They could’ve put the XPS logo on the lid, instead of on the underside, so people know you bought the Big Boy, instead of the standard Dell spreadsheet warrior from a corporate IT fleet.
100% correct, if not more. This has been the case for over a decade. I think of it as the first fundamental misjudgement that Dell made with their laptops & it’s all been kinda unravelling since…😅
No usba no ethernet no full size sd card slot no hdmi. Terrible but it does look good. 4k+ oled us awesome as us touch. Nvudia graphics is great. Memory upgrades? Ssd upgrades?
I had this laptop for a while and have a pretty mixed feeling about this. On the one hand, the build quality and design are so great. I compared it with the macbooks, and I think it both looks better and has a better build quality than macbook. Amazing! It is probably the best built laptop period. However, I am quite disappointed by the thermals. I had the top model with 4070. For some reason dell decided to only give 80w for the system, which is severely underpowered. When running full speed, cpu only gets a rediculus 20w, and is running at only around 70 degrees.... The thermal capacity, or capability of the vapor chamber is definetly enough. Dell just artificially reduce and limit the performence... Really sad.
Great looking laptop and excellent for programming and photo editing. However, the dedicated GPU is nerfed for power savings. The power sent to it is below the Nvidia recommendations. Still good enough for 1080p and 1440p resolution gaming, but not the best choice for 8k or high effects 4k video editing. Also, the electronic F keyboard is just asking for accidental mistakes.
With these creator laptops' pricing, it's abundantly obvious that if any other brand had Apple's products, name recognition and loyal customer base, they'd be much worse than Apple to screw over their customers with inflated prices. As a decade long employee of a major manufacturer (supplier) of automotive parts, I can tell anyone that build quality isn't worth (doesn't cost) a 50% jump in price. It's more like the entry level products are deliberately built crappily to incentivize the more expensive ones. All things considered, Apple's reign at the top is perhaps better for the consumer as opposed to Dell or HP or Lenovo, which will nickel and dime every ounce of quality out of their consumer grade products *and* still increase prices.
F keys are now touch? What the F! Why?! What a major mistake this time- well, looks like Dell has to learn that lecture, too😆Will have to skip this generation.
Would love if you make a head to head with the p16 and the studiobook 16

Does Dell ship XPS16 to Canada with Robertson screw heads?
Asus sponsors Dell laptop video. Dell sponsors Asus laptop video. Perfectly balanced.
