    I had this game. My uncle brought it from West Germany to my brother and I in Yugoslavia in November 1984. I remember when I brought this game to school (I was grade eight), everyone wanted to play. It was much better than anyone else had it back then.
    It brings back so many memories...

    Great video, there's not a lot of content out there about the Panorama Screen game and watches. I guess they were kind of rare!

    Wow that brought back some memories. I actually had one of these in the early 1980's. My uncle brought it back from his job working in Asia. I already had the B&W screen Snoopy Tennis, and many kids in school had the other ones like Parachute (or the dual screen Donkey Kong if they were rich kids). I NEVER saw anyone else with a panorama Game and Watch. This is probably why they're so rare today, although the Popeye movie bombing in 1980 probably had something to do with it too (I had to sit through it at the cinema for some kid's 8th birthday).
    Tragically my game disappeared in a house move - it's a shame because I did actually keep the box. I still remember the music though.

    Woohoo; Game and Watch day 31+! I enjoyed your review, Andrew. Great job.
    I would say this has better GFX than the Famicom/NES version.

      Hooray! I'm glad that you enjoyed it. And that's interesting comparing the appearance to the NES version, the panorama Game & Watches really do look nice! Thank you for watching. :)

    I love that the multi screen is like the DS, and the micro vs is like the switch, I wonder if Nintendo will make something like the super color or panorama screen....

    Didn´t know it´s still possible finding those gems out in the wild. Haven't found one for the last 14 - 15 years. But i´m from Scandinavia, so...

      Unfortunately the days of finding them at thrift stores are likely gone for good, but I did find this one for a good deal in a local listing. Thank you for watching, and good luck hunting in Scandinavia! :)

    This was an interesting one! I loved Popeye as a kid. I was a healthy foods kid so veggies and fruits weren't a big deal for me but I was picky about them. Spinach from the can was the one veggie I refused to eat. It just looked and felt gross to me. I love spinach leaves so much more than the wet can spinach!

    • @TheGameDisplay
      @TheGameDisplay  3 года назад +1

      Haha, as a kid the soggy spinach from the can was what I would usually get as well! I ate it, but it was far from my favorite to consume. Thank you for watching! :)

    I'd love to know who drew the art for this. It's possible it was Shigeru Miyamoto himself, though I don't know how likely.

    It sorta makes me think that Popeye should’ve been the final DLC fighter for Smash Ultimate. Think about it, both Nintendo and Popeye have something in common. XD

    Hello, I hope you can help me. I really enjoy your videos and I have been collecting many Game and Watches recently. I also bought this one too, but theres a problem with it that I just cannot figure out. It works fine, but after a few days I find it completely reset, as if the ACL button was pressed. I have checked everything, cleaned everything, changed batteries multiple times, taken it apart and cleaned it and I even applied new solder on the battery connections.. but nothing it still happens... Have you ever come across this issue before? Any help would be great.. All the best, Danny.

    • @TheGameDisplay
      @TheGameDisplay  4 месяца назад

      So it works fine, but if you just leave it for a few days you'll come back to find that it has reset? Can you continue to use it normally afterwards? It sounds like there might be a loose connection somewhere.

    • @dannymormone
      @dannymormone 4 месяца назад

      @@TheGameDisplay thank you for your reply I really appreciate it. So yes it works ok whilst playing it but it’s when I go back to it a few days it’s completely reset. I want my scores saved so that’s why it bothers me a bit. I thought it was because something was loose but I’ve already taken it completely apart and cleaned it thoroughly even though it wasn’t dust it dirty in the first place. I’m guessing there’s a fault on the motherboard itself but that’s a bit beyond my skill level !
