in butter, and then, the butter gets strained before it is blended with honey, which is poured over. A grating of nutmeg follows. Also, if the flour will cause issues, you can cook them open side down, and then take off the skin before turning, so they hold their shape. But I love how simple and easy this dessert is! Thank you!

In Bengal, India we also have it fried bananas but we make it without egg. Only with a batter of flour and cornflour. We give sugar in the batter and cut bananas in small pieces. It's actually a rural dish of Bengal.

Another great presentation. I’ve never seen nor thought of peeling a banana from the bottom. You’ve opened my eyes to new possibilities! 😀
Brazilians love fried bananas. They sauté them in butter and sugar. For me the heating process brings out the sweetness of the banana, which is enough sweetness.

    • @SouLoveReal

@ meanderingmuse: I would only assume that it is to limit the amount of flour in the coating to get more
banana flavor. But let's see what Albert has to say. Good question. 👍

The best part of this video is his voice - he should tell bedtime stories. Today I had the crazy idea to make a fried banana and this is the first google result so I followed it perfectly. Is this an acquired taste? Cuz I hated it. The texture of the warm banana was disgusting to me, as if a banana had gone long bad. I guess I prefer bananas cold and slightly green/tart, or the banana popsicles from my childhood (do they exist anymore?) . The other good thing about this video is that I learned what Fritos means and now I'm totally disappointed in the dude who invented them who named them "fried."
