Slow retracting seat belt-quick and simple fix

Slow retracting seat belt on a car is perhaps one of the most annoying and dangerous car problems you can encounter.
Annoying as you have to retract the seat belt by hand every time you use it.
Dangerous as the belt can't hold your body in case of an accident.
As you'll see in this video, it's a simple fix that you can do on your own.

I think its more the tensioner. Because i cleaned my belt and it made no difference. I had to spray a tonne of silicon lubricant onto the belt and into the mechanism to get an improvement. Still would like to tighten up the spring tho.

Sorry for the patronizing but did you clean and lubricate the plastic retaining clip on the B pillar?
Also, if you're interested there is a video on our channel for how to lubricate the seat retractor without dismantling it.
You have to remove the plastic panels but it is worth the try.

@@DespairRepair Lubricating the clip or the belt means you are probably going to get all that lubricant on your clothing when you use the selt belt

@@mar504 hi and thanks for watching! That's one of the reasons we recommend silicone-based sprays. The ones that we use are odorless and dry up really fast while leaving a thin lubricating film.
It does the job but leaves no stains.
