Especially since Daybreak 3 WILL be released in Japan before the end of September this year and odds are ITS English Kai/Kuro 3 dub won't be out until at least 2026 IF even then.
You have no idea how lucky you are to have the "problem" of having too many Trails games to play. For 2 decades, fans have had the opposite problem, wondering when the next is coming out after those cliffhanger endings.
Excited for this, thanks for the coverage. I got a good chuckle at 2:36 seeing the reviewer press X instinctually at the chest, then a brief pause before pressing triangle to open. I was still doing that near the end of Daybreak I
Sorry for the low energy on this video. I had just spent 4 days in Seattle for PAX, got off a plane at 5pm and immediately had to record audio and edit today's videos. Thanks for understanding! - Azario
really? EARLY 2025? god damn that was quick really. im expecting like 1-2 years but not even a year. i take what i can take, yea this is really suprise me so much
They finally fixed the active voice thing thank goodness, in daybreak 1 the timing for the next message to start was lined up with the japanese version so you'd sit there for another 3 seconds in between every line
I played the Japanese version Kuro II with a translation patch and I think I should mention something to players who haven't played yet. No spoilers below but stuff that could influence opinion: This game is VERY divisive. You might love it, but I'd recommend keeping your expectations tempered. If you're the type who gets put off by a series by one bad game, it might be better to just wait for Kai and come back to this game later, once you know it's no longer "the latest game" in the series. It doesn't really move the story forward much, so there probably wouldn't be much important information you're skipping. And if you come back to it eventually anyway, you can fill in the gaps just as well. Again, you might really enjoy the game and not understand where all the negativity comes from. And if you're on the Trails train no-matter what, go ahead and play it without reservations. But if you ARE the type whose experience of a series can be ruined by the latest game, coming back to Daybreak II later (after Kai) might be the safest option.
even if it’s bad i probably wouldn’t skip it still, most trails fan said the same thing about “you can skip sky 3rd” now look where we at now where 3rd is important to Kai.
@@kentstopme Well sky has relevance lots of it. And anyone that played through would know that. This game has maybe 5 minutes of stuff relevant to kai. And the really bad writing is what kills it. I can play a filler game if only that was at bad as it got.
@@kentstopme Go right ahead and hope you enjoy! As I said, my advice of skipping was ONLY for those who wouldn't even give Kai a chance if they played a game they really didn't like. You might love it!
Trails games have not been difficult since Sky SC. You don't play trails games for the challenge. There is a reason why your party members ALWAYS make comments about the need to prepare before going into a fight, or being sure they are fully prepared before they go. Trails games are about the prep work, they are about finding the strategy that makes the fight easy.. As someone who has played all 11 games, if you go into a fight with no strategy, some of the harder boss fights will hand your ass to you. However, every single one of them has a strategy for winning, the challenge is to find that strategy. Trails games can be broken, figuring out how is the fun. It's never broken the same way twice. The strategy to break Reverie is not the same as the strategy to break Daybreak.
With the Trails in the Sky remake happening all that's left for me are the Switch ports of Trails of Cold Steel 1&2 brought over. Hopefully XSEED will be able to do that eventually and then all the games will be available on Switch
So the first two are technically on the switch already but it was another company that did it initially and still hold the rights and just aren't bothering translating it to English sadly. But if you don't mind "sailing the seven seas" to get the files for both those games for a jailbroken console and dragging and dropping the English subs mod that some madlad ported over from the English version it runs pretty well, you can even take it a step further and drag and drop the English dub audio to change out the japanese voice acting.
Thanks for this video now my 2025 is set on what JRPG I'll play on the 1st quarter. Appreciate for the upload however I'm cringing that you're not performing the SCLM chain with Van & Elaine. XD
