- The Wiiviewer plays some tennis against some people at a tennis camp, and Mario is around somewhat...as he reviews Mario Tennis: Power Tour for the WiiU Eshop!
Song: Exhilarate by Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com)
I loved how misleading the title was; I bought it years ago expecting a normal Mario Tennis game, and when I got a totally original experience, I loved it so much. A lot of the NPC's are the same at first, but they become more unique later on, and that's when they truly matter. Overall, Power Tour is my third favourite game ever, so I'm glad to finally see a positive review from a popular reviewer, as god damn, the reviews back in the time of release were an injustice.
Nintendo! Hehehe!
Camelot! Weh he he!
Wiiviewer! Heeheeheehee!
Just never stop making reviews. They are so enjoyable.
"real american football" CALL IT FUCKING HANDEGG, it fits it better...
This game was technically a sequel to another Mario Tennis game on the GBC. The whole idea of an entire hogwarts-esque tennis school and Mario+friends being absent is nothing new, and Mario Tennis Power Tour was basically a copy of the first game in terms of gameplay. Of course they DID improve some things, and tried to continue a 'story', some of the characters are returning from the first game and the two main characters you CAN play in the first game also make story-appearances as well. It's kinda weird that there's continuity in a Mario game that barely features anything Mario is usually known for (besides Tennis..).
I've always liked these games, but then I've always liked the gameplay. Seems fitting of the review it got.
I liked the RPG tennis games better than the mainstream console Mario Tennis (64, GCN, and 3DS too it seems). Wiiviewer seemed to be unaware that this was a sequel to the GBC Mario Tennis game.
I was hoping the 3DS game would be a sequel to this one, but I think Nintendo realized that there were only so many tennis RPG games they could make.
I think you're the only one who wants Mario Football
Indeed, could you Imagine anyone trying to tackle Bowser from the back? It'd only help him (by hurting yourself)!
GmNdWtchr96 American football with Mario just doesn't work, and they'd have to have set positions, like Bowser would have to be a linebacker or something.
JealousBishop I think it could work some how and I hope its so over the top because that how mario sports are so good. I could see it being a best selling hit.
AnimeWolfgamer I don't think Mario and American Football would work well together or appeal to a great audience.
JealousBishop Let's see. It's never bad if they fail at it.
I like "The Letter" thumbnail in the endslate. The developers were like "Hey, look, people, there's blood on the letter? There you go. Horror."
THANK YOU IVE BEEN WANTING THIS AWILE! U probably didn't review it cause of me but thank u regardless
Actually he did!!! 0:55
Dude this review was hilarious and informative, man. I had to add this to my watch later, thumb up the video, and subscribe to your channel. Keep up the great work man.
please do more solo reviews! i forgot how funny you can be.
this was hilarious btw
"Or what about legend of zelda?" Omg too funny! XD
Alright, I have a new favourite moment, watching the wiiviewr head bang.
That intro was hilarious.
One of my favorite GBA games! Thanks for reviewing, Wiiviewr. I hope Nintendo will release GBA virtual console games for the 3DS, eventually.
It was fun as a kid for me at least.
Almost seven years later, still funny
Mario Tennis on the Game Boy Color was the same way with its story mode. In fact, two of the coaches were playable characters in that game.
Yeah, I remember playing this years ago on my DS through the GBA port. It's a good game and remarkably fun for being a tennis game on GBA. However you're right in saying that it as little to do with Mario. The Mario gang basically are relevant at the end of the story if I recall correctly. In fact they could have easily not existed but its still a good game aside.
3:02 do u think the guy in the blue hair looks like Marth from fire emblem.
Also at the start is that Wario, and if so why did thy do him and not mario. Did they have to bit crush it?
Thx for mentioning my name I just watched review now haha
No problem. I really had no idea this game had come out.
wiiviewr have u ever thought of doing 3ds reviews i know u are called WIIviewr but it would be a little nice edition to the channel
Wii U is selling shockingly well in Europe, and last year was selling mainly in Japan
This was a fun game back in the day. Mario Tennis: Power Tour's strength is the RPG elements unlike Mario Tennis on the N64 and Mario Power Tennis on the Gamecube where it did not exist. I think the original GBA cart could be linked to the Gamecube to unlock things on the Gamecube game, but it wouldn't matter for the eshop release.
This is pretty good. Very similar to Mario Golf for GBC. What disappointed me the most though was that the latest Mario Tennis Open had no story/RPG mode, whilst the Mario Golf: World Tour did, and it was also a much more expansive online experience. Thing is I am a bigger tennis fan than golf, so it hurt me a bit.
This is the best tennis game I've ever played when it was released for the GBA
I loved this game as a kid.
I don't get what you mean. They already have made two games about football. They could make a game about handegg too though.
I loved this game as a kid
You have done a fantastic job with it and your sons congrats boys and my name i s SeanRennie
ah memories. I remember playing the demo of this game.
23 yrs old...
I have a lot of old stuff
Such as NES controllers, SNES controllers with SNES
The actual game for the GBA.
That's pretty much that's old that I know :P
I still think Mario American Football would come off as a little strange, as it would only truly appeal to the American audience. It would kinda make more sense if there was a Mario Rugby, as that plays similar to Gridiron and more people around the world are familiar with it. But that's just my guess...
I actually reviewed this game a couple of weeks ago, it's one of my favorite mario sports games. Well it's not really a "Mario" sports game as much as it is a regular sports game but once you get over that, the game is quite enjoyable.
Can you do a mario sports mix review
Not to sound pushy, but is the Arkham Origins review ever happening.
Yes I do plan on doing it... and I plan on addressing the slowness in amusing way.
wiiviewr Can't wait for it!! You should also review the Assassin's Creed games. I've only played the fourth game and the story isn't confusing if you haven't played the others and I plan on getting the third one for the Wii U.
Yoshi is a boy
"Wii U only sells in America"
Uh actually the Wii u had a bigger install base than the PS4 for a long time.
Well American Football is becoming a little more popular in Japan they have this big Tournament called the Rice Bowl every Year but im not sure if its popular outside the stadium.
"Overweight and out of shape"? Mario is NOT Captain Lou Albano, even though he once played a live-action version of the character. This is like saying that the Smurfs are "fat" just because they have rounded bodies. E. Honda is a truly fat videogame character, and Mario has nothing on E. Honda as far as poundage. As far as a Mario version of American football, that's way overdue for a Nintendo system.
well, WiiViewer, y'know what I believe- not think, BELIEVE- would be an awesome idea if Nintendo ever gets it done? a remake of the NES's ProWrestling! kinda like what they did with Punch-Out, but with that good old wrasslin feel! I can only imagine: create your wrestler or choose from a selection that may include legends like Fighter Hyabusa, StarMan, Great Panther, The Amazon, King Cohn Karn among others... and add a woman's section as well; and do what Konami did in their Super Famicom wrestling game Max Voltage: turn some of their characters into wrestlers! plus with the implementation of the Wii-U tablet to create logos, players can make awesome artwork for their clothing as well as created arenas and such. whatcha guys think? (I know all of this can be done easy on the modern WWE games, but I'd love to see the Big N still give this thought a whirl!)
not really, after you get that cup completed in first, you go to princess peach's castle and do a tournament with all the mario characters
3:30 loudwire uses the same music, hehe
Man, it's been a while since of seen a video of yours that made me laugh. I'm not trying to be rude, but the videos haven't been that funny lately.
It's okay. I don't take it personally. I always say if I can think of something funny to say I will do it.
Yes, we need Mario football! I have been saying that for years.
The game seem fun to play.
This reminds me of BS Legend of Zelda for the Satellaview which are just remakes of the original Zelda game, only you play as either a random boy character or a random girl character.
I have this rom on my phone. Fun, but I prefer LoZ: A Link to the Past better.
what about mario curling
Not Footabll, more like a Rugby Football.
Its odd that this game doesn't focus on the characters and they said it in the title! Also yes Nintendo please make football. Pander to the americans for once as we are the reason you are still going T^T
Don't forget soccer hahaha
Yay
NOONE WANTS MARIO AMERICAN FOOTBALL. THE IDEA SOUNDS EXTREMELY STUPID
Omg no one outside of the states cares about football.
Last
Very similar to Mario Golf Advance Tour, but not as good.
I have that game & it's incredible! Easily my favorite in the series! Have the GBA cartridge, but bought it again on the Wii U eShop. Never played this Mario Tennis, but I've been much more into the Mario Golf series.
