Zemo wants his sock back.
his sock is pink with stripes on it, ya damn fool.
lol
The Rose works next to an ML Hobgoblin so the two can bicker and scheme against one another or usurp the Kingpin.
Always wanted a hitman Grimace figure
Actually mistook him for the Purple Man in the video thumbnail of my phone lol.
I like the Rose. I remember him from random comics in the 90's but idk about paying $27 and change with tax. Not even sure if it's worth 15 bucks unless I really wanna build up b-list Spidey foes.
Calling the Rose B-list might be too generous
Character is almost 40 years old. This is his revamped version for the 2020's.
The head sculpt looks like GI Joe’s classified retro head Snake Eyes, hard to tell on videos but looks like a purple Snake Eyes variant in a suit 😂
I liked a few comics he was in so I'll be getting him to add to the spider-man display.
I would have wanted a figure of this guy at a reasonable price with a reasonable amount of accessories.
it's okay, as a long time fan of this character i appreciate this figure even if nobody else does.
I’m still gonna buy him cuz I really want him
Question of the day: I used to like him, but kinda forgot he existed outside the first Spider-armor suit. Kinda wish they sculpted the jacket because that looks like he’s wearing his dad’s hand me down suit (even though that would be much bigger lol)
There was a Rose during that whole identity crisis event for Spider-Man but I don’t remember if it was this guy or not.
Kind of a bummer this is probably the only figure of this guy we’re going to get for a while and judging off the review they phoned it in. I’ll pick one up, but in no hurry.
I’ve always liked the rose. He had some great stories and was crucial to stuff like gang wars. This figure was a great grab for someone like me and it’s the only figure from the line I’ll actually bother getting
Same! You must be 40 years plus?
@@richardjamesbenoit6387 I’m only 18 but been a Spider-Man fan my whole life and can safely say I’ve read every single spidey comic! I own over 3-400 Spider-Man comics too :)
I think more than the suit being tubular, the reason it looks so weird is because its too long and makes his legs look short. So if it was shortened it would look a lot better
Yeah, he popped up in my old comic reading and I always liked him well enough.
Jigsaw, Disney+ Mr. Knight (who this figure re-uses the body of) & now this guy: what happened to Hasbro’s ability to make good coat torso overlays?
Bootleg Snake Eyes goes to the prom
I have heard of the Rose before, but other than being a Z-list character, that's about all I know.
So I like Shartimus and I watch his reviews pretty frequently, but I never watch his videos for the sake of an actual review, more for entertainment. And it's so strange that his review boiled down to "This figure kinda sucks BUT I'm glad I have this character (even though I already had a custom with better paint apps)"
He’s a Marvel Legends simp.
I like watching Shartimus reviews as well. Strictly for entertainment purposes though. But for actual in depth reviews, Anthony is my go to guy.
@@lalalarose8197 Shartimus actually used to comment in Anthony's channel, but that was a loooong long time ago.
Ngl I thought this was a Snake eyes head done in purple and was stuck onto a new suit body to sell a figure 😂
They made this for you, they heard you talking about how their figures looked like tube people, so they thought they'd give you a real tube person. I have to say it is actually some of hasbro's best work...Oh wait, this is supposed to be a character and not actually a tube-person?
I’ve never heard of the character. I don’t know if it’s because Hasbro is desperate to keep the line going, but they are really going down the rabbit hole of obscure characters at this point. At this point, I don’t even care about getting a better Venom or Sabretooth from Hasbro, because the Marvel Legends line is now essentially just a sinking ship that fanboys are shamelessly throwing life preservers to in order to keep the line going. They literally don’t care, and that interview they did recently proves this. They know people are calling them out, and they don’t care. They are essentially getting they’re money from ripping people off, to the point where Logan and Jake Paul might as well be running the company. I don’t understand why people are defending this and not demanding better product for the absurd amount of money that they are charging.
Read a comic
I think Hasbro has convinced all their fanboys that this is the absolute best they can do for $24. And if anybody (basically this whole comment section) disagrees and demands better quality for this price point, we get called "too demanding, haters, assholes..." for wanting more for our money.
I only collect ToyBiz figures, their proportions were almost always a fail, but their craftsmanship with handsculpting, and detailed paint apps that could rival some imports can't be understated. But seeing Anthony's reviews of SHF, Neca, Jada, among others just shows what trash Hasbro's ML line is
8:55 Darwin but Paid
I thought he was cool when I was a kid. First saw him in the marvel impel cards.
You thought a guy in white suit, purple sock mask, goggles, and named rose was cool? 🤔
@@suhtangwong try not to lose sleep over it.
Yeah when they first advertised this figure months ago I said oh boy they really fucked this up
If I were designing this figure at Hasbro using reused parts, I would’ve cannibalized The Indiana Jones Adventure series Club Obi-Wan Indy for the body, the suit sits better on the body and the arms sit higher, and single jointed arms and legs look better on suited figures IMO.
But I think Hasbro has some kind of rule that they can't use figure parts from other bodies.
@@chewymew which if true is beyond stupid, it’d be like if parts for a GMC Sierra couldn’t be used on a Chevy Silverado. It’s funny because I’ve kitbashed Hasbro figures together from other lines, they’re mostly compatible.
At 8:53, Darwin evolves into the world's greatest lover.
he already was. It's just now more obvious.
I'd like to assume if u rip that tube of a suit, it might actually be better. He's got a white shirt under it anyway.
I knew who he was, he’s kinda a cool character, though not an A-lister. He walked around for a long time with his identity unknown before Kingpins son was revealed.
So let me get this straight your verdict on aesthetics is 1/10, accessories 5/10 and articulation is 3/10. Can you explain how the final verdict is 0/10? Shouldn't the final verdict be the average of the 3 subcategories? In this case shouldn't it be a 3/10? I don't see an objective review in this video, but I would like to see if you have any explanation to your criteria.
The final verdict is not the average of the previous ratings. For example, a figure that is a 0 in aesthetic, 5 in articulation, and 10 in accessories doesn't get a 5. Even if the final verdict was mathematically connected to the component ratings, they don't each carry the same value. Aesthetic is far more important than the other two. Accessories are far less important than the other two. Lastly, industry context and line/brand context factor in. Second lastly, this isn't some sort of standardized test issued by the government. Being the content creator, I reserve the right to add or subtract points for the benefit of my audience, the sake of humor, or as the result of spite... Or any other reasons that seems right at the time. Hope that clears it up. Thanks for the comment.
@@maddrop correct. very good.
Fisk had kids in the Punisher comic series... but I don't recall them grown and masked... or named Rose...
Maybe try reading an A-list title like ASM, where The Rose debuted.
If this gets discounted to dirt cheap I could retool this as some background character for a generic bystander in a party or something
I don’t really get the argument for complaining about the figure not having a lot of paint. Its not like the character calls for it its a guy in a clean white suit outside of a wash that done on a production scale would’ve just made it look dirty. Them making all the parts of the suit that needed to be colored have separate sculpts is this best option.
Paint looks better than plastic. Shading looks better than flat colors. Details/different finishes look better than everything being the same.
@@AnthonysCustoms its a pure whit suit the only thing that called for being another color is the tie and which were already colored in
I saw someone did a custom of this character with the Jazwares Fortnite Wild Card and it looks way better than this. How difficult is to make a suit mold for a character like this one?🤔
He is cool
The goofy overlays on suited figures are so bad. I've never heard of this guy but I don't hate the design.
Wedding Snake Eyes
The suit jacket looks to long to me it looks wierd.
Hi do you take off the shirt on it
Is Snake Eyes off on a dinner date?
I'm sad because I wanted a Rose representation but this ML is such a big pile of crap there is no way in hell I can justify buying it for more then $2.
The collectors shouldn't be mad because Hasbro chose to release a character they don't know, they should be mad because Hasbro think they can get away with shoving this kind of garbage action figure down our throats for $27.
Thanks for the review Anthony.
The only reason i bought it was because it was 9 bucks at Walmart
fine as used for 6-7 bucks
I knew about Richard Fisk being the Rose, but only because it comes up sometimes in Daredevil. I've never actually read a single story where he's the Rose. Don't care to, either.
Bloody hell! That is one insipid figure! Utterly mad! Rose is an obscure character, one I have never heard of; he looks like a discount Black Mask. 😂
Oh goodness me… C’mon, Hasbro, you bleeding corporate wanks! This figure is naff. It is proper rubbish.
Thank you for sharing, Anthony! Brilliant review as ever, mate. 👍
Arrivederci,
Giovanni Marino, M.D.🇬🇧
This figure is not for everyone... he's a low level villain just like Tarantula...I picked them up cheap while visiting Canada ear!ier this month simply because i like having obscure villains haha but im hoping they do a Jack-o'-lantern on tne next wave ...
I remember The Rose popping up when Peter had the symbiote I believe but other than that I haven’t seen him in anything other than that!
You’re better off popping the masked MCU Zemo head onto a standard white suit body. This is comic accurate for a character I like, but this is… meh…
25$ for this thing, straight up insulting.
The way they do these suits needs a desperate overhaul. The way it’s clearly too big for them and still limits articulation is crippling issue. They could easily sculpt a buttoned suit jacket with a waist cut on a ball joint that also doesn’t look like they’re wearing a sweater underneath but why make any effort at all?
Figure of the year? 🤔
So you just want 900 different Wolverine and Spider-Man figures and no one else?
I actually enjoy having the deep cut characters but I actually like the marvel universe.
Oh wait, you might also need a few more Ironman armors.
Hey. That's a great strawman argument. Nice work.
@@AnthonysCustoms Hey, it’s not a crime to not be a Marvel Comics fan and not know anything that’s not in the MCU movies. I’m sure your trying your best.
Anthony, yes he was a partner of Hobgoblin back in the 80s building their own syndicate. Him to mess with his dad the Kingpin mostly to get revenge for daddy issues. Hobgoblin to have power and get kicks. First appearance in Amazing Spiderman. An interesting deep cut but poorly executed in articulation and paint apps. Money saved in those areas I guess went into the accessories 🤷. He could of been so much better😐✌️
@@maddrop some people just aren’t real fans and only want the 2 or three characters they know about.
I want the entire Marvel universe if I can get it
Zero? Really? 😂
So we've finally go to this point. All we can do is laugh. After all, I am pretty sure Hasbro is laughing. So essentially they took the groom off a wedding cake, put a sock over his head, and viola an action figure? Isn't Hasbro suppose to make money? They can only do that if there are consumer's recognizing a value in their product. This is a couple of pinless joints away from being a statue.
the fuck is your problem?
It's not a character I'm familiar with, so it's certainly a pass for me.
I’ve never heard of him, although I love his name!
I have no bias whatsoever
Really disappointing figure though, I wish they’d start giving a little more respect to these lesser-known characters, especially at the price point.
Q of the Day: Never heard of him. I have to think that Hasbro could produce a perfectly acceptable Crystal with no new tooling required other than a new head sculpt, yet we continue to get characters that appeal to a much smaller subset of the fanbase.
the suit looks like a dress
Marvel's Tube...Sock
Looks like a knockoff Invisible Man
The Deadpool and Hydra Bob pack ate all the accessory budget for the entire line for the rest of the year, so maybe next year we will see an extra hand with each figure.
……are they just trolling us at this point….?
seems like it
He was in a few episodes of the animated series, although he wore regular glasses over his mask in the cartoon
Another figure bound for Ollie’s
The army builder 2-pack is stupidly priced. They should've just released them in mink boxes with generic helmet heads or just sell them separately. If they can't sell them separately, how are they gonna sell a pack for that much. And a lot of people don't collect hydra goons like they collect SHIELD agents. If you want 3 SHIELD agents that's $150...
I'm a fan of this character and the execution of the likeness is awful. They put him on that retro card but the Snake eyes goggles look wasn't with that suit until well into the 2000's. It was a mask with Regular Glasses that you could see his eyes in.
I knew of him as he was in a major story-line in the Spidey books- Gang War. He had another secret identity that is even obscure= The Schemer- ASM #83 (1970). Not a major character that I wanted, but I would have gotten him for a cheap price. But looking at the promo pics and now your review, easy pass for this turd. Not even worth it for fodder. Horrible tube body and cheap looking head. Off to the landfill with this turd.
How dare you talk bad about Hasbro... Just kidding 🤣 The character actually makes appearance in the Spiderman animated series but not as the Rose 🌹 The figure itself is bland, they should sculpt button up suit characters or use soft goods preferably so we can have the articulation. "won't happen"
Definitely a better sculpt, soft goods suit doesn't sound good.
It looks like a lab coat not a suit at all.
Another fighure that looks like a cosplayer nothing against the design but hasbro needs to do better
This figure is the perfect example of hasbro laziness, theres no depth to this, and it's articulation is horrible, all of this for 25 dollars is crazy, a model kit has better quality and articulation
Based on the original art in the comic from the 80's his suit coat should not be so long. He would actually have a modern slim suit.
Also he wore regular eye glasses and you could see his eyes and flesh tone.
he's wearing the same suit from the 80's comics. so what are you complaining about?
@@plasticweaponThat it looks shitty
Nothing . Just saying. However this suit and mask shades combo isn't the look. The 80s look was a tighter suit with a purple ski mask with prescription eye glasses over it.
This figure is using a a mask shades combo used in the 90's for Blood Rose as he appeared in the Web of Spiderman comic.
Are you going to review the new black widow everyone is raving about? The face and hair look terrible to me.
I'm not hunting for it so IDK
@@AnthonysCustoms do it for the community 👊
The face looks amazing! One of the best heads ML evr made. Imo, but to each their own.
Never heard of him
Why is it always that dumb Darwin fig that is used to scale other figures 😂
He's a black body with bald head. He's perfect for scale comparison.
Not gonna lie... I'm gonna have to buy that overpriced female army builder 2 pack. The unhelmeted heads are so good, and I've always wanted female Hydra soldiers. Sucks that they're doing this bs half and half with being super low on accessories.
But Hasbro knows they have collectors by the balls with these Pulse exclusives. They can overcharge, and underdeliver, and you either take it up the ass or you miss out. Slept on the male SHIELD agents 2 pack and regret it.
Barring some sort of deliberate effort by Chinese/HK companies to offer cheaper alternatives, Hasbro will simply have their way. Great on Ramen Toys to stick it up to Hasbro with their racer; hopefully another company can dive into the obviously massive market for generic troopers/civilians/thugs/other army builders and give Hasbro a reason to be try to be competitive.
So will he be dethroning Darwin as the worse Hasbro marvel legends? Lol
I was actually *excited* for a figure of this character, but man this looks awful. The Rose is supposed to be dapper and subtly menacing, not...that.
Lol
An amazing score for an amazing figure!
