This is a great idea and I’m gonna do it on mine as mine is a bit slow, it was twisted and a total nightmare but I’ve managed to untwist it, I’ve done the silicone on the rear doors and have dehumidifiers in the back over night :) have also changed the high pressure pump and a new gates thermostat, it’s coming on nicely now, lovely warm heaters, machine polish and sill repair coming next :) also tightening rear doors and doing boot alignment, it’s going to be a cracking little car :) cheers Harvey 👍🏽

HatBoyHarvey yes they are great cars :) I love mine on a windy quiet B road, yes just a bit of surface rust along the sill, it’s quite common on them, I’ve seen a few like it, getting it done properly by a very good bodywork specialist who’s a good friend of mine also :) machine polish at the same time so it’s going to be lovely

Silicone spray, spréi silikónis. I use household silicone furniture spray, seems to work just as well. Thank you for your kind words, they are greatly appreciated :-)

Thanks for these videos! Can you do a video on how to replace the side mirror mirrors and the outside handles, both the normal and the handles with locks. Buying a skoda 2005 soon so need this! :)
Thanks, I will do this at some stage, make sure the central locking works as it should before you hand over the cash for a fabia. also no warning lights are on the dash :-)

At this time of year it is also worth checking the rear carpet to see if it is wet or damp as this will exacerbate sticking seatbelts when moiseture increases at the bottom of the footwells and will need a good drying-out :-)

can't I use brake cleaner spray for that? that usually removes any grease. or is that bad for the belt?
I won't stop you, but be aware: Brake cleaner is generally highly flammable and can cause skin irritation.
Hello Harvey , I noticed that your parkong breake is rather low , my is not light that when i park it s almost at 30° . And It did not go that high up before . Also it goes that high up that I could pick up photo of audi from previpus ovner hidden inside brake housing :D .
Have look at the rear brakes and the handbrake cable there as it should self adjust to work correctly. You can adjust the handbrake angle inside the car, just need to take out the centre console. ruclips.net/video/ogUaEX7Hkqg/видео.html

Sorry it didn't work for you like it worked for my car, but at least you now know that the mechanism must be at fault and will need replacing :-)
