    Does pest control spray on the ground of the whole house works on getting rid of them?

      @ronielynortiz8944 the best treatment is to take away the breeding material….like in the video.

    OMG, that's what I was wondering what it was!!! I caught one racing across my phone the other day and just saw a speck moving...I was so frustrated at not knowing what it was.

      To kill these mold mites remove anything containing Grain or make sure its seald. Get all electric devices into a large clear bag, then pull each item out and rub alcohol gel hand sanitizer on ever surface then while still wet place in a clear bag remove most of the air and seal it. Leave it 12 hours. The fumes will kill them inside the device. Do this ever 3 to 5 days for 14 days.

    Can they be found in a laptop? They crawling out of my keyboard 😱 but they look bigger and longer than the ones in your video

    • @PestInterceptors
      @PestInterceptors  8 месяцев назад +1

      @tigerwintercrystal7114 they can be anywhere.
      They have some close relatives called pscocids (book lice), they are slightly larger. Same way to get rid of them though, remove the breeding source.

    I definitely need some help here. I have a dryer vent that has been leaking “the tape around it has come undone a bit and is leaking”. This is when I first noticed them. I saw them crawling around that area. Put some more tape around the vent and sprayed the area with antibacterial spray. Area dried up and now there is another leak on the same pipe but in another area. Dried that up too.
    Now, I have them all around the unfinished basement. I really have no idea what to do and where they are coming from. I feel like I’ve treated the area of the leak but how do I get rid of them?

    • @PestInterceptors
      @PestInterceptors  2 года назад +2

      They could be unrelated.
      Unlucky, but it can happen.
      Some mites / psocids will eat certain types of glue (wet tape maybe?) Some live on damp plaster (plaster mites) this could be your cellar problem. It’s actually a microscopic fungus that grows on damp plaster that the mites feed on. Dry the area out, the plaster mites will disappear.

    I need help please! I found some of these on my bedside table in my loft conversion bedroom, I’ve disinfected the whole room and hoovered but they still appear. Any suggestions as to where they might come from?

    • @PestInterceptors
      @PestInterceptors  11 месяцев назад +2

      It’s all about finding the breeding material.
      There are many different types of mite and they all prefer different food sources.
      There’s even one that lives on new plaster!
      Also glue used in chipboard!
      But mainly it’s starchy food.
      The source will be in the area you find the most mites.
      Hope that helps you.

    Please can someone tell me how you get pest control to get them out of all the electronics and in all the cupboards. I've spent weeks trying to fix the problem. It's failing. They can jump!

    • @PestInterceptors
      @PestInterceptors  Год назад

      If they jump they aren’t mites or psocids.
      A good pest control company should have access to an entomologist. You need to know what they are before you have much chance of getting rid of them.

    I've been recently having issues with them i noticed maybe a few weeks ago a few a them on my bookshelf i brushed it off until i found out what they were a few days ago then i noticed quite a few in between the books some on my gundam model kits and almost panicked since they eat the glue on old books but i don't have many old books oldest probably is mid 90s and they don't look worn out so i took everything out of the bookshelf i looked through each book not every page and i got a good eye and didn't see any at all maybe or two on each shelf so i dusted them put em back then i realized maybe they are coming from the window since theres alot of mold so i did a big cleanup job and usually theres nothing behind the bookshelf it doesn't mold there so i went scorched earth on the whole room looked good and just last night i noticed TONS of them at the air freshner which is raspberry flavour so i threw it out now they are all over the tv my ps5 so most of the day today i took em out cleaned them sprayed raid all over my room and where the air freshner is to get rid of the smell its sort of working but theres still a few i just don't understand where they are coming from theres hardly any mold i cleaned my window the only thing i might do is check behind the dresser where my electronics are but its rare for their to be mold i don't bring food in there and its quite warm so i'm planning on getting a dehumidifier to try that out i don't think i need to worry too much of my books electronics etc but i think maybe they are just really confused on where to go now that i cleaned my room good idk its a bit annoying but i can't go OCD on it forever

    • @PestInterceptors
      @PestInterceptors  Год назад +2

      Sometimes you just need to be a little more patient.
      If there were loads of them around that old air freshener I think that was somehow the food source (no idea why they would eat it, but sounds like there was something of interest in there for them!).
      When you remove the food/breeding source you remove the problem. If it was the problem then the more will just die off in the coming week. No need for toxic sprays.
      Good luck. If that was the source and it’s now thrown in an outside bin, you’ll be mite free in no time 😊

    • @Viper-jr4sp
      @Viper-jr4sp Год назад +1

      Ok but the strange thing is that the air freshener was new put it up on my dresser days ago usually it takes weeks to get old but so far did another good cleaning did the raid spray just in case and I only see a rare few like you said they’ll die off eventually and I honestly shouldn’t worry too much and once again saw one or two on my bookshelf but they are not in my books at all but I’ll still invest for a small dehumidifier sometime and I honestly wish my car didn’t kill the spider I had in my room spiders would help with this right about now but it’s spring so they should be showing up soon

    What chemical should we use for booklice

    • @PestInterceptors
      @PestInterceptors  2 года назад +1

      Chemicals should only ever be used as a last resort. As we say in the video, the best treatment is to take the breeding material away.
      If they are true book lice, they will be living on the glue in the spines of really old books, feeding on the glue.
      If you can’t throw the books away, I’d try to keep them in a freezer until all the adult population has died from starvation, then reintroduce the books.

    • @PestInterceptors
      @PestInterceptors  2 года назад

      @@prachi-y1z because you/they aren’t taking the food source away. No chemicals will stop the problem permanently.
      If you can’t find the food source/breeding material you will need to send the mites/lice to an entomologist. They will tell you exactly what the bug is and hopefully exactly what they feed on.
